Fill Your Jar HOP!!

Hello and welcome to this month's Mid-Month blog hop for My Favorite Things!!! Today's hop started at Kim's Blog, so if you haven't been there yet, go to her blog to get started!! You should be arriving at my blog via Michele's!!
This month we are releasing two new sets, and we think "We'll Change the Way You Gift"!! They are two new label sets that are just too cute!! As part of the "hop" this month, Kim sent us all a jar and challenged us to fill it. I had this idea from the start, but wasn't sure if it would work. When I was in school, my teacher had a jar that sat on her desk full of stickers. If you did good in class all week and never got your name on the board, you got to pick a sticker. Now, stickers don't seem like much to me now, but kids still love them....at least my nieces do!! So, for my jar, I decided to buy stickers and fill it full. Teachers do so much for their kids, and I know for a fact that around here, you aren't provided with enough supplies or budget to do special things for your class. Mostly everything is bought out of their own pockets. So, I thought that this would make the PERFECT gift for any kids teacher. I bought 12- 84cent packages of stickers from Walmart, but you can find them cheaper other places I am sure. I then cut the sheets apart so that the images would be separate(unless they were very small). After they were cut up, they only filled about half the jar, but I tried not to go over $15 on the whole project( $10 for the stickers, the jars are 4 for $12-so $3, and then about another $2 for paper and ribbon). For the "belly band", I stamped the stack of books image repeatedly with Memento Tuxedo Black on a strip of Gina K. White. I then colored it in with my Copics. It was then layered with Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Riding Hood Red CS. The chalkboard image was stamped on Gina K. White, as well as the teacher sentiment. I then colored it in with my Copics. The stack of books and two rulers were stamped separately and then added on. For the top of the jar, I put a piece of Riding Hood Red ribbon around the lid rim. I then used my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties to cut the Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Ballet Blue, and Gina K. White layers on the top. I stamped my sentiment on the white, but I left it blank since I am probably going to give this away. I added the books and rulers separately. To finish, I decided to make a matching card. I used the same colors, but I did use some large pewter brads from Creative Express. Well, that is it for me now, the next stop on the hop is Carole's blog. I can't wait to see what she has cooked up for you all!!
