Oh my HECK!!

So, I wanted to play in today's Inspiration Challenge, but when I tried to go to the website provided, it wasn't working. That forced me to have to be inspired by the provided pictures...which isn't a bad thing, but still. I was gonna do the deer, but I though that wasn't CHALLENGING enough, so I chose to do this one here. Only problem...I looked at it a few(like 12) hours ago...so, I guess I didn't quite remember what I had seen, hehe!! This is what I saw in my head, so I guess that is good..but it is a TINY BIT TOO BRIGHT for my taste. After seeking the VERY honest opinion of my girl Jodi, she said it is AWFULLY BRIGHT but in a good way and to post it...so I am. Forgive me if you need your sunglasses to view, LOL!! I used my Spring Ephemerals and Many Sentiments by Flourishes. I stamped my image( I think it is the Forget Me Not) in Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and Pacific Point. I added some K&Co. pearls and my sentiment tag. The white ribbon is from My Little Ribbon Shop(SO YUMMY and I LOVE that it is SHINY on one side..makes me giddy)... all the other is from SU. I attached it using some spiral clips. The DP is from the Kiwi Kiss patterns DSP and the base is Gina K. White. Okay, you can take off you sunglasses and move on...thanks for looking, LOL!!

Cupcake Sketches

Here are a couple of the cards that I made for the Taylored Expressions Cupcake sketch challenge. They were celebrating having one year of sketches, so I decided to play along...of course, there were nine of them, yikes!! This first card I made using the SU Bella Blossoms set. I cut my white layer out of PTI white with my Circle Nestabilities. The DP is from the Raspberry Tart pack. The image was stamped with Rose Red ink. My Rose Red layer was run through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots folder. I stamped the sentiment with Kiwi Kiss and punched it out with my Word window punch. This card was made for Monika's sketch.

For this second card, I used my Teacup Daisies image from Stampin Bella. I have had this FOREVER and it hasn't seen ink yet. Since my goal this year is to use what I have(and I never said a thing about not buying more, I just need to use what I have too, hehe), I tried to find an image I could use for this card. I had this piece of DP for ever, and I loved the colors, so I decided to use it with this card. It is from SEI and I paired it with Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi and Ruby Red. Along with the SEI DSP, I used some Wild Wasabi DSP. I colored my image with my Copic markers and paired it with some YUMMY white satin ribbon that I got from My Little Ribbon Shop. I did some piercing, added some Bella Baubbles and embossed the white layer with my Swiss Dots folder. The sentiment is from the Whipper Snapper set, Posies For You. This card used Jami Sibley's sketch.
Well, that is it for now...more tomorrow!!

We Have A Winner!

So, I wanted to start this post out by saying that if I could give each and everyone of you a prize, I TOTALLY would!! All of your kind words and encouragement mean the world to me...you ALL are the reason I continue to do this...that and I am TOTALLY obsessed,LOL!! I also had to laugh at some of the comments about the snow...yes, I am aware that it is MUCH worse some places...but seriously my Mom lives in KY and STILL doesn't have power. She and her boyfriend are using their fireplace and kerosene heaters to keep warm, grilling out and cooking hot dogs on the fire and going to the YMCA and restaurants that have power to eat and bathe. We have ALL tried to get them to come stay with us or even in my Mom's old house in Carmi, and they say no. My mom even went as far as to say that it was fun, kinda like camping......see where I get it, she is NUTSO!!! ROFL!! But seriously....I draw the line at cold...can you imagine how cold the toilet seat would be...what a wake up call, hehehe!!
Okay, enough blabber...here are our winners!! The winner of the NESTABILITIES is

Yayy Amy!!! I always love when you leave me comments, and I am so happy that this one paid off for you!!
Winners have three days to contact me, and if they don't then I will redraw!!

That is it for me now...I am off to see what the Inspiration challenge and SFYTT are for this week!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy BLOGAVERSARY to ME!!

THIS CANDY IS CLOSED!! I am currently working on cutting out the comments and picking a winner....be back soon!!

So, today is my ONE year blogaversary!! It is amazing to me that I have been doing this for an entire year. I can remember the night that I set up my blog...I stayed up til 3am just GIDDY with excitement from finally taking the plunge. I have to admit, life was a TINY bit easier before the blog, but I wouldn't trade it in or give it up for the world!! I just love sharing my life, my art, and my time with all of you wonderful people!! To say thanks, I am having a giveaway, or rather TWO giveaways. Here is what you will win, but first, a funny story. So, HERE is why you need to read all the fine print before haphazardly buying things you know nothing about!! I decided that I DESPERATELY needed the Petite Scalloped Circle Nesties. I have the Standard, but something about the cute little scallops CALLED to me. So, I went to Cut At Home, 40% coupon in one hand, debit card in the other...and I bought the set of 4, and there in lies your problem...the set has the petite scallops, but also the standard Circles-which I already got with my standard scalloped circles. So, I found myself with an extra set of the standard circles...which is kind of a bonus for all of you since I am now GIVING them away!! So, First Prize gets their very own set of Standard Large and Small Circle Nesties. Second Prize will receive a 6x6 Bittersweet paper pack from Basic Grey along with the matching buttons. Sound good?? Well, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post, which I will leave at the top of my blog until 10amCST on Saturday, January 31st when I will pick a winner. Nope, you don't have to do anything fancy, just leave a comment and you could win!! If you want to be entered in just one specific drawing...for instance, you already have the circles, but would LOVE the paper, include that in your comment and I will only enter you in the one drawing, kay!!

NOTE THEY ARE PICTURED TOGETHER, BUT THEY ARE SEPARATE PRIZES!!
Also, here are some pictures of the first REAL snow we have gotten all year. Can you tell I am not going ANYWHERE today?? And yes, I live across from a cemetery, but I swear, there is a road in between my yard and it, it is just BURIED!!

My New Favorite Sophia

So, I know I say this every time a new Sophia comes out, but seriously, how can you NOT love this one??? This is the full card that I PEEKED during our Paper Pretties Anniversary blog hop. This is Sophia Ballerina, and she is the Stamp of the Month for March. If you sign up for the SOTMC by February 28th at midnight, you will get this stamp sent out to you in March, otherwise, you have to wait until her official release in April...what does that mean, that means you need to get signed up and QUICK!! We previewed her a little early as part of our 2yr anniversary, but honestly, it was a good thing...I don't know if I could have held out much longer!! She was stamped on Gina K. white and then colored with my Copics. The image was cut out with my Oval Nesties and Cuttlebug. I layered her with Pink Pirouette and Bravo Burgundy. For the background, I used a piece of Pink Pirouette DSP which I stamped the SU French Script on in Bravo Burgundy. The ribbon is from May Arts, except the white which is from SU. I did my sentiment with my Large oval punch and tag punches. Lots of piercing, sponging, and some embossing and it was done!! I LOVE this card...it makes me wish I had learned to dance, how about you?? That is it for me now...have a great day!!

Dear Friend

I slept in this morning(don't you just love that) so I am NOT tired tonight..which is really bad because I have to be up at 6am...yikes!! I am going to force myself to go to bed as soon as I post my card for the LSC..I SWEAR!! I decided before I went off to bed to check the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS. The challenge was to make a clean and simple card...yikes!! So, I am not sure that this card is the conventional version of clean and simple...but for me, it TOTALLY is. I stamped my Bella Blossoms flower twice, once with Pink Pirouette and once with Riding Hood Red. I cut out the whole Riding Hood Red flower and glued it onto my Whisper White base that I had stamped the whole flower in Kiwi Kiss on. I then cut out the center two layers of the flower, but I cut them separately to make the illusion of two layers, but really I only stamped it once. The edges were lightly sponged with RHR ink and then glued on. On the card base, I cut the front a little short and added a strip of RHR that I had used my scalloped edge punch on. I then stamped my sentiment and pierced around it. To finish the card, I added a piece of RHR striped ribbon. See, I told you...easy for me, LOL!! Have a great day!! I will be back with a Prettie Post in the morning!!

Ways To Relax...

Wow, you ladies are SERIOUS about your blog candy, LOL!! I am THRILLED at the response and the responses, I {heart} you all too!! So, I am not much of a drinker, but when I saw today's Ways To Use It challenge, I dug around til I found some alcohol related stamps so that I could participate. The challenge was to use anything alcohol related...we all know I am not a technique-y sorta girl(even though I own all the stuff to be one), so I decided this super cute wine glass and bottle from the My Favorite Things set, Time for the Bubbly. I am really trying to get all the Taylored Expression Cupcake sketches done(there were 9 of them), and after this card, I have one left. This sketch was provided by former Prettie Guest, Stephanie Hargis. When I saw that she had provided a sketch, I knew I had to play along!! I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with my markers. I then added Crystal Effects to make them shiny. The bottle was cut out separately, and the glass was punched(along with it's layers) with my SU circle punches. The colors on this are Bravo Burgundy and Pink Pirouette. I paired them with some Parisian Summer DSP and Gina K. White. The top layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Textile folder and then connected the layers with some YUMMY Pink May Arts ribbon that my girl Julie hooked me(back) up with!! The sentiment was punched with my Word Window punch and I added a silver brad...cause it looked lonely. Steph's sketch was pretty simple, so I tried to keep my card simple....I think I did it!! That is it for me now, off to make the final card from the sketches...it is still boggling my mind, but I am running out of time..yikes!! I know you are thinking....this is only the second card we have seen from the sketches...and you would be right. I will post them on my blog here and there(on days when I don't feel like stamping, LOL)!! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!

Flattery Will Get You Far...

Isn't THAT the truth!! I know you aren't surprised at this point, but I am LOVING this new set from Paper Pretties. I still have one card from this set you haven't seen, and I decided to use it for today's sketch challenge and Jana's Prettie Wednesday Challenge. Jana gave us some of the strictest rules for today's challenge...and I am STILL not sure I followed them correctly. Here were the rules:

Create a card or scrapbook page using the following items:
1 dry embossed piece (embossing folders and texture plates count!)
2 pieces of patterned paper
3 colors of solid card stock (this includes any neutrals you use)
4 embellishments
5 layers

So, the dry embossed piece must be one of your patterned papers or your 3 colors. And, at no point should there by more than 4 layers under a top piece of card stock. However, if you have your base card with a second layer on that...you may have multiple small pieces each with 2 layers under them...right? Oh...and you may use as many tools as you like. Guess this isn't so much limited as just very specific!

I think my sentiment may have broke the 5layer rule, but I am so close I am not going to worry about it. Oh, and if paper piercing is an embellishment just pretend you don't see it, kay??For this card I used some Hawaiian Papaya DSP to paper piece the take out box and for the panel behind it. I paired it with Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss card stock. I made a slight Shadow around the box and fortune with my Copic W1marker. The Kiwi Kiss layer was ran through my Cuttlebug with the Hounds tooth folder. For my embellishments, I used all SU ribbon, a Heidi Swapp Ghost heart, a Bella Bloom button, and some silver brads. That is it for me now...I will be back in a moment to announce my BLOGAVERSARY candy, yayy me!! Be sure to blurf around and see how the other Pretties did with this weeks challenge!!!

Guess What??

Emily, the regular host of the color challenge at SCS is off having a ROCKIN good time at CHA, so she asked for volunteers to host this weeks color challenge. Since I have ALWAYS wanted to host one, I jumped at the offer and she said OK!! YAYYY!! I am super duper excited, and I got a big ol box of Stampin Up goodies today, so I was anxious to use them. I still haven't placed a new catalog order, I am waiting for Saleabration, but I had some stuff I wanted to get before it all retired, and the Bella Blossoms set FINALLY made it into my hot little hands....YAYY!! I have been LONGING for this set ever since it came out, and have just now FINALLY broke down and bought it....and I couldn't be happier!! I stamped the flower three times, once in Pacific Point for the base of the flower, once with Baja Breeze and some Pacific Point on the edges, and once with Garden Green for the stem. I used some Muirfield DSP and LOTS of SU ribbon. The sentiment(my new favorite way to do them if you haven't noticed) was created using my tag punches from SU and the middle sized oval. This card is about as close to SUO as I get, but those spiral clips...they are my weakness....like you didn't know!! Anyway, I HOPE you all play along...I can't wait to see what you create!!

Are You Ready??

So, I haven't mentioned it yet, but my blogaversary is in 3days!! Yayyy me!!! Stay tuned for BLOG CANDY!! Last night was the Paper Pretties release party and we had a BLAST!! Lots of prizes were given out and I think we made a lot of new friends!!! The new sets are ready to order, so if you haven't ordered them yet, better get going!! I gotta tell ya, I am IN love this this new Flirty Fortunes set...even though I can't color a fortune cookie to save my life, LOL!! I made this card as a sample for the party using Jen's SFYTT. I finally broke out my Haiku DSP and paired it with More Mustard and Tangerine Tango(totally makes me want chinese food...yummy tangerine chicken and eggrolls...yummm). The ribbons are both from SU, and I used my new Pinking Circles Nesties from Cut at Home. Super cute huh!! Better get going, Jared is here and he is not always very happy to come back on Mondays...I think he misses his mommy!! Poor kid, bet she misses him too. Here is some BABY EYE CANDY for ya!!!

FS103 Vicky Gould!!

Yayy Vicky!! Congrats on being this weeks Featured Stamper over on SCS.
I was SO excited to see that Vicky had been chosen this week. She truly does have a heart of GOLD, and is so talented. We have RAK'd back and forth a few times, and she is just the sweetest! As soon as I saw it was her, I had to play!! Going through her gallery, THIS card immediately jumped out at me. I just recently caved in and bought the Mailbox Greetings set from Papertrey Ink, and I was super excited to FINALLY get a chance to use it!! I stamped the main image on Gina K. White with Memento Tuxedo Black. I actually stamped it twice and cut out just the mailboxes on one. The image was colored with my copics, an I added some Crystal Effects to the "snow" at the base of the mailboxes. I layered it with Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, and Kraft. The kraft layer was stamped with my Canvas BG stamp from SU and then the sentiment was stamped over that. I changed a few things from Vicky's card like: the ribbon placement, colors, image(although it is similar), added dimensionals and brads. That is it for me now, thanks for looking!!

By the way, I was tagged by Lori!! The rules of the tag are were to tell 6 random things about yourself and then tag 6 others. I have NOTHING interesting left to tell you, so I am not going to play, but I did want to acknowledge that she did tag me, and I am SO appreciative!! Okay, now I am really done, LOL!! Thanks!!!

Saturday's Inspiration

So, I have been TRYING to get organized all day, and I finally threw up my hands and decided to stamp. Of course, this is my third card, the other two you can't see yet, but soon!! Anywho, I decided to participate in the Inspiration Challenge over at SCS. I chose this calendar to be inspired by. For my main image, I used the Gina K. set Home Tweet Home. I stamped my bird on Gina K. white and colored it in with my Copic markers. It was then cut out and layered using my oval nesties. For the base, I used some Washington Apple DSP, Blush Blossom, Bashful Blue, and Gina K. White. I used my SU scalloped edge punch to make the scallops and LOTSA SU ribbons. I also used one of Taylor's Cupcake Challenge sketches(TECC52TV). That is it for me now...I need to unbury my stamp table and get back to work!! Have a great day/night!!

Wanna Stay In??

So, here is a PEEK at the new set being released by Paper Pretties on Sunday, January 25th. Here are all the details:

January 25th will mark Paper Pretties 2nd year in business and we want to celebrate in true Prettie style with a mystery, lots of prizes, a party, and a ton of inspiration for you! We'll be releasing a new stamp set, revealing the next Stamp of the Month a little bit early and re releasing Sealed with a Kiss in RUBBAH!!!
Be sure to join us for all the fun. Our blog hop will begin on
Christie's blog on January 22nd and the fun will continue for 3 whole days culminating in our party in the forum on the 25th at 8pm EST.
We'll be announcing our grand prize winner of a 6 month
Stamp of the Month subscription and giving away one of our new stamp sets to another lucky winner. We'll have prizes every 1/2 hour during the party BUT you have to be there to win! Also, everyone who orders on the 25th OR joins the Stamp of the Month club will receive a free roll of American Crafts ribbon!

So, doesn't the hop sound like fun??? Today's peeks were awesome, and I am sure people already have guesses, but the next round starts here tomorrow morning at 7amCST!! I can't wait for you to see my peek, I am TRULY a tease, LOL!!
Anyhow, I had too much caffeine today trying to get rid of my migraine that WILL NOT let go, so I am here, blogging and stamping, fun for me(not so much for my headache, but I an NOT tired and totally sick of sitting in the dark)!! I decided to combine today's Ways To Use It Challenge and Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge for my card, I just love it when they post those early!! So, for the Ways to Use It challenge, you had to alter your DP, so I took my versamarker and used it and some holographic gold EP to add some sparkle to the centers of the flowers. For the Limited Supplies challenge, you had to use a black card base. Not my normal, but I KNEW it would work with this new set from Paper Pretties, and I think I was right!! I stamped my take out box on Gina K. white and on some Green Tea DSP from SU. I then cut out the white layer with my Oval Nestabilities, and then I paper pieced the box. I then layered it with Baja Breeze and added a spiral clip with the same color ribbon on it. The chopsticks are also from the set, and they were colored with Copics, cut out, and adhered to the main image. The sentiment pennant( I love it when Anna Wight does this, so I had to copy!!) was cut and glued down, then I added a Baja Breeze button with a black glitter dot to it.

Not So Prettie Wednesday....

What can I say, I am not very happy with this card. Not so much the layout, it is this weeks sketch challenge, which I love. It's not the colors, I LOVE this paper from SU. It isn't the super cute stamps...gotta love a cute little puppy running in a rain puddle!! It's the coloring....NOT GOOD. It isn't my fault though, I had no choice...CHARMAINE made me do it!!! Two weeks ago, Charmaine challenged the Prettie Girls to use Chalks/Pastels on our cards...let's just say I failed miserably. I TOTALLY colored with the chalks, but I SERIOUSLY did a horrible job doing it...and my poor puppy, I had to color it about 5 times til I got it the way I wanted it...and I STILL don't like it. I cut him out too, which looks kinda bad, but I digress......hey, give me a break, ALL the girls were whining(just ask my email, it was BURNIN up tonight trying to keep up with the constant flood of emails)!! So, I already told you it was the sketch, the paper is from the Prestwick DSP which I paired with Basic Grey and Brocade Blue, and the stamps are from Paper Pretties(Rainy Day Friends). I used my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties to cut it and it's layers out. I added crystal effects to the water and embellished it with some silver Robin's Nest Dew Drops. The ribbons are from SU(Brocade Blue grosgrain and Basic Grey taffeta). I punched my sentiment out with my oval punches and it was done!! I am SUPER excited because this week ALL the new Prettie Girls will OFFICIALLY be playing along AND my pal Jana is BACK, WAHOO!! Thanks for stopping by, be sure to check out the other Pretties to see what they have created, and if you wanna play along, please do, just leave us a link!!

Welcome to the Heartbreaker Hop!!

ETA: The Blog Candy from this post is now closed!! Thanks to all that played!!

WELCOME to this month's BCDzyns blog hop!! Today(like right now), My Favorite Things is releasing the new BC Dzyns set Heartbreaker!!Not only that, we are also releasing a new set for the MFT Presents line!! I previewed it on Monday, but in case you missed it, it is a sayings set to go along with the PaperDolls set by Stephanie Fizer. So, if you are just now joining the Hop, you need to head to KIM's BLOG to get started and see all the other FABULOUS samples with these new sets, but be sure to come back so you can register for my BLOG CANDY!! That's right, I was lucky enough to receive two sample sets of the Paperdoll Sayings, so all you have to do to win is leave a comment on this post, and I will pick a winner on Friday morning(just so you know, a sample set is the same as what you get from the MFT store without all the fancy packaging)!!

Ready to see my samples? GOOD!! For the hop today, I made two samples, one for each set. They both also tie into today's What's Up Wednesday challenge being hosted by me in the MFT member forum!! My challenge is to use LOTSA ribbon on your cards, specifically, at least 3 different kinds!! I used 4 on each, which is a ton I know, but I LOVE my ribbon!! For my first card, I used the new Spring Digital paper from Stephanie Fizer and printed it out on Shimmery white paper. I stamped my Isabelle on Gina K. white and colored her with my copics. I added a ton of glitter dots, and all my ribbon. The two ribbons on the clip are shimmery ribbons that I got from MFT, the other two are from SU(although the organdy is retired). I just LOVE this sentiment from the new saying set, it is TUTU-RIFIC(hehehe)!! I did color her dress with Angel Wings Shimmerz after I was done, to add some sparkle!!

For my next card, I used the new BCDzyns set, Heartbreaker. The shirt and heart were paper pieced with some paper from my DCWV Rockstar stack. I stamped my sentiment, We Belong Together( sing it with me) after paper piecing it. I then colored the rest of her with my copics, and I even gave her a sassy highlight. Isn't she KEWL!! She was paired with Basic Grey and my last lonely piece of Basic Black. I also added a Black Prima, which I colored the dots in with my Copic and a yummy clear heart from Heidi Swapp. The ribbons are all from SU, except the wide Black which came from Jody(texasjodylynn), who is coincidentally the next stop on the hop!! So, after you get done entering my contest, hop on over to Jody's blog to see what GORGEOUSness she has for you....and while you are at it, break out your ribbons in play in my challenge!! Thanks and have a great time on the hop!!

Bunny Hop and Some News

So, on January 25th Paper Pretties will be two years old, how awesome is that!! I feel so fortunate to have been a part of this company for as long as I have been and I look forward to working with them in their third year...and many more!! In honor of our Anniversary, we are having a celebration!!! Here are the details!!

I am so excited about this month's celebration, the stamps are to die for, and the prizes ROCK. Also, the thought of a 3 day blog hop makes me giddy!! Wahoo!! So, since I can't show you any of the new stuff, which is WAY painful for me, I am showing you the next best thing!! This is Bunny Hop Sophia and she is the February stamp of the month. She will be sent out to SOTMC subscribers in February which means you will receive her about a month before anyone else will. If you want more info on the SOTMC, you can check out this link here. For my card today, I paired my Bunny Hop Sophia with SU Georgia Peach paper. Jodi is ALWAYS using this paper, and I gotta say, I kinda LOVE it now...which means I am almost certain it retired and I didn't order any extra...and so it goes. I have to tell you, I am the WORST SU demo ever..that is why it is just a hobby(I seriously DON'T have a catalog yet and I have NO CLUE what actually retired...yayy me-NOT). Anywho, I colored Sophia with my Copics and then cut her out and her Old Olive layer with my Oval Nesties. The ribbons are both from SU, as well as the punches used to create my sentiment tag. The other colors on this card are So Saffron and Regal Rose, by the way. I used the Photo Corners punch to make the photo corners, added some silver brads, piercing and it was done. Isn't she gorgeous!! I just love her!! Alright, that is it for me now...off to play with my nephew some more, he should be waking back up any minute now!!

Feel The Love

So, this months DD/DDA challenge(that is Dirty Dozen/Dirty Dozen Alumni) for this month was hosted by my girl Jodi(kharmagirl). The name of her challenge is Feel the Love. Here are the requirements!!
Challenge Focus: A Valentine's Day/Love-y Dove-y card!!

Required Element: Texture!! Anything you can *feel* (ie: Fun Flock, Crystal Effects, Embossing/Debossing, velvet ribbon...and I am sure there are a million more things that I cannot think about!!)

Restricted Element: No RED!! Pink is ok...but no red...let's see what other colors we can use for Valentine's Day!

So, since it is the 20th, I decided to combine mine with Celebrating MFT day. Celebrating MFT(My Favorite Things)day is the 20th of every month. Basically, by this point, you should have received all the goodies you ordered from the last release and be ready to play with them. You get a bonus for using the signature MFT color combo, pink black and white.(okay, not a REAL bonus, but you know what I mean right?!!). I have SO many MFT stamps that I love, but this cute little bunny was begging for me to get him inky, so how could I resist?? I stamped the bunny twice on Gina K. 120lb white and cut the whole bunny out of one, and just the head and ears out of the other. I cut and embossed my layers with my Rectangle Nestabilities. I then added my bunny to the top of it, and adhered the extra head. To give the ears some dimension, I glued his head to the original head, but put the ears up on pop dots. The heart was colored with my Copics and then I painted over it with Angel Wings Shimmerz. I used some YUMMY MFT Digi paper from the Stephanie Fizer Spring pack. The button is from Basic Grey's Bittersweet pack and the clear Heidi Swapp heart is from MFT too. Since Jody says I can't leave my buttons bare, I put some white satin ribbon through it. For my texture, besides the shimmerz, I embossed the black panel at the top and added the textured black ribbon from May Arts on the side. The brads are from SU, part of the Soft Subtles pack. I used Jen del Muro's SFYTT from last weekend.

WAHOO...let me tell you, YOU WON'T be disappointed in the digi papers, and you KNOW how I feel about ribbon!! Anywho, this week, we are releasing TWO new sets over at My Favorite Things. The first set is the Paper Doll Sayings set that goes along with the SUPER CUTE Stephanie Fizer Paper Dolls set. I keep seeing all these ADORABLE cards using the bear costume from that set, so you know I had to go for it!! I stamped the bear and the girl separately, colored just her face(that would peek out of the hole) and the whole bear outfit with my SU markers, and my Copic markers. Someone asked me if these blend well, heck no, they are a HOT mess together, BUT, I only have one set...and not a durn thing to color skin with, so a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!! I cut just her face out(just so you know, I didn't eyeball this, I stamped the bear over the girl so that the face was perfectly centered-I am no where near that good-Stephanie HUSH, hehehe) of one and the entire bear out of the other. Next, I used my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties to cut out a Gina K. white layer, Real Red, and then Tempting Turquoise...WOW!!! It has been a LONG time since THAT color got used, but my paper made me do it!! The DP, which is GORGEOUS, is part of the Stephanie Fizer Summer Digital Paper Pack(see, use the special up there to get it...trust me, you won't regret it)!! For the rest of the card, I used some Real Red striped ribbon from SU, along with their tag punches and large oval punch for my sentiment, some Michael's Bride Confetti flowers, Bold Brights brads, and my Swiss Dots folder. The white layer was embossed with the Swiss dots, by far my FAV of all the folders. For the little turquoise circles under the brads, I used my handheld 1/4circle punch...not ideal, but I keep the "receptacle" empty, punch my circles, then empty it and viola!!
Okay, seriously, I LOVE THIS CARD, LOL!! It is so bright and cheerful..makes me long for summer!! That is it for me now...thanks for stopping by, have a GREAT day!!

FS102 Stamp_Momma

Today's Featured Stamper was none other than Lori Craig, Stamp_momma. Lori is part of the SCS team, and although I don't know her personally, she is SO sweet and helpful and encouraging...not to mention a ROCKIN stamper!! I had a hard time picking one card to CASE, so I decided to do two in one. The one I REALLY wanted to do was a past sketch challenge, so I decided to use the image from it, and combine it with this card. I have had this stamp set, from Our Craft Lounge, since they opened and have JUST NOW got around to using it(we won't talk about the four other sets I have that I haven't inked...shakes head). It is from the set Dr. Peanut and let me tell you, it is SO CUTE!! I stamped the main image, hearts, grass, flower and sentiment on Gina K. 120lb white with Memento Black ink. I used my Copics and a couple of SU markers to create my scene. My sky is kinda wacky, but I like it, makes it look more real(work with me here people). I stamped the Be Mine heart separately and popped it up. After coloring all of it, I added some Crystal Effects to the hearts and the flower. I followed the layout on this card, and really tried not to change to much. Basically, I changed the image, colors( Rose Red and Regal Rose paired with Basic Grey Bittersweet), and didn't do the stitching...pretty good for me huh!!!
Well, that is it for me for now, thanks for looking and have a great day!!

All Day Inspiration

So SERIOUSLY, it took me all day to FINALLY decide on what to do for today's Inspiration challenge. The sad thing is that I saw this challenge last night and STILL couldn't decide which picture to be inspired by. I finally decided that my Fabulous Flowers set was starting to feel unloved, so I chose this room to be inspired by. I stamped the flower 4 times with Regal Rose ink and cut it out in different layers. I then embossed each layer with clear embossing powder and put the layers together using dimensionals. The glitter dots in the center were bought from All That Scraps, and I SO wish I hadn't put them on here...it was ALMOST an SUO card...poop. I used Sweet Always DSP from SU along with Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip. I did a lot of piercing, added some grosgrain ribbon from SU, and then added my sentiment from All Holidays at the bottom. I *think* this is super close to last weeks SFYTT, but I didn't print it out, so I may be wrong wrong wrong(and I was, oh well..LOL)....definitely wouldn't be the first time!! That is it for me now...back to the stamp table!!
