Surprise!!

This month's Guest Designer contest for My Favorite Things is still underway, and I am in LOVE with this month's sketch, so I had to play with it!!

For my card, I used the new a la mode set, Big Birthday Wishes. I stamped her on X-Press It blending card, and then colored her with my Copics. She was then cut out, and placed on my Simple Stories Happy Day, and Hot Fudge layer that were cut out with the Rounded Banner Stax Die-namics. I used the Oval Chain Border Die-namics on my base, along with more of the paper. My other cardstock colors are Cranberry Crisp from SU(really OLD SU), and Jellybean Green. To finish, I used three buttons: Wild Cherry, Orange Fizz, and Hot Fudge, with some Hemp Cord, Michael's brads, Hot Fudge Grosgrain, and a spiral clip. The sentiment panel was created using the Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

For the inside, I used more of the same supplies.

Some Mummy Loves You!

To help celebrate our birthday over at There She Goes clear stamps, the other Trendsetters and I have all been working hard on making special treats just for YOU!! Each Trendsetter listed on the There She Goes blog will be sharing projects with you all today, so be sure to check that out!!

For my treat, I used a tutorial I found on Splitcoast Stampers for a paper cone treat holder. I didn't follow it exactly, but pretty close! I used some yummy Bo Bunny Halloween paper for my cone. It was cut out by hand, and then stuck together with scor tape. I used some white stitched black grosgrain, Stone Twine, and Black Licorice  buttons to attach my handle. The Spider Web die was used to line the top of my cone. I then stamped a mummy from the Hauntingly Delightful set, and added it on with a sentiment tag(hand cut), I used a brad to keep them together. My cone has small strips of Going Gray cardstock bent to look like confetti, and some yummy candy.

Fun, huh!!

Well, that is it for me for now!!! Be sure to check out the There She Goes blog for a full list of Trendsetters participating today!

Helmar/Ribbon Carousel Blog Hop

Today the Ribbon Carousel Crewmates are teaming up with the designers from Helmar to bring you a blog hop jam packed with crafty goodness!   We carry many Helmar products in the Ribbon Carousel Shop.  They are our go-to-company for adhesives!

Helmar USA Inc began in late 2009 initially setup to distribute Helmar branded product manufactured by Helmar Australia and to better service and expand our existing US customer base. It was located in San Diego, California. Whilst the business grew steadily and slowly it wasn't the ideal location for our business to continue to grow.
2012 has seen some major changes already this year for Helmar USA Inc. and those positive changes will continue. In the interests of moving forward and enabling the business to grow from strength to strength, relocation and a change in ownership became inevitable.
In June 2012 Helmar USA Inc. was relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. Now with a much larger warehouse to allow for future expansion and also located close to major transport links, supply to our customers and business growth will be much more efficient.
Another major postive change we have made is to expand our design team. Headed by Erika Taylor the changes implemented so far have been refreshing and inspiring. The range of product education & projects available through various media is outstanding. We truly have very talented group of designers and are so excited to be working with some of the best companies as preferred partners, in the industry.

Now, lets talk prizes!

Hop along with us today and leave some blog love for our Ribbon Carousel Crewmates and the Helmar designers to be eligible to win one of the 2 prizes up for grabs!

The Helmar prize is a complete pack of Zapdots (12 packs) including clear, black and white in circles and squares, in both the large and small sizes!

The other prize up for grabs is a $20 gift certificate to the Ribbon Carousel Store

Let's get to it!!

For my card today, I used the super cute Pumpkin Patch Girl set from the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence line. I stamped her on X-Press It blending card, and some Lilybee Designs Autumn Spice paper. My paper layers were cut out with the Fishtail Flag Stax Die-namics. ISSC34 Happy Birthday!

Hey everyone, and happy Friday!!!! It is time for another I Spy sketch challenge, and it is ALSO time for the Trendsetters at There She Goes to post NEW cards using this month's There She Goes Again sets!!
I'm so excited about the fantastic lady we are highlighting today.  None other than my FABULOUS MFT teammate,  Joanne Basile (basilefamily @ SCS)!! Joanne is SO talented, and one of the SWEETEST people I know!!  This week we are featuring this card.

For my card tonight, I used the Make A Wish set from There She Goes. I stamped it on X-Press It Blending  card, and then colored both pieces with my Copics. I cut out the cake separately, and then added it on TOP of the pedestal to make it "sit" on it. I was inspired by an old Cosmo Cricket paper pad for my colors, and then couldn't make it work, so I ended up using the MME Meadowlark paper pad. I used the MFT Little Open Scalloped Border Die-namics for my border, and cut it out of Grape Jelly cardstock. My other cardstock colors are Tempting Turquoise(SU), Sweet Tooth, and Black Licorice from MFT. To finish, I used some Grape Jelly grosgrain from MFT, oval punches from SU, and brads from Michael's.

Well, that is it for me for now!! Be sure to check out my fellow I Spy teammates cards for this sketch, and ALSO check out the There She Goes blog for a look at THEIR cards using this month's TSGA sets.

My cardstock colors are Black Licorice, Grape Jelly, Orange Fizz and Sweet Tooth.

For the inside, I used more of the American Crafts paper, along with another sentiment from this set. The strips of paper were cut out with the First Place Award Die-namics.

September Creative Challenge-No Patterned Paper

Hey everyone and welcome to this month's My Favorite Things Creative Challenge!!! This month's challenge was SUPER fun!! If you aren't familiar with the challenge, here is a little background:

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create a card or project with no patterned paper.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

For my first card, I used the Distressed Diamonds set to create my background pieces. They were stamped with Cantaloupe, Pear Tart, and Summer Sky ink from Memento on Sweet Tooth cardstock. I used the Fishtail Banner Die-namics to cut them out. The base of my card is Fossil cardstock. My embellishments are Hemp Cord and Michael's brads.

Here is a detail shot of my sentiment panel. I used the Open Scalloped Doily Duo Die-namics in Sno Cone cardstock, the High-rise Lowercase Alphabet Die-namics in Sour Apple, and the Layered Rose Die-namics in Banana Split.

And I just can't get enough of the Large Fancy Flourish Die-namics...it's so gorgeous!!

For the inside, I used the Clearly Sentimental about Family stamp set, along with a piece of the Large Fancy Flourish Die-namics. My sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and Cantaloupe.

For my second card, I used the Pure Innocence Superboy set. He was colored with Copics, and then layered with Whirlypop(Bazzill), Lemon Drop, and Wild Cherry cardstock. I used the Stacking Stars Die-namics to embellish, along with Michael's brads, Wild Cherry Grosgrain, and some Lemon Drop Twine. For my background, I used a stamp from the Lollipop Treat set with Ladybug and Dandelion ink from Memento.  For my scallops, I used the Simply Scallloped Medium Die-namics.

I personalized the SUPER symbol using the Mini Banner Day Alphabet. I used a J for Jonah. Jonah is my cousin Casie's son(story to follow, maybe).

I decided to personalize it a little bit more by spelling out Jonah with the Mini Banner Day Alphabet.

For the inside, I used more of the same supplies, and a sentiment from the Pure Innocence EMT Girl set.

Here are the Die-namics I have used:

Well, that is it for me for now!! Head to Kim's Blog for a full list of Designers playing along today, and have a great day!!
