RCC22- Alter It...

Hey everyone, and welcome to this week's Ribbon Carousel Crew challenge!! I am this week's hostess....well, sorta. Quit laughing, Corinna :)

Have you ever thought of all the different things you can do with your spooled items? You can scrunch it, sew it, pucker it, fold it, make flowers and embellies with it! So this week, I want you to alter your spooled item for this week’s Ribbon Carousel Challenge (
RCC22).

This week we have the super fun Cosmo Cricket as our sponsor!

With their new Glubers, you can make big and small flowers and embellies in a jiff! Eric and Julie, owners of the immensely popular Cosmo Cricket, were kind enough to send the Carousel Crew Glubers to make their amazing creations this week!
For one lucky participant, not only will you get your own Glubers….but you’ll also receive the UPcycle Crafting Kit!

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). *** After you get done with your creation, be sure to come back to the Ribbon Carousel Blog and link it up!!

For my card tonight, I started by stamping the SUPER cute witch girl from the There She Goes set, Hauntingly Delightful. I used the World's Best Die from There She Goes for my sentiment, also from Hauntingly Delightful. The other die I used is the new Spider Web Die from TSG. My image was colored with Copics, and then layered with Orange Fizz and Black Licorice(MFT). I used some Echo Park Happy Halloween paper, as well. My ribbons are both from the Ribbon Carousel(sorry the black net is out of stock). I used the Orange and Black Plaid ribbon from this month's ribbon kit for my flower, but it is sold separately, as well. It was made with my Cosmo Cricket gluber, and when I was done rolling it, I put a black brad in the center. My other black ribbon is from MFT, and was attached with a spiral clip. My brads are from Michael's. I also stamped a spider from the new Bugs and Hisses set, and cut it out. I drew in my web.

For the inside, I used another sentiment from this set, and some more of my spiders!
My card is also for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge, to make a Halloween Card!!!

Well, that is it for me for today! Be sure to head to the Ribbon Carousel blog to see what the other girls have created for tonight's challenge. Have a great day!

It'll Be Okay...

I don't know about you all, but that is my mantra these days. I have so much hope that it will all BE OKAY.....let's just hope that THAT proves to be enough. FINGERS CROSSED.

I have had a LOT going on, emotionally, involving my family...namely my cousin and her new baby, and I just haven't felt like stamping. She and her baby, Jonah, have occupied my thoughts until I am consumed with my worry and hope for them. Jonah was born with severe genetic issues, namely Marfans Syndrome(at least, that is what they think he has), which can be fatal in the first year of life. He has struggled with his breathing, and his heart, but my whole family has hope that he will be strong, and pull through all of this. My only wish right now is for Jonah to be healthy enough to survive without medical help, no matter what the road ahead has in store for him. We are all aware of the struggles he will have, and the problems that can occur, but if he can just pull through this, here and now, we will ALL make sure he gets through the rest. My family, when faced with trials, is the best at pulling together and getting what has to be done, DONE. Let's just hope we are given the opportunity to prove our strength and perseverance as a whole. I am sure, with all my heart, that we are a force to be reckoned with, and we WILL have this chance to prove ourselves. I love you Casie and Jonah, always.

Wow, sorry, I am VERY emotional right now, can you tell.

Because of everything that has been going on, I missed Forgotten Stamp Friday(Saturday...errr, kinda Sunday), but here I am, playing along now!!

If you aren't familiar with this challenge, it is a personal challenge that I have posed to myself to make me use some of my un-inked, unused, and neglected stamps. The only rule is that it has to have been un-inked or owned for 6 months. Digi images count, as well...we tend to collect those, and then never use them, too! If you decide to play along, just be sure to enter your name in the Mr. Linky, and when uploading to an online gallery, use the keyword..FSF34

So, here is my card. I chose to use the Pure Innocence My Umbrella set. It makes me think of the Mandy Moore version of Rhianna's Umbrella. DEFINITELY worth a listen. I stamped my girl on X- Press It blending card, and then colored her hair and skin with my Copics. I then paper pieced coat, boots, and umbrella with some MME Six by Six Everyday Fair paper. She was layered with Red Hot, Lemon Drop, and Fossil card stock, all from MFT. I then used more of the same paper, and some Sweet Tooth card stock for my white. My ribbon is part of the MFT red collection. My corduroy buttons were from MFT, and my red button is an old MFT button. I used Linen Thread in those. My DP was cut out with the Bracket Edge Die-namics, and my Dainty Dots Die-namics border was cut out of Fossil. I then used the First Place Award Ribbon for my sentiment(both inside and out).

For the inside, I used more of the same papers, and Die-namics, like I stated above. The sentiment is from another Pure Innocence set, Boy and Dog Snow Wonderful.

Well, that is it for me for now. If you decide to use one of your forgotten stamps, be sure to link it up in the comments so I can see it! Thanks so much for stopping by, and listening to my rant. HUGS and LOVE to all of you!

Anywho, I stamped all my pumpkins( 4 different ones) on X-Press It blending card, and then colored them with my Copics. I then cut them all out. My bat, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then cut out as well. I used a T1 Copic to give him a little bit of shadow. I then layered my pumpkins on a white oval, cut out with Nesties, and created my scene-ish. The image was then layered with Orange Fizz, Sour Apple, and Black Licorice card stock from MFT. I used Echo Park Happy Halloween paper...still my favorite. The solid black ribbon is from MFT's Black Collection, the Black Net ribbon comes from the Ribbon Carousel. Hey everyone, and Happy Monday! Hope you had a fabulous weekend! It is time for another There She Goes challenge, and this week is release week so we will only be having one challenge for you all to play in, this week. We want you to help us celebrate TSG’s 3rd Birthday by creating a birthday card with pizazz.

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a birthday card that has some type of sparkle on it (rhinestones, glitter, Stickles, etc.), and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (September 19). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG123 so we can check out your beautiful work!

For my card tonight, I combined two sets: Freeze the Moment, and Make a Wish. I stamped my Leah on X-Press It Blending card, and then colored parts of her with my Copics. I then masked her hand, and stamped my balloons from the Make a Wish set. I paper pieced her dress with three different papers, and her balloons with three different papers. They are all from the American Crafts Confetti line. I then layered her with Rose Red(SU), Limeade and Hot Fudge(both MFT). I used more of the paper from American Crafts on the base, and some YUMMY Reseda Seam Binding from the Ribbon Carousel....so gorgeous!! For my sparkle, which DID NOT translate into photo, I added some Sakura Glitter to her bow, collar, socks, and belt....oh well. Stupid glitter pen/camera fail.

Well, that is it for me for now! Be sure to check out the There She Goes blog for more details, and have a great day!

Crazy 4 Challenges- 3-D and Pumpkins

It's Saturday which means it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge.

Before I get into today's challenge, as this week is a sponsored challenge, I want to introduce this month's sponsor which is Creations by AR. Adela has some awesome templates on her site which I know the "Crazies" have had fun playing with for our challenge this week. I don't have a fancy die cutting machine, and I SUCK at cutting out templates, but the templates come in all formats: PDF, SVG and DXF so that you can use them with your electronic die cutting machines or cut by hand if you don't have a machine. I opted not to use one of her template's for the reason's mentioned about, but they are all FABULOUS!! This week's winner will receive two templates of their choice from Creations by AR.

Adela has also offered our blog readers a 10% discount on all her templates during this challenge so that is from September 17th to September 23rd. All you need to do is use the code: challenge10 when you go through the check out.

Now it is time for our challenge, Barb is back with another fun fall themed challenge for us all! This week all you have to do is create a card or project with a pumpkin on it in some form. It can be a card or 3D project.

If you decide to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C105. Don't forget to come back here and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too.

Ok, so if you made it this far...mostly because I am sure you smelled chocolate, but you are IN FACT at the right blog. I don't do 3-D, in fact, I almost bowed out of this challenge. I tried a template or two in my time, and the whole idea of cutting them out, taking all the time, and then they NOT working the way I want them to the first time makes me nutso, so I avoid them...but this, it came to me in a vision. LOL!!! No templates were harmed in the making of this pumpkin, in fact, it was pretty dang simple. I started by cutting 12- 1"x8" strips of Orange Fizz. I then cut two of the scalloped circles from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics out of JellyBean Green. I then punched a hole in each end of the strips, and the centers of my circles. I used a large Michael's brad at each end, and put one end of the strips through the top with the circles going on the brad first, then one at the bottom. I then fanned out the strips to make my pumpkin. For my filler, I used some white cardstock, which I cut into 1/4in strips and then crumpled up. I filled the inside with a few Hershey's Miniatures, cause, ya know, chocolate is amazing. I then cut out some swirls with my Fancy Flourish Die-namics and some JellyBean Green cardstock. For my tag, I cut some Echo Park Happy Halloween with my Framed Greetings Die-namics. I then hand cut out a layer of Black Licorice just a tad bigger to give it some more dimension. I then stamped my sentiment from the Tag You're It stamp set. To attach it to my pumpkin, I used some Black Collection Plaid ribbon from MFT.

Well, that is it for me for now! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day! Be sure to pop by and see what all the other Crazies have created!!

For my card today, I used the super cute Pure Innocence-Happy Mail set. I stamped her on X-Press It Blending card, and then colored her with my Copics. Her dress was paper pieced with some October Afternoon Fly a Kite paper. I layered her with Cotton Candy, Lemon Drop, and Hot Fudge....does anyone else get hungry reading the names of MFT's YUMMY cardstock??!! I do!! I also used Sweet Tooth for my white, and my sentiment. My ribbon is Walnut Seam Binding from The Ribbon Carousel, and my button is from SU. I used Blossom Twine from MFT, Michael's brads, and a Creative Express spiral clip. For my sentiment, I used the Dog Tag Die-namics.
