Well, I am up late, as always, and I saw that the color challenge was posted, so you know I had to check it out. Today's colors are Basic Black, River Rock and Whisper White. Well, I couldn't think of anything to do for an Easter card, except for something with that fabulous cross by Gina K., but I didn't think I would use it, so I didn't order it. I guess that is what I get for thinking!! I had seen on Caroline's(craftycaro) blog earlier that her grandfather had passed away, so I decided to use this challenge to make a sympathy card for her. I started with a Basic Black base and then layered the River Rock and Whisper White. I wrapped the black organdy ribbon around the white base before I glued it down. The sketch on this card was Jen del Muro's sketch for you to try from this past Saturday, and since I loved it, I decided to use it. The top panel is BB, RR and Ginger Blossom DSP. I put three black brads through it , cause you know I love those!!! The main image is raised on pop dots. It is the flower from the SU set Happy Harmony, which I am ashamed to say had remained uninked until today. I stamped the flower twice in River Rock and once in Versamark. I heat embossed them using black embossing powder. I had done the same thing on a card not to long ago and loved the way it looked. The sentiment is from Circle of Friendship. I stamped it in black and punched it out with a 1in circle punch. I used one of my neglected build a brads on the center of this. Well that is all for now, don't forget to register for my BLOG CANDY!!!!

Jess, this card ROcKs! Wow, it's so strikingly beautiful and I so kind of you to make with Carolina in mind. She is such a sweetheart, just like you (2 of my favorite blogging sistas) and I'm sure she will be touched by this gorgeous and thoughtful creation. I almost used that cross for this challenge today, but I couldn't think of anything good, so there you go! Too bad I'm not right around the block from you or I would have ran it over so you could make something magnificent with it! Back to this card, I love the build-a-brad center on this fab flower and these neat pom-pom flowers (I don't know what to call them)with the gb dp! Perfection! ~HUGS~
