Some More MFT for ya!!

When I logged on last night, I believe the first thing I read had to do with seeing someones hooters..LOL!! Thank goodness I knew they meant the new owl set....hehehe. Anyway, here are my "hooters". They were stamped on watercolor paper and colored with my SU markers. I used Soft Sky reinker for the background too. The ribbon is all from SU, as well as the paper which is part of the retired Wintergreen DSP. Oh What A Night

So, as I said yesterday, I had a SUPAH hectic day! Not only was it the Paper Pretties Stampin In Your Jammies party, but it was also the MFT release party. I am sad to say that by the time I got home from my hair appointment(the ONLY appointment I could get before my BIL wedding on Nov. 1), I had a HUGE headache, and really didn't get to participate in either one. Never fear, I still have some goodies to show you though!! Before I get into my cards, I wanna give a HUGE shout-out to our new girls!! Joining us as a Jr. Design Team member is none other than the AMAZING Jackie Pedro!! When she showed up at her first party, we immediately made her a Guest Designer, and from there, well, we grew to LOVE her and wanted to keep her!! LOL!! I can't wait to see what she can do, and trust me when I say, it will all be fabulous! Also joining us as guest designers this term are Stephanie Hargis, Jenn Diaz, Christi Thorsen and Frances Byrne!! I am super excited about our guest designers this round, they are an amazingly talented group of ladies who I know will make me proud and totally ROCK these spots!! They are the perfect addition to our DT, and Christie and I couldn't be happier!! Sadly, we had to say goodbye to some of our current guests, Donna Baker, Carolina Buchting, and Kirsten Dubosque. I SOOOO enjoyed having them around and loved checking out their blogs to see what they had created!! Thanks for all you did girls, you went above and beyond and made us all so proud!!
Okay, enough gushing, on to the goodness, LOL!! Here is my card that I made for the first challenge, which was to try a technique you have never tried before. I decided to do the striped wipe technique that was posted on SCS the other day. It is SUPER easy, virtually mess free, and GORGEOUS!! Basically, you take a diaper wipe, fold it so it has a thicker edge, add drops of re-nker to the end of it in the colors you want, and then swipe it across your glossy card stock. Easy Peasy!! I used some Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, and Kiwi Kiss to make mine. I then stamped the tree from Soakin Up The Sun and colored it in. After it was colored, I cut it out and added it to my scene. The sand was made by tearing pieces of Sahara Sand cardstock. After adhering the top one, I placed my tree, and then adhered the bottom one so that the tree would look like it was coming up out of the sand. Isn't it so peaceful!! The sentiment was cut out with my word window punch(okay, it doesn't honestly fit, but I cut a long strip, stamped it, and then used the word window punch to round the edge) and the ribbon at the top is from SU. The DP is also some retired SU and the Baja Breeze layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. I have two other cards, but you will have to wait til next time for those...gotta keep you coming back, don't I!! Don't forget to check out Paper Pretties home page. Prettie Wednesday-Inspiration

So, two weeks ago, I challenged the Prettie girls to be Inspired!! I asked them to find a picture or object, or whatever to use as inspiration for their card. Here is my inspiration piece. Isn't is such a cute bedroom!! I can't wait to have kids of my own!! Anyway, I used the colors from this room, which I interpreted to be Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette as well as the polka dots. The DP is from the SU Bella Rose pack. My image is the NEW Stamp of the Month Club, for November. You have until October 31st at midnight to get signed up in order to receive this stamp a month before it is actually released in December. Be sure to get signed up, and don't forget to tell them I sent you!! Anyway, I stamped my image on water color paper with Black Stazon and used my aqua painter and re-inkers to color her along with my SU markers. I keep getting asked which marker I use to do my shadow, and for some reason, I don't know why I don't ever list it in my recipe. It is a Cool Grey 20% Prismacolor marker. The ribbon is all from SU, although the narrow pink organdy is retired. I used a bunch of silver brads and piercing, my word window punch to punch out my sentiment, and I ran my white layer through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. This card was also made using the SCS sketch challenge. That is it for me now, I have an ENORMOUSLY busy day, so wish me luck!! Another Teaser/SCS Sketch

I know, don't I just come up with the most original titles for my posts---NOT!!LOL!! We hope to see you there on Wednesday night. So, I decided to use the Reading Flopsey set today because I thought the image would work WONDERFUL with the SCS sketch challenge. I used a combination of markers, re inkers, aqua painter and blender pens to color my image. The ribbon is SU cream grosgrain and the gingham is from JoAnns. I added a ton of silver brads, some piercing, and I used my YUMMY Parisian Summer DP from SU. I know, I have not kept it a secret that I really dislike Bravo Burgundy, but hey, I am female, which totally entitles me to change my mind!!LOL!! Okay, so I don't really LOVE it, but I do like it now, especially with this paper, how could you not??

So, tonight is both the MFT release party and the Paper Pretties Stampin In Your Jammies party, can you SEE my head spinning from where you are sitting??? Should be LOADS of fun, from which I am sure to pass out with exhaustion from afterwards, LOL!! Hope to see you at one, or both!!

This is my second sneak peek using one of the soon to be released sets from MFT. It is called A Scarf For Three, and is my FAVORITE image from Stephanie Fizer so far!! I used my SU markers to color it in after stamping it on watercolor paper with Stazon ink. I added some liquid applique to the hats to make them poofy, as well as the earmuffs. The DP is all retired SU and was run through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes folder. I added some silver brads, ribbon, and spiral clips to dress it up. So, my friend Jodi(kharmagirl) is hosting the color challenge over on SCS this week, and she is SO excited( I totally would be too!!)!!! For today's challenge, she has chosen Baja Breeze, Really Rust, and Chocolate Chip. She gave me a heads up for the challenge so that I could post a sample along with hers. I used the soon to be released Falling For You image being released at Paper Pretties on Wednesday October 1st. We will also be having our Stampin In Your Jammies party that night at 7pmCST. There will be chatter, challenges, and lots of fun!!! Also, you have until tomorrow to sign up for the Stamp of the Month Club in order to get Angel Wings Sophia before she is released to the public, be sure to tell them that I sent ya!! And last, but not least, our Cutie Pie contest ends tomorrow at 8pm CST. Be sure to get your creations uploaded to the Paper Pretties gallery under Cutie Pie submissions to be entered to win three Sophia stamps including- Howdy Girlfriend, Falling For You, and the supah cute new Whiskers Sophia. My card today is made with the Falling For You stamp set. I stamped it on watercolor paper with Brilliance Graphite Black. After drying the ink with my heat gun, I used my SU markers as well as a blender pen and reinker to color my image. It was then cut out with my Oval Nesties and layered with the challenge colors. The DP is from Bella Rose(the chocolate) and Fall Flowers by SU. I added some large silver brads, silver clips with SU ribbon, and some wide Chocolate Chip stitched ribbon. I did a lot of piercing on this card too....love it!!

Now, those of you that come her often, or at least recently, know that the Paper Pretties PJ party is also on Wednesday night...YIKES!! So, I will be scurrying about like a chicken with my head cut off trying to keep up with both. Of course, that is AFTER I return home from my hair appointment that silly me scheduled for that evening too...FUN for me(not)!! SO anyway, her is my FIRST peek at what is to come on Wednesday for MFT!! This is a new set designed by the SUPER talented Stephanie Fizer. It is called Peppermint Cats. I used my aqua painter and Baja Breeze re-inker to color the background and my SU markers to color my cats. The cats were stamped twice and cut out so that they would have some dimension. I paper pieced the bottom with some Deja View's paper and also used it on the background. I added a spiral clip with some ribbon from Deja View's that coordinates with the paper. The white panel was run through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes folder, but I didn't go all the way down to the bottom, that way the sentiment wouldn't be all lumpy. I added some silver brads and it was done!! The colors besides Baja Breeze on this card are Riding Hood Red and Always Artichoke. That is it for me now, sorry I was MIA this weekend...those girls and a last minute shopping trip with my in-laws sure took a lot out of me!! Cuteness Alert!!

So, if I haven't mentioned it before, Paper Pretties is in the process of switching from clear to rubber stamps. Due to this transition, as we get new images, they will be added to the store as they come in. Why am I telling you this? Well, this SUPAH CUTE Whiskers Sophia will be on sale in the Prettie Boutique starting tomorrow!! YAYYY! Isn't she adorable!! To color her in, I used my SU markers. Then I layered her with Rose Red, Basic Grey and Basic Black. The DP is from the SU Creepy Crawly Pack. I wanted to make sure the web was on the card, so I cut it from the top corner( so no, that isn't a stamp, although it would be cool). I added some yummy ribbon(all SU), white brads, piercing, and then added my sentiment panel. I just LOVE her!!

Weekend Sketch Challenge and the IC

Hi everyone!! Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start!! I was going to go to bed early, but here I am, stamping away!! Of course, I am not working on anything that I really NEED to get done, but, sometimes, you just have to stamp for yourself..kwim??!! I wanted to participate in Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge, so I decided that I would start there. I stamped my image from Pocket Silhouettes with Bravo Burgundy and Pink Pirouette on Sahara Sand CS. I cut it and it's layers out with my Classic Circle Nestabilities. I then added a some piercing, and the sentiment, which was punched out with my word window punch. The DP on this card is from the new Parisian Summer DSP. I LOVE the colors in this one, don't you?? I have to say, I am not a HUGE fan of Blah-vo Burgundy, but it really works here. I added some white taffeta and silver brads from SU. The large silver brads were a gift from my pal Jackie(strappystamper). The grosgrain ribbon is from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts. That is it for me now, my nieces are coming to stay the night tomorrow after I get done working at the PO , so wish me luck...I am gonna need it!!

Charmed...I'm Sure!

So, today's Ways to Use it challenge was to use a charm on your card. I honestly didn't think that I had any, so I wasn't going to play. While working on some samples for the next My Favorite Things release, I ran across these heart lock and key charms I got as a door prize at the last swap I went too...score!! I decided to make a card for my future SIL shower which is the 4th of October. They are getting married in November and are going with all Fall colors. I don't know about you, but I think this is perfect for a fall bride...IMHO, LOL!! I stamped the bride from She's All That with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink, which I then embossed with clear embossing powder. I used my Rectangle Nestabilities to cut it and the layers out. I added spiral clips with some gingham ribbon from Offray and chocolate satin from American Crafts. The rust ribbon is some I got from a share with Jody(texasjodylynn). I added some white brads from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts and then pierced a border around the card and the main image. That is it for me now!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!
