My Favorite Challenges

It is time for this week's My Favorite Challenge and My Favorite Sketch Challenge. This week's Sketch was drawn up by the fabulous Frances. For her sketch, I used my new Puttin on The Glitz stamp set. I started by stamping my girl on an MFT Perfect Panel. I then colored her in with my Copic markers. The DP is from the Pink Flamingo DSP and the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I used Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise as my colors. The circles were punched out using my SU circle punches, and the sentiment was added with my Oval Punches. I added some SU Satin ribbon to the center as well. The white brads are also SU.
For this week's My Favorite Challenge, Joanne challenged everyone to go Green!! The challenge was to reuse something that you would normally throw away or something that was just lying around your house. I used a dry erase board that one of the local banks was handing out a the Father's Day Car Show. It was ready to hang with magnets on the back, so I decided to cover the front with some Pink Flamingo DSP. I then added a panel for my countdown circles. Basically, it is a countdown to vacation calendar. The circles are attached with reposistionable tape so that they can be taken off and on. For each day that passes leading up to your vacation, one of the circles can be taken down....for instance, my vacation starts on the 25th of July, so I put on enough circles leading up to the 25th. Each day, starting with today, I will take down a circle until there are no more. Then it will be time for VACATION!! I personally think this will be a great way to get excited about your vacation, especially if you have kids...they will LOVE taking down a circle everyday, and it also saves you having to answer the question-Is it time yet?? The VACATION sentiment is part of the set, but I used my Computer to make the numbers and the Countdown To. I stamped the umbrella on some DSP and cut it out, and my sunbathing girl on an MFT perfect panel and colored her with my Copics and then cut her out. I plan on laminating the base and the little cirlces for future use. That way, I can use the nifty dry erase marker that came preattached to it too!!
Well, that is it for me now!! Be sure to check out the MFT forum for more info on this week's challenges!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!
