Prettie Peeks, Day Two!

So, I am running WAY behind this morning, but I wanted to get this card I made posted fast(in reality, I just got done making it, but I REALLY need to be on the road already!!). I used the one of the SOON TO BE RELEASED sets(Baby Jesus is from the Nativity set and the sentimente is from the Adore Him set) from Paper Pretties for my card. The sketch is Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, and my colors are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and some yummy Ski Slope DSP. The ribbon is also from the SU mini catalog(along with the paper) and is part of the Alpine originals. My image was colored with SU markers and the cut out and layered using my Cuttlebug and Nesties. I sponged the edges of all the layers and also the card base. I did a lot of piercing and added a bunch of silver brads. The olive layer was also run through the Cuttlebug with my distressed stripes folder to give it some texture. Aren't the new sets FABULOUS!!! The Pretties are really outdoing themselves this release, be sure to check them out(links in my sidebar)! So, here is all the info you need to know!!

Prettie Peeks!!

So, I know you have seen this set before, but I have had this card made since the LAST release and I have been DYING to post it!! I just love this little angel!! I made this for one of the last PJ party challenges, so some people have seen it, but I still love it, so I am posting!! The challenge was to use Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze. I stamped my Angel Wings Sophia on Very Vanilla and then colored her with my aqua painter and re-inkers. I then layered her with the challenge colors and pierced a border around the corners. The DP is from the Bella Rose DSP and all the brads came from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts, as well as that GORGEOUS pink ribbon. My Sentiment comes from the retired SU Season's Greetings set. I did add liquid applique to the bottom of her dress. This stamp, which was last month's stamp of the month, is being released Saturday, November 1st at 7pmCST(can you BELIEVE it is November already??), along with four new Christmas sets that you are gonna HAVE to have once you see them!! As soon as I saw them, I was bouncing around in my chair!! Here is all the info you need to have about what all is going on at Paper Pretties!!

Adventure...

That is one of the words I would use to describe marriage, wouldn't you?? My BIL is getting married this weekend, so I really needed a card for him and my new SIL. I decided that I would use the sketch challenge from today to make their card. They are having a fall themed wedding, complete with pumpkin centerpieces, so I used a more "fall" color scheme. I tried to go SU only on this one, but I just love my organdy ribbon and spiral clips, so I ALMOST made it, does it count is SU used to sell it? hmmm. Anyway, I stamped my flower from Bloomin' Beautiful twice, colored both the flowers in and then cut one out. My squares are 1 1/2in at the largest layer and then a 1/4 step down for the other layers. My image was colored with my SU markers. I layered them with Old Olive and Bravo Burgundy. The paper is from SU and is part of the Parisian Summer DSP, isn't it GORGEOUS!! I am not a huge fan of Blavo Burgundy, but I LOVE this paper and I LOVE this card, so what can you do?? I added some piercing around the edges and the corners of the image panels and silver brads to the top and bottom. My sentiment is from the Sweet Serendipity set and was stamped with Bravo Burgundy. I punched it out with my designer label punch and used some Stylized Silver hardware to frame it. The ribbon on the spiral clips is vanilla taffeta and around the middle it is burgundy wide grosgrain as well as my olive organdy. I am super excited about this card, mostly because I have been in a stamping funk here lately...but I think I am starting to recover, what do you think? Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!
I will leave you with some SUPAH cute pics of my ADORABLE nephew...seriously, could he get any cuter??!! Carolina, do you see anything you recognize( LOVE THE BIB YOU SENT!!)!!

What's Up Wednesday Challenge

Did you know that every Wednesday, My Favorite Things has a What's Up Wednesday challenge as well as a chat thread and special sale? Well, now you do!! Today's What's Up Wednesday Challenge was hosted by Joanne(basilefamily) and her challenge to us to emboss something on your card. You could heat emboss your image, use some sort of dry embossing, stamp and emboss a background, change the color of an embellie by embossing it etc! Lots of possibilities. For WUW Kim thought it would be fun to add a free Perfect Palette to all orders over $40, today through midnight Friday! Simply mention Perfect Palette in the comments section of your order and she will add one in! If you don't add the text, they might not remember (sigh...)! So don't forget!! Part of Joanne's challenge, besides embossing, was to use one of the Anne Lapoint images on your card as well. I decided to use one of my favorites, Chill Out. I love the polkadots on the tub, they are so cute!! I colored my image with SU re-inkers and SU markers. It was then outlined with my Prismacolor Cool Grey Marker. I layered my image with Bashful Blue, Old Olive and Perfect Plum. The white layer was cut out with my Cuttlebug and Rectangle Nestabilities. I added some silver brads to the end of the rectangle as well as all of my embossed panels. My sketch is a past MFT sketch that I thought I hadn't done, but I did, oh well!! Each panel was embossed with a different folder.
So, I really need to get back to my stamp table!! Thanks for stopping by again and have a great day!!

Prettie Wednesday-Brayer

So, two weeks ago, Jackie R. challenged us to make a card using our brayers, something I rarely ever break out!! I thought about cheating, but felt guilty, so I went ahead and used my brayer to create the paper that I cut Sophia's overalls out of. This stamp is called Falling For You and you can find it in the Paper Pretties store. Before I get more into the card, here is a TON of Paper Pretties info you need to know!!
First, Cutie Pie Contest!!
How would you like to be Paper Pretties Cutie Pie? I thought you would!! All you have to do is make a card using your Paper Pretties stamps and upload it to the Cutie Pie Contest gallery on the
Paper Pretties forum, and Christie will chose a winner from the entries. Besides being able to call yourself a Cutie Pie, you will also win the entire release!! You have until October 31st at 8pmCST to get your entries in!! Good luck!!

Okay, with all that out of the way, onto my card. After brayering my glossy cardstock with my Pumpkin Patch spectrum pad, I stamped my image on it and cut out just the overalls. I then layered them on my image I had stamped on Whisper White with Black Stazon. The rest of the image was colored with my SU markers and then outlined with my Prismacolor cool grey marker. The image was then cut out and layered with Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip(all layers were cut out with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties). I then added a pewter spiral clip to each side, one with pumpkin striped and one with Kiwi striped ribbon. The white layer was run through the Cuttlebug with my new hounds tooth embossing folder and then layered with Kiwi and Chocolate. The bottom layer is some Chocolate Chip patterns DSP. I added my sentiment and some pewter brads to the top and bottom. The layers were connected with some wide stitched Chocolate Chip ribbon. This weeks challenger is Julie, who just got back from the Stampin Cruise, I am sure it will be a great one!! Be sure to blurf around and check out what the other Pretties have been up to!! Thanks and have a great day!!

I Am SOOOO...

not feeling this card, but I have another whirlwind day today, and really wanted to get something posted!! Does my BIL not understand that I am busy at the end of the month with releases and such??? Nope, he just HADDDD to go ahead and schedule his wedding....LOL!! Anyway, I made this card for today's color challenge. I really wanted to use my Pick Of the Patch stamp set from Paper Pretties, so I had to figure out a way to use the Pixie Pink from the challenge with this super cute image of Cooper.......yikes!! So what I have decided is that Cooper is a great little brother to his sister Sophia, and he is holding her candy bag for her. That is why it is pink(does ANYONE out there buy this??)!! So, since I have a fear of bright colors and I am definitely NOT a fan of Pixie Pink, I used as little of it as I possibly could!! For the rest of the image I used a combination of my SU markers and my SU reinkers and blender pens. People are under the false impression that I color with copics, but I totally don't(atleast not yet...they are so tempting, just look at all the colors)!! Anyway, I used some super cute brads from Pink Hedgehog, and my DP is from the SU DSP Bella Rose. I added some Tangerine Tango and Kiwi Kiss ribbon from SU and it was done. I made this card(in theory) for my nephew to give to his parents(yes, I know he is only 4 months....but who cares!!). For those of you that might have been concerned about him(see previous post), he made it through the night great and is on his way here now!!YAYY!!

So, I leave you with some announcements!! Paper Pretties is having its monthly Cutie Pie contest!! Be sure to get you entries uploaded to the Paper Pretties gallery under Cutie Pie submissions by October 31st at 8pmCST. Besides getting to call yourself a Cutie Pie, you will also be recieving 4 new stamp sets that we will be releasing on November 1st(stay tuned for sneak peeks...yayyyy), as well as, Angel Wings Sophia. If you need any help getting your entries in the gallery, just email me at jessi96@yahoo.com and I will do what I can to get them into the right gallery!!
That is it for me now, thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Some MORE Birthday RAK's!!

So, I got a few more RAK's in the mail and I wanted to share them with you!! We took my nephew Jared to get his shots today, and if you remember from last time, he had a bad reaction to one of the shots, but they weren't sure which one, so today has been stressful to say the least!! Instead of getting the normal three immunization shots(apparently there are way more then just 3 immunizations-one of those shots holds 5 vaccines, geez), he got two-one for each leg. As of right now, he has had no reaction beyond the normal "how could you let them do this to me, I thought you liked me, owie my leg hurts" fussing, he is doing GREAT......PHEWWWW!!! What a relief!! Also, my BIL is getting married this week, so I will be extra busy for the next few days trying to get ready for that...my MIL is FREAKIN out!!LOL!! Anyway, I got this GORGEOUS card in the mail from my friendhttp://bevithia.blogspot.com/ Bev. It is amazing how you get to know people on SCS just through commenting and such. It started with comments on each others cards, and then we were on the There She Goes team at the same time...and I think we "talked" at a release party once, and the rest as they say, is history!! Isn't this FAB!! Thanks Bev, I love it!!

My next card came from my fellow Prettie Girl, Danielle(dlounds). How TALENTED is she!!! Along with being a fellow Prettie Girl, and our FABULOUS challenge girl(at the Paper Pretties forum), she is also on the Great Swaps Girls with me!! Thank you so much Danielle, I love it!!

This next card came from the SUPER talented and SUPER sweet illustrator for Paper Pretties, Joni Stringfield. She is BEYOND talented and so fabulous!! Thanks Joni, I love it!!

Finally, this JAW dropping GORGEOUS card came to me from Chat(nitestamper). When I opened it up, it took my breath away....there is just something about her style that I LOVE!! The colors are gorgeous and her work is meticulous!! Thanks Chat, I love it!!

That is all for me now..I am waiting for my second wind to see if I can muster up enough energy to stamp!!

Free Snow

Tonight was my soon to be SIL's bachelorette party and I am pooped!! I have to take my MIL for some last minute shopping before the wedding, so I am gonna make this short and sweet!! This is my card for today's Featured Stamper challenge. The Featured Stamper is Kay(speedystamper). She has a FABULOUS gallery!! I chose this card to CASE. I changed everything but the layout!! My chocolate paper is from the Bella Rose DSP and the red paper is from the Ski Slope DSP. I layered them with Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip and Riding Hood Red. My images(aren't they CUTE) are from the Whipper Snapper set, Snowman For Peace. I colored it in with my SU markers and outlined it with my Prismacolor Cool Grey 20% marker. After layering it and adding the piercings and cute snowflake brads(thanks Lee), I added some liquid applique to the snow and crystal effects to the snowballs. My ribbon is all from SU except the green gingham which is from JoAnns. Well, that is it for me now, thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Inspired By Bedding

So, I should totally be in bed right now, but I saw the inspiration challenge, and I was inspired!! I chose this photo to be inspired by,

although I did pull from one of the other beds too, but mainly this one!! I used my new Beautiful You set from Verve Stamps as well as their Fluttering By. I stamped the butterflies in Rose Red and then colored them in with my Pink Pirouette re-inker and a blender pen. The DSP is from the Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss Patterns Pack and the other paper is from the retired Rose Red DSP. I added a TON(seriously, my hand is numb) of piercing and a large white brad to each square. The ribbon is from SU and is the new Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon, gorgeous!! Well, I am gonna keep this short, cause I really need to be in bed!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Limited Pink Leaves

So, for today's Limited Supplies challenge we were challenged to make a card with leaves on it and some pink somewhere but you had to use Autumn colors too. YIKES!! I decided to use my Branching Out set from There She Goes. I used my SU markers to color the leaves in, which is where my pink comes in...I used Cameo Coral with Really Rust for a few of the leaves. I then outlined my whole image with a Cool Gray Prismacolor 20%marker( I get asked this A LOT, and I always forget to say it, so there you go). The layers were cut out with my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties. I added a spiral clip with some sage and chocolate grosgrain. The sentiment was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink and then it and it's layers were punched out with my word window punch. The DP is from the Autumn Vine DSP by SU, and I added some piercing, silver brads, and sage ribbon. The card base(sage layer) was run through the Cuttlebug with my new argyle folder. I did use Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge for this card too!!
In other news, guess who spent the night last night...that's right, my super sweet and cuddly nephew Jared!! I am EXHAUSTED!!LOL!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

I'm Pulling For You

Hello again, I'm BACK!! Jared has been SUPER today, so I was able to get some more stamping time in..gotta love that!! In fact, I was even able to get to the post office and get a ton of stuff mailed out....so happy he is getting bigger and starting to have more good days than bad. Anyway, I decided to work on today's My Favorite Things Sketch. This weeks sketch was created by Cindy, and is super fabulous!! On the actual sketch, there are three panels under the main image, I did two with my Bella Rose DSP and then left the "third" on blank so I could stamp my sentiment. Now I know what you are thinking, it looks like one big panel...don't blame me...blame that super wide FABULOUS ribbon!! I stamped my Flopsey on Whisper White and colored him in with my SU markers, re inkers and blender pen(okay, so by now, you are totally sensing a pattern...I haven't cleaned my stamp table since Tuesdays color challenge...baddd stamper, that is why ALL my cards have the same supplies mostly...LOL). I added a spiral clip with some chocolate chip grosgrain and pink gingham to the top corner as well as some flowers from the SU Felt Fusion 2 set. My white brads came from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts....did you know that they sell brads and ribbon to match almost all the SU colors....AWESOME!! I got the Neutrals set and got the white brads you see here along with Vanilla, Sand, and a couple other colors...VERY cool. Well, that is all for me for now...I have tons of commenting and blurfing and all of that to do, and Jared is still being good, so busy busy!! Thanks for stopping by again and have a great day!!! Oh yaaaaaa, this will be going to the SCS card drive too....be sure to check it out!! Details in my last post or at the SCS homepage!

Hope

So, unless you live under a rock, you are probably aware of the fact that this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. On SCS, they are dedicated this weeks challenges to the cause, so it is Pink Week on SCS. All of the weekly challenges have a pink theme(optional of course), and if you choose, which I totally do, you can send your creations into the chosen organization, which is Chemo Angels. Since I am terrible about explaining things, here is the link to the front page story at SCS, and it will link you on further to the details. Today's Ways To Use It challenge was to focus on just one word on your card. You were allowed to include a main image too, as long as there was only one word on the card. I chose Hope(from my NEW Hampton Arts sentiment set Lee sent me), because honestly, it says it all. My image is from Stamping Bella, and is called Causabella. I stamped Bella twice; once on Whisper White and once on my Bella Rose DSP. I paper pieced the dress and then colored the rest with my SU markers, re inkers, and a blender pen. The colors on this card are Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red. I did a lot of piercing and added a ton of silver brads. The panel under the image is some more Bella Rose DSP and it has a piece of the new Pink Pirouette ribbon from SU as well as a piece of red taffeta. I used one of the ribbon slides from the Stylized Silver Hardware as well as a square frame. My sentiment panel was created using my Scallop Square Punch, a 1 in square piece of Pink Pirouette, and my white Hope panel that was punched out with my Large Oval Punch. By the way, my sketch is from Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday Sketch from this week. Hopefully, my nephew will stay asleep long enough for me to work on the MFT sketch challenge, it is awesome!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

This card was sent to me by my friend, and fellow Prettie Girl, Julie Masse(jmasse). Jules and I have gotten to know each other through Paper Pretties and I am SO happy to have met her. I have to admit, I am a tad bit jealous, seeing as she is on the Stamping Cruise, but this card made me feel a little better......acccckkk who am I kidding...I SO wish I was there!! Thanks Jules, I love it!!

My final card and super awesome bunch of goodies was sent to me by my friend Lee(luvlee). Lee is such a sweet person, and always leaves the best comments both here and on SCS. She is constantly showering someone with love and even sent a present for my nephew!! How cool is that??!! Thanks so much Lee, I love my card...that image is TOO CUTE!!

YAYYYYYY!!

So little old computer challenged me FINALLY fixed my laptop!!!!! YAYYYY!! I gotta tell you, having computer trouble or car trouble can just about drive you to drinking!! I hate it when something happens to either one, cause lets face it girls, when it comes to mechanical things, I SUCK!! However, if you needed a nice spiral clip or brad or maybe even a bow added to it, I am your girl!!LOL!!
So, Prettie Wednesday is back on!!LOL!! Two weeks ago I challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card that SPARKLED!! I wanted glitter and lots of it!! For my card, which is on it's way to Jules(tomorrow I promise) who is away on the cruise...lucky girl!! I stamped my Trim The Tree Sophia on watercolor paper with Black Stazon and colored her in with my SU markers. She was then cut out with my Oval Nestabilities and layered with Not Quite Navy and Whisper White. The GORGEOUS, and oh so SHIMMERY paper is from Heidi Grace...YUMMMM. I added some ribbon from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts and tied it in a bow. The flowers are from Michael's and are layered two together then a NQN brad was placed in the middle of them. Her dress belt and ornament are covered with silver gel pen and the whole image is coated with Perfect Pearls. Hopefully, you can see it cause we all know sparkle is hard to capture in a photograph!! This weeks challenger is Jackie Pedro, her first time as challenger, how exciting!! Now on to the real business....wanna know how you can get this stamp before it is released to the public....I thought you would!! Go to Paper Pretties and sign up for the Stamp of the Month club. By signing up, you will be eligible to receive this stamp a month before it is actually released in December. Make sure to tell them I sent you though!!

If you want to play along, and we SOOO wish you would, make your card and leave a link on one of the Prettie Girls blogs so that we can see it!! Speaking of Prettie Girls, be sure to check out what they have in store for you!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Some More Birthday RAK's

Here are some more of the fabulous RAK's that I received for my birthday!! This first one came from one of the Paper Pretties guest designers, Stephanie Hargis. Stephanie is one of the SWEETEST people I have ever met and super talented to boot!! Thanks Stephanie for the fabulous birthday wishes!!
My next card came to me from my friend, and fellow DD member, Carole Burrage(trucarma). This card is flippin FANTASTIC!! I have always admired her way with color, she puts together some of the brightest colors ever, and makes them look good...she even taught me to love Sage Shadow!! Anyway, LOVE that image, love the sentiment, LOVE the bling!! She sent it to me not only to congratulate me on getting chosen for the Dirty Dozen, but also for my birthday!! Thanks Carole, I love it!

My third card came to me from my fellow Prettie Girl, Jackie Pedro(strappystamper). Jackie is one of my FAVORITE stampers!! She has such great style(would you look at all those layers, how could I NOT love her) and is just all around a great person! She also sent me a bunch of my favorite goodies; bling, pearls, and yep, you guessed it, SPIRAL CLIPS, WAHOOOOOO!!! Thank you so much Jackie, I love it, and all the goodies you sent!!

My last card came to me from my friend Silke Ledlow(sparklegirl). Silke is INSANELY talented and does amazing things with white space. I seriously envy her ability to make such clean and GORGEOUS cards. When looking at the gallery at SCS, I can have a page of 96 cards in front of me and be able to pick hers out straight away. Her style is so distinctive and BRILLIANT!! Thank you so much for the wonderful card and birthday wishes!!!

Prettie Tuesday

So, today, on top of the normal color challenge, I decided to challenge myself to use a Paper Pretties set that has rarely seen ink...out came my Sweets for the Sweet set. For this card, I used the SCS color challenge, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss. I stamped my image on Whisper White with Black Stazon and used my reinkers, blender pens, SU markers, and a silver pen to color it in. The image was then cut out and layered using my nesties. I stamped the sentiment directly on the white layer and then ran it through the Cuttlebug. The DP is from the Bella Rose DSP and was layered with a piece of CC cardstock, on which I made scallops with my SU scallop punch. I added some pink gingham, chocolate grosgrain, and kiwi satin ribbon around the DP panel.
So, my computer was acting SILLY this morning, so I am just now getting this posted. So far, Jared is content in his jumperoo, but probably not for long...it's almost feeding time at the zoo!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! I have a bunch of birthday RAK's to share soon!!!

My First DD/DDA Challenge!!

I am SO excited, today is my first time posting in the DD/DDA(Dirty Dozen/Dirty Dozen Alumni) challenge!! This months challenge is called Spook or Treat. The challenge was to make a card or treat holder with a Halloween theme. Also, you were to use googlie eyes on your project and the only restriction is that you were not allowed to use pumpkins. "This means no images with animals on pumpkins, holding pumpkins, thinking about pumpkins, growing pumpkins, going to their Mom's for pumpkins .... don't even think about it! No pumpkins!!"(that is a direct quote!!!) I decided, since it was also Celebrating My Favorite Things day(just thought I would let you know that if you do make a card for this, it is supposed to be Pink, Black and White to be entered for the prize...I always forget that part, LOL), that I was going to use my Monster Squad set. I paper pieced both the roof and the house with some Ghostly Greetings DSP from SU. I stamped the house again and cut out just the windows and the door and glued them on top. For the spaces between the railing and the scallop on the roof, I used my white gel pen. This sketch is also the MFT sketch from this past week( that I just now finally got time to do!!). I used my googlie eyes where I would have normally used brads and as the "O" in Trick OR Treat. Isn't it CUTE!!Well, that is it for me for now!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Check out the other girls creations right here!!
stamps-Monster Squad
ink- Black Stazon
paper- Old Olive, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White and GhostlyGreetings DSP
tools-white gel pen, googlie eyes, Cuttlebug, Circle Nesties, circle punches from SU, ribbon from SU and Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts

Wanna See My Cake?

Here is the diaper cake that I made for my stepmom to take to a shower as her gift!! I used a ton of Offray Baby Boy ribbon, SU buttons, silver brads, the blue DP's are from American Traditions Designs and the yellow DP is from the DCVW Baby Boy stack. The yellow ribbon is from Papertrey. The stars were made with my SU star punches. I used ribbon to tie the pacifiers around the bears legs. The ruffle at the bottom is quilt binding. The bear and pacifiers were purchased at Walmart. Isn't it CUTE!! My friend Susan gave me all the wonderful instructions to make these, so if you wanna make one of your own, here is the link to her tutorial!!

Featured Stamper Sunday

I have been playing in my craft room today, but not in the good way...yep, I have been cleaning. I still for the life of me can't figure out why I don't clean as I go...it would be so much easier, but I digress. I finally found the bottom, and after making a diaper cake for my step mom, Paula, to take to a shower, I got to work on my card for today's Featured Stamper challenge. Today's FS is Emily(Ink-E). I don't know that I had ever been to her fabulous gallery, but I am so happy I have now...she is super talented! I chose this card and got to work!! I wanted to use my SUPER CUTE new Snowmen For Peace set from Whipper Snapper. It was one of the new cling sets by Anna Wight released this month. I love it because you can stamp all of the pieces separate(scarf, hat, bird), which makes it so much easier to paper piece, plus it gives you a bunch more options for this cute little guy! The DSP on this card is from the SU mini catalog and is called Ski Slope; the ribbon is also featured in the mini catalog and is called Alpine. I colored what little bit of my snowman that I had to with my SU markers and added some white liquid applique to the bottom to make my snow. The ribbon on my spiral clip is from the SU big catalog(red taffeta and chocolate chip taffeta). Don't you just LOVE that sentiment?? It is so CUTE!!
Well, that is it for me now, I will post a picture of the cake I made soon!! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!
