All you have to do to enter is upload a card you have made using Paper Pretties stamps to the Cutie Pie Contest gallery over at the Paper Pretties website. Entries must be in by no later than 8pmCST on February 28th to be considered for the prize. Besides getting to call yourself a CutiePie, you will also receive all the new stamps that are released on the 1st!! Good luck!!

I was up late and saw that the Inspiration challenge over at SCS had been posted, so I decided to check out the website, Room Service Home. TONS of great stuff, but I was IMMEDIATELY drawn to this GORGEOUS wrapping paper. I knew the colors(slightly modified mind you) would work perfect with my new FAVORITE Cooper set, Love You This Much. Isn't he a DOLL!! I stamped Cooper on Gina K. White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him with my Copics. I used some YUMMY Good Morning Sunshine DSP from SU, along with a bunch of other SU accessories. I of COURSE had to use my new favorite buttons, right? I cut a really thin piece of chocolate chip cardstock to thread through them so they wouldn't be bare. All the ribbons are from SU too. That is it for me now, be sure to check out what the rest of my girls have got in store for you today!!!

I actually made this card back when Taylor had her Anniversary cupcake sketches, but I wasn't able to show it since the Bunny Hop stamp was unavailable..now that she is being released, I can free her for all to see....ahhh, feels good!! I don't know about you all, but when I make something, I HAVE to share it! It kills me to keep my work a secret, so I try not to work to far in advance. With all that I have going on right now, that just wasn't possible!! So anyway, this card was made for Donna Baker's sketch. I used some retired Loves Me DSp from SU to make the squares on the back. The main image is one of the stamps being released on Sunday called Bunny Hop Sophia. She is so CUTTTTEEEE!!! I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Gina K. White paper and then colored her in with my Copics. I did a ton of piercing, used a white gel pen to do some faux stitching, and added brads to the corners. The sentiment was punched out with my Large Oval punch from SU. I just love this stamp, and I hope you do too! Wanna see some more samples for this release, please check out my fellow Pretties who are posting samples today...trust me, you won't be disappointed!!

The Final Peek!!

So here we are at the final day of sneak peeks at the new There She Goes sets...how did that happen??? If you haven't been paying attention or you missed out, we have been doing peeks for the last three days of all the SUPER AWESOME new sets being released by TSG on Sunday March 1st. Today's set is called Nature of Friendship and it is GORGEOUS!! Wanna win this set, all you have to do is leave a comment on the Nature of Friendship blog posts on each of the trendsetters blogs. Then you need to go to Jessica's blog and leave your name in the Mr. Linky box provided. All entries must be in by midnight Friday/Saturday night. Also due Friday night, are your entries into this months Bling it On challenge-to add any kind of bling to your TSG card. Then on Saturday, Jessica will be showing the FULL sets on her blog, and that night, we will be having a release party at Paper Craft Planet from 7to9pm PST.
Enough chatter, now on to the fun stuff!! For my card today, I used one of my FAVORITE papers, Georgia Peach from SU. I stamped the grass with Old Olive ink and the Butterflies with Regal Rose. The other butter fly was made with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I cut it, and it layers out with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties. I then added some ribbon on spiral clips and layered it on top of my DSP panel. I finally used my new border punch from SU..yuummmm!! All the accessories are from SU except for the spiral clips. Well, that is it for me now, now go hop around and see what the other Trendsetters have cooked up for you!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Limited Florals

I saw today's Limited Supplies challenge last night before I went to bed, but I was too tired to play. This was the first thing that I did this morning, since I had all night to think about it!! This card is SUO and I THINK it follows all the rules, which were:

What this week’s challenge entails making your very OWN patterned/designer paper. I get comments on my cards all the time where someone will say “Great DSP!” Funny thing is, I have usually made it myself! Here are the rules:Using only ONE stamp set for your entire creation (yup, you read that right, just ONE), make a card that features patterned paper you make yourself using the images from the stamp set you select. Don’t worry, you can still stamp something as a focal point, I’d just like you to use your hand-stamped patterned paper somewhere on the card.Any sentiments you incorporate must also come from the same ONE stamp set.As far as punches/Nestabilties, diecuts, etc., you may only use these IF you are going to use them as part of your sentiment ONLY! Do not frame/mount any images using punches/diecuts, etc. You CAN, however, handcut any images you want!!And if that weren’t enough, the only embellishments you can use are ribbon and brads. Also, NO Cuttlebugging or texture plates. We want to see your lovely patterned paper!!!How’s that for limited?? I just want to give y’all an opportunity to go back to the basics . . . paper, stamps and ink!! Have fun!!

I used my new Fifth Avenue Florals to make my DP(Black Stazon on Kraft). I then made my main image by stamping the flower in Baja Breeze and then the sentiment over it in Black Stazon. I used my Valet ribbon originals, and two Kraft Corduroy Button Brads....I figured anything with the prongs on the back is a brad, so this TOTALLY counts!! A little bit of piercing and it was done...easy peasy!! I will have three posts today, so if you came straight to this one, you might check out my other two!! Thanks for stopping by!!

TSG Peeks- Day Two

So, here we are at day TWO of the There She Goes Blog Hop sneak peeks. Today we are previewing one set, Slow and Steady, and one mini set, Holiday's Galore. These two sets work so well together, probably because they were made to go together, hehe!! YOU have the chance to win these stamp sets!! All you have to do is leave a comment on EACH of the Trendsetters blogs (listed right above!!). When you are finished, you need to go back to Jessica's blog where you can enter your names in the Mister Linky box. You have until 12:00 AM Saturday to get the Blog Hop Challenge comments in as well as the TSG challenge, which is to "Bling It Out" Sparkle, rhinestones, shimmer, glitter... it all counts for this challenge! For any questions, you can go to Jessica's blog to get the answers!! And don't forget, we will be having a little release party on Saturday night at Paper Craft Planet from 7pm to 9pm PST.
So for my card today, I paired my cutie patootie snail with some Twitterpated paper from Imaginesce. I stamped him on Gina K. white with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him in with my copics. I stamped both the dragonflies separately and then cut them out and added them on. All the accessories are from Stampin Up except for the spiral clips. You can just barely see it, but the white panel at the top was embossed with the swirls folder...so cute!! For the inside of my card, I used a couple of strips of the same DP, and then added my sentiment. The Birthday part of the sentiment is actually from the Mini Holiday's Galore set. I stamped it separately and then punched it out with my word window punch. Well, that is it for me now!! Now it's time for you to go see what the rest of the team has come up with...I am SURE they are all FABULOUS!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!

Let the Fun Begin!!

I am SUPER excited to write this post, why you ask? Because it is my first OFFICIAL peek as a Trendsetter!! There She Goes stamps is releasing 4 new sets on March 1st. Starting today, we will be previewing one set a day(two tomorrow actually, but you will see...so fun!!) until Saturday. On Saturday, Jessica, the owner and FABULOUS designer, will be showing you the full sets and will have more info about when they will be released!! To win this set, you must post a comment on each of the Trendsetters blogs. When you are done, head on over to Jessica's blog and enter your name in the Mr. Linky box. Jessica will be picking and announcing the winners on the 28th as well as the winner of the Bling it On Challenge(just add some bling to any TSG card to enter, be sure to use the TSG04 keyword when uploading too)!! Entries for both must be in by midnight on Friday/Saturday night(technically Saturday, but you get my drift, right?)!! We will also be having a release party chat on Paper Craft Planet from 7pm to 9pmPST on Saturday night, hope to see you there!!
The set we are previewing today is called Blessings and is TOTALLY gorgeous!! I used one of my old favorite color combos, River Rock and Basic Black. When I want to go for a clean, elegant look, it is definitely my fall back!! I embossed the cross on River Rock CS with Black EP. I then cut it out and layered it on my Label One cut outs. I sponged the edges with my River Rock ink pad too. The DP is from the retired Ginger Blossom DSP and the wide Black ribbon came to me from my friend Jody. That is it for me now!! Be sure to leave a comment to be entered to win and don't forget to go to all the other girl's too!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!

Prettie Wednesday- Rule of One's

Before I get into the normal business, Paper Pretties has a TON going on this week. Here are all the details!!

On Sunday March 1st, Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party!! The party starts at 6pm CDT and will last until 9pm. We will be issuing a challenge every hour so be sure to come and play along!! Besides the challenges, chatter, and all around fun, we will also be releasing Bunny Hop Sopia to the public as well as a new stamp set!! Sneak peeks start on Friday, February 27th!! Hope to see you there!!

Cutie Pie Contest:

Paper Pretties is having a release on the March 1st so that means it is time for another CUTIE PIE CONTEST!!! Good luck!!

So, two weeks ago, my former friend Jodi(yep, I said former..anyone who loves me would NOT pose this challenge-TOTALLY KIDDING), challenged the Prettie Girl's to make a card using the Rule of One's. One layer, one image, one embellishment, one sentiment.......EGADDDDDSSSS!!! Now, before you get all freaked out, no, I still luv Jodi, I just am not a one kinda girl...I am more of a 10 or 15 kinda girl!! LOL!! So, anyway, after I was done whineing about it, I decided to use my Gliding By Sophia since she is such a large and GORGEOUS image. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black on Gina K. 120lb white and then embossed a frame around her with my Rectangle Nestabilities and Cuttlebug. I colored her with Copics, added some stickles(which I am TOTALLY counting as a coloring tool) to her trail, and the tied a big silverbow at the top. I promise you, in real life the sentiment is NOT crooked, but for some reason every picture I took of this card LOOKS crooked...grrr. Well, that is it for me for now...have a great day!! Don't forget to go see what the other girls have created for this lovely challenge!!

So....

I should have went to bed, but I decided to do today's sketch first..ya, that was my first mistake. Then I got ink on the bottom of my card, so I had to alter the sketch by adding some ribbon. THEN I stamped my sentiment and it was a tad crooked, so then I had to punch out the sentiment and place it over my booo booo....are you getting where this is going. Yep, this card is full of mistakes(we don't even want to TALK about the brads), but I still {heart} it. I used my Sweet Stems set and paired it with my Raspberry Tart DSP. The images were colored with my SU markers, punched with my square punches from SU, and then popped up. The sentiment is from the SU Really Retro set and all the embellishments came from SU. Ya, now I am TOTALLY going to bed....

A BIG Announcement!!

Back in September of last year, I got asked to be a part of Jessica Knutsen's very first design team for her SUPAH CUTE new stamp line, There She Goes. Due to getting asked to be on the Dirty Dozen for SCS and My Favorite Things...so I had to quit. But guess what??!! Being the SUPER SWEET and AWESOME person that she is, she has allowed me to come back as a Trendsetter(that's what her DT is called ya know)!!! YAYYY!! My last month of the Dirty Dozen is this month, but I was SO anxious to get started, I went ahead and signed back up this month!! I am SUPER excited about the rest of the team too, I will list them all later. Seriously though, TONS of talent!! Starting Wednesday we will start giving peeks at the new sets being released on the 1st, so stay tuned for that, you won't want to miss them!!

This month's TSG challenge is to BLING IT OUT! So bring out your rhinestones, glitter, sparkle pens, stickles and everything else that you can use to bling out your card. Use TSG stamps and you will be entered to win a free NEW RELEASE stamp set! You have until Saturday 12:00 AM Est. to get those challenge projects in! Please use the keyword TSG04 and be sure to go to Jessica's blog and put your link in her Mr. Linky thingie!!hehe

Over the weekend, the current DT members asked all their blog readers to tell them what questions they would ask if they could ask a DT member anything. Here are the top 10 questions along with my answers......enjoy(which is the theme of my card...clever aren't I, LOL)

1. What do you typically start a project with? What's picked first: stamps, embellishments, DP, colors.....?
Normally for me, I start with the stamps and then paper, the rest works itself out from there!!

2. Do you give away your cards, sell them, send them or hoard them? Or all of the above?? I have recently sold a few, but that is DEFINITELY not the normal. I have quite a few here that REALLY need to be mailed out..but normally I send them all out or give them to family…I like to share the love!!

3. If you could design your own stamp or stamp set, what would it be?
Yikes, well in that area, I am pretty much a loss, but if I had the skills to do that, it would be a dog set that would include a Miniature Pekingese. That is what my dog Sophie is and she is just SO CUTE!! IMHO.

4. Where do you get your inspiration?
What usually gets me going is a good sketch or color challenge.

5. How do you balance your stamping time with your personal time/work/kids/etc.?
Ya, if you figure that out, let me know because right now I am a total loser at that,LOL!!

6. What is your favorite embellishment?
Asking me to pick ONE favorite embellishment would be like asking me to pick which one of my nieces or nephews is my favorite….impossible decision so it is never gonna happen!!

7. What is something that not a lot of people know about you?
If I told you, I would have to kill you….

8. On average how long does it take to create one of these fabulous cards we see each week??
An hour is about the average, sometimes more, RARELY less…..

9. What is your favorite coloring medium?
At the moment, I am enjoying my copics, but up until a month or two ago, I would have DEFINITELY said my SU markers. I am still more comfortable with those, but I love the variety of colors that you can get with the Copics.

10. What time of day do you prefer to do your creating?
I am DEFINITELY a night time stamper…which can be a problem because I tend to stay up WAY to late!!

Well, there you have it...more than you really wanted to know right!! Anywho, here is a quick card that I made using the Let's Get Together set....LOVE it!! I paired it with my Good Morning Sunshine DSP from SU, as well as Pacific Point and Chocolate Chip. I used the Mojo Monday sketch for my card too. All the accessories are from SU, except the spiral clips. I colored the cup with Copics and then paper pieced the band. Well, that is it for me now...check out the rest of the team's blogs to see how they answered the questions...you know you want to!!

Retro WOOOW!!

Okay, so when I saw the CRAZY color challenge that Emily(with the help of Jenn Balcer) came up with, I was skeeerrrred. It is so BRIGHT and SCREAMS 70's kitchen to me...total Tupperware colors, am I wrong?? I know I am a TAD young to REALLY remember, but I remember the Tupperware!!LOL!! Anywho, when I saw the combo, I automatically thought of my new Good Friend set. I stamped the bird three times with Summer Sun and cut two of them out. One I just glued on, the other I popped up. I added the beak and legs with Pumpkin Pie. I layered it with those two colors and Kiwi Kiss....yeaoooooW!! Since it felt retro, I used a sentiment from my new Really Retro sentiment set from SU. I paired it with some Good Morning Sunshine DP and Kiwi and Pumpkin ribbons. The buttons are from SU and are Summer Sun....finally, I know why I bought them!! Welp, better go, the boy is getting restless and I didn't get to see him very much yesterday so I have missed him!! See you around!!

Oh, and by the way.....this card IS SUO!!!!WAHOOO!! Go me...I refrained from the normal spiral clips and embossing that throw me off...yayy me!!

Rubber Band Stamping

So, I didn't read all the directions on today's Technique Lover's Challenge, and I did it wrong, but I did it and that's all that matters right. I got the general idea of it...you wrap rubber bands around an acrylic block, ink them up, stamp them on CS and then add ink with a sponge dauber around them(I believe you have to emboss it first...so an embossing ink is recommended). I just saw about wrapping the rubber bands, so I did that and stamped it on a piece of my Bella Birds DSP to add something to it....and I actually liked it, so I decided to use it anyway!! I used Chocolate Chip ink to stamp the rubber bands and to sponge the edges. The main image is from Eastern Influences and was stamped on Whisper White and colored with my SU markers. I then cut it, and it's layers out with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties....SU REALLY needs to make some sort of oval die cut, but anyway. I then sponged the edges and of that too. The flower was colored and stamped twice and then popped up. The card stock colors are So Saffron and Chocolate Chip. All my accessories are from SU, except the spiral clips, or course!! I almost forgot....the sketch is Jen's Sketch For You To Try from this weekend too!! That is it for me now...Jared is here and demanding my attention!! Have a great day!!

FS SgtStamper...yayyy!!

So, I don't really know her all that well, but when I saw that Jami(SgtStamper) was the Featured Stamper this weekend, I was so excited!! She is so talented and is SO SWEET!! She always leaves the nicest comments on my, and so many others work!! I chose this card of Jami's to CASE. I changed the main image, but kept it a Bella, the colors, embellishments, and sentiment. I changed a lot, but I think you can still see the similarities between the two cards. For my main image, Matilda Muffinbread, I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Gina K. 120lb white card stock. I then colored it with my Copics and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to her wings with my two way glue pen. All of my embellishments are from SU, except the white organdy, which is from SU, but retired. The DP is from Sassafrass Lass and I paired it with Cool Caribbean and Regal Rose. Isn't this such a CUTE image!! Love it!! Well, that is it for me now, have a great day!!

True Friend...

Is it just me or is this card a little bright???LOL!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE it, I really do, I am just always SHOCKED by the BRIGHTNESS of Pacific Point. I will be honest, I really tried to add another color to this..Pumpkin Pie to be specific, but it was fighting with me, so I gave up. The combo is gorgeous, I just couldn't get it to work with this stamp set. I am still pretty excited about all my new SU goodies, so when I saw today's Inspiration challenge, I knew I wanted to use this set. I love the butterfly in it, and I thought it would work perfect for this challenge. I chose one of the samples that she gave us to look at from the Flutter website, but I went a tiny bit brighter. I stamped the butterfly from Simple Friendship with Rose Red ink and cut it out. I then cut it out and added it to my sentiment panel. Sadly, this panel was cut out with my Oval Nesties, so it makes it NOT an SUO card..but it is close!! I then layered it with my two colors, added some piercing, and a spiral clip with ribbon on it. For this card, I followed Taylor's Cupcake Sketch from today. The DP is from the Raspberry Tart and Good Morning Sunshine DSP. All the accessories, with the exception of the spiral clip, are from SU. Well, that is it for me now...gotta get to bed!! Thanks for stopping by!!

The Gambler

When I saw this months Dirty Dozen/Dirty Dozen Alumni challenge, I had to laugh. My DH is a huge country fan, and he mostly only listens to the old stuff. One of his favorite songs is The Gambler by Kenny Rogers. I decided I would be nice and put that song on my iPod for the next time we were in the car together....he made me listen to it about 25 times in a row...it got deleted as soon as I got home. Not that there is anything wrong with the song, but after 25times I was DONE. Anywho, you probably want to know why I am babbling about that, right? Well, here are the directions that Jami set forth for us this month:

Know When to Fold 'em!

You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em,Know when to walk away and know when to run.You never count your money when youre sittin' at the table. There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.

Challenge Focus: Cards/Poker/Games/Gambling/Luck - anything loosely related - just tell us how it relates.

Required Element: A card made with other than a standard fold (think joy fold, z-fold, tri-fold, accordion, hinge card, etc.)

Restricted Element: No buttons. (Yes we know buttons are *hot* right now.)

So, now I guess is the part where I try to convince you that it is related, right? Well, personally, I don't think it was THAT far a stretch, so here goes. Gambling, if you win, you are fortunate-fortune cookie....get it. Plus they have lucky numbers on the back right?? There are also other reasons why I think this will fit, but lets keep it PG, kay?!! Easy enough, right, one would think so, but I had my card COMPLETELY done and forgot to do a fancy fold so I had to scrap the base and start over. Luckily, I only had to do the main image panel once. I used Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketch for my card along with the Paper Pretties stamp set, Flirty Fortunes. I colored my fortune cookie twice, cut one out and glued it on for a tiny bit of dimension. I used two different DP's, both from the SU Patterns Pack from last catalog, and some of the yummy new silver brads. The embossing was done with my Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots folder...and just in case you can't tell, this card is a gatefold. Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Dear Friend

I was up late, way way way too late, and I decided that I would knock out a card for today's Limited Supplies Challenge. The challenge was to make a card using Green, 3 or less layers and only 2 embellishments. You also got "bonus" points if you used DP. Done, done, done, and DONE!! I used Corduroy Buttons from SU and some of the Valet Ribbon Originals as my two embellishments. I stuck to three layers( the white and DP layer is technically only one because I cut them in half and connected them with the ribbon) too!! I used one of my FAVORITE color combos, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Black along with Whisper White. The stamp set is the new Central Park set and the Dp is from the Urban Oasis pack. Okay, now I HAVE to get to bed!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! I will be back later with my DD/DDA monthly challenge!!

Praying For You

I know I have seen this set all over the place, but seriously, it is SO gorgeous I could look at it all day. I know that I have said it recently, but SU REALLY knocked it out of the park with this catalog. I have NEVER(since 2002) been more pleased with the selection of stamp sets, paper and embellishments. I just wish I didn't like it all so much...makes me broke, LOL!! Good thing I have kept up with my monthly minimums so I at least get a discount, right??!! Anyway, I was stalking the Ways to Use It challenge waiting for my nephew to get here, and when I saw it was to use stripes, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. In fact, I was going to make this exact card today, no matter what the challenge was because I couldn't stand to have it trapped in my head any longer. I stamped the tree from Thoughts and Prayers with Chocolate Chip ink along with the sentiment, and then layered it with Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip. I added some piercing and buttons from the Button Latte and Bouquet collections. I did add some hemp to the holes, so Miss Jody wouldn't yell at me..hehe. The white ribbon is from the Dress Up Ribbon Originals and the Chocolate is just the wide grosgrain. I paired it with Kiwi Kiss DSP as well as Chocolate Chip. I saw a card with this sketch on Cindy's blog yesterday, and even though I had used the sketch before, I knew it was PERFECT for the card I had seen in my head...believe it or not, the card I had in my head would have only been two layers...we can't have that, LOL!! Well, Jared is here now and demanding my attention. In the last two weeks he has decided to crawl(more of an Army crawl but still), become VERY good with his walker, and sit up on his own.....MAKE HIM SLOW DOWN!!
Have a great day!!

Prettie Wednesday- A Color Challenge

So, two weeks ago I challenge the Prettie Girls to make a card using one of my new FAVORITE color combo's: Rose Red, Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss. I wanted to use March's Stamp of the Month, Sophia Ballerina before we have to put her away for a month...which may kill me. I colored her with my Copic makers, added some Perfect Pearls to her skirt and then layered her with the challenge colors. I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try from this weekend for my card too. The DP is from SU's Raspberry Tart pack, as are all the embellishements. I did have to add the sentiment panel...but I think Jen will forgive me. Seriously, this is my FAVORITE Sophia...no really, she is(for now...hehe). Wanna play along? Just make a card using this GORGEOUS color combo and leave a link on this post showing us what you made!!
Also, we are getting ready for our next release on March 1st, so that means it is time for another Cutie Pie contest. This month's contest is open until February 28th at 8pmCST. Just be sure to post your card using Paper Pretties stamps in the Paper Pretties Cutie Pie Contest gallery at the Paper Pretties website. The winner will not only take over the Cutie Pie title, but will receive ALL the new release stamps for FREE!! WAHOO!!
Okay, that is it for me now...go check out the other girls to see what they have done with my challenge!! Should be amazing if I know my girls!!

A Friendly Sketch

So, I don't know about you, but I REALLY think that SU knocked it out of the park with this new catalog. I haven't been this excited about my new stamps in who knows how long!! Don't get me wrong, I have always loved SU, and besides a FEW colors from PTI, and my addiction to Gina K.'s white cardstock, I am pretty loyal about paper and embellishments. Before I went to bed last night, I saw today's sketch challenge....I woke up at 5:30am DYING to stamp. For those of you that know me, I am mainly a nighttime stamper. Very rarely do I ever stamp something during the daytime. But once I got this card in my head, I had to make it. I am not sure that it was what I was planning on it looking like..but I still love it. I started with my Parisian Breeze paper and the Friends 24-7 stamp set. I colored the image with my SU markers and then sponged the edges. The flowers were stamped twice and then cut out and popped up. The ribbon is from the Valet ribbon Originals. I added a sentiment panel, but I think it is still close enough to the sketch to count...don't you? Of course, what would a card be without a ton of piercing and some yummy Chocolate Chip brads, so I had to add those too. Well, that is it for me now..thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

My Favorite Things is TWISTED!!

SO, even though I WORK for the USPS, they have it in for me and somewhere along the line they are holding my NEW set from My Favorite Things hostage. That's right, it was lost along the way, so sadly, I didn't get to be in this weeks hop...WAHHHH!!! I was SO HOPING that my mailman would come today with a package from Kim showering me with Twisted Love, but no such luck!! So since I couldn't play in the hop, I decided to make a card of my own using this past Thursday's My Favorite Things sketch and the ORIGINAL Twisted Sentiments set. I stamped the packages from the You Take the Cake set from MFT. I was forced(forced I tell you) to stamp it on Very Vanilla with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored it with my Copic markers. I cut it and it's layers(Rose Red and Buckaroo Blue) with my Circle Nestabilities and Cuttlebug. I then added a spiral clip with some Vanilla Taffeta on it. The DP is from the Imaginesce Happy Birthday line. The Vanilla brads are from SU. I stamped the sentiment and then cut it out and layered it on my punched circles. I think it is super cute...and I love that sentiment..cracks me up!!
So, if you are up to it, and not afraid(some of them are pretty racy), head on out to see what the girls have cooked up with the NEW set!! The hop starts at Kim's blog and ends with a BANG, trust me!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Cheep Talk

I was up late and saw that the color challenge over at SCS was posted, so I thought I would stay up and play...now I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open to type..nice. Anyway, when I first saw this set in the new catalog I didn't think that I needed it. But after seeing all the SUPAH CUTE samples on SCS, I decided that I did need it after all...fickle aren't I, LOL!! Isn't it CUTE!! I made this card for today's SCS Color Challenge-Rose Red, More Mustard and Kiwi Kiss, and Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I stamped the bird in black once on my branch, and then again in More Mustard, cut it out, and glued it on. I also did some of the leaves twice to give them just a tiny bit of dimension. This card was pretty simple though, so if you have any questions, feel free to email me or ask in your comments!! Now I REALLY need to get to bed....YIKES!!

I Did IT!!

So, if you are familiar with my blog, and you actually read my posts, you probably already know that I am not a technique-y sorta girl. I love to look, but never make....don't know why though, guess it is just who I am. When I saw that today's Technique Lover's Challenge at SCS was to make this cute LITTLE round top box, I decided to go for it...it couldn't hurt that much right? So I used the template from the challenge, and printed it out on white paper. I then cut it out and traced it onto Kraft paper. I wanted to play in Danielle's Weekly Challenge for Paper Pretties, so I had to use Kraft, White and one other color....obviously, since I am in LOVE with it, I chose Pink Pirouette. I cut it out of the Kraft paper and used my Scor Pal to score the fold lines. I then trace JUST the rounded back onto a piece of Kraft DSP and cut it out a tiny bit smaller than the back of the box to give it a layer. For the box, I used some Memento Rich Cocoa ink to stamp my cookies all over the box. I then added a piece of wide Pink Pirouette grosgrain around the hole base. On top of that, I added my sentiment, which was cut out using my Cuttlebug and the Ribbon Slide tag dies from Spellbinders. My main image is from the Paper Pretties set, Sweets for the Sweet. I stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa and then colored it with my Copics. I added some piercing, and buttons from SU. The filling inside was a strip of Pink Pirouette that I ran through my crimper and then cut in tiny strips with my paper cutter.

Well, the native(Jared, hehe) is getting restless so I better go!! Be sure to check out both challenges and have a great day!!

FS106 JulieMLacey!!

YAYYYY!!! My girl Julie is this weeks FEATURED STAMPER!! Wahooo!!! I am SO happy for her!! As soon as I saw she was chosen, I went STRAIGHT to her gallery to oogle her GOODIES(hehe)!! I chose this card immediately, cause I just got the SU Humor in High Heels set and I REALLY wanted to use it!! I stamped the purse on Whisper White and then cut it, and the larger white layer out with my Label One nesties(so it is another ALMOST SUO). I stamped my sentiment with Black Stazon ink and paper pieced the purse. The ovals are actually two of each color, Kiwi Kiss and Rose Red, glued together so that they would stick out each side. My image was a tiny bit to big for the smallest Label die, so I had to improvise!! I used my FAV paper, Raspberry Tart DSP and paired it with some Rose Red ribbon and Kiwi Kiss ribbon. I did add some piercing too, cause let's face it...it's a sickness!!
So, have you seen who the new DIRTIES are....if not, you better go check it out!! What do you want to bet there is a STORY to be heard!!(that is a total hint by the way...)

PHEWWW!!!

So I FINALLY got all my DD projects uploaded, and I am THRILLED with this months gallery!! Wait until you see the new girls, you are gonna FLIP!! Anywho, I decided, since my SBFF, Jodi, was this weeks Cupcake Sketch Sampler, that I HAD to play along!! Jodi is CONSTANTLY using this set, Crazy for Cupcakes, from SU, so of course I had to buy it. Even though I have had it for months, this is my first time using it-SHAMEFUL!! I paired the image with my some paper from the SAB Delicate Dots pack, along with the matching ribbon bundle!! The image was colored with my Copics, cut out with my Circle Nesties and Cuttlebug, and then added to he card base. I used Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Bashful Blue CS with it. I did a lot of piercing, added some white brads-FROM SU(finally they get a clue), and it was done!! That is it for me now!! Thanks for looking!!

Ways to Use Fabric...

So, I am NOT a sewer, even though I REALLY want to be. My mom is AMAZING at all that stuff, she quilts, she used to make our clothes, she makes the coolest stuff for decorations, she even did all the alterations for my wedding....but not me, I can't sew a straight line. My next stamping purchase is GOING to be a Janome, but until then, I am NOT a sewer(and I may not be one after I get it, but I am going to TRY)!! When I saw today's Ways to Use It challenge, I figured I wouldn't be able to play, but then I remembered these GORGEOUS Cotton Scraps that I got from Crafty Secrets. They are so easy to work with, and although it would be better to sew mine down, I used red line tape to attach it to my Really Rust card stock. I then added some brads to the corners and used my Making Memories edge distressor to rough up the edges of the card stock. For the fabric, I just used my fingernail to give the edge a semi frayed look...not to much, but some. For the Chocolate Chip scalloped layer, I used my long rectangle Nesties, but I didnt' have one that fit perfect, so I cut it in half and overlapped them..you can't even tell!! The DP is from the SU Autumn Vine DSP, and I added some Chocolate Chip and Mustard grosgrain to it. This card was SUPER simple, but Jared is here, so it took a few hours to get it all done, LOL!! Speaking of Jared, today he is 8months old!! Where has the time gone??? Isn't he getting so big and CUTE!! This first picture is him in his Valentines shirt..it says Lovasaurus..too CUTE!! This second picture was what he looked like when I took the blanket off his carseat this morning. ADORABLE!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
