TCP Tuesday-Paper Piecing

Welcome to the second TCP Tuesday Challenge of 2014! We have decided to go back to a weekly challenge, so we hope you all will join us!! Our fabulous group of designers will take turns hosting a challenge, and I am up this week!!
My challenge for this week is to use Paper Piecing.

I decided to paper piece the SUPER cute Take Off set using some MME Kate&Co Oxford Lane paper. I paper pieced the airplane, then colored the rest with my Copics. My brads are from Michael's, and my spiral clip from Creative Express. I did some paper piercing, and used Gumdrop Green and Nightshift Blue cardstock.

Well, that is it for me for now!! Be sure to check out the TCP blog for more details!! Have a great day!

Krafty Tips and Tuts-Paper Piercing.

Hey crafty peeps, and happy Monday!! Today is my turn to share a Krafty Tip and Tut over on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog, so I decided to do something that I get asked about a lot...paper piercing!!

First things first, I get my image, or card base, that I want to pierce ready to go, including ALL layers I want to include. Piercing through all the layers you plan on having allows the holes to stay open, and more pronounced. If you only do them through one layer, when you attach the next layer, it pushes the holes back together.

You will need a paper piercing tool, a foam mat to pierce into, and a guide of your chosing. I use the Stampin' Up piercing guide, but you can use any kind of guide you wish(Tim Holtz has a GREAT ruler for this). Line your guide up in the corner, so that the holes will punch evenly around the edges.

Be sure when piercing, you hold the paper piercing tool upright, and hold your guide tightly in place so it doesn't move when you are piercing your holes.

Use your guide to go all the way around the image, or card base, so that all the corners meet evenly.

And here we are, with my finished card....the image I used for this card is from the Sending All My Love stamp set. I paired it with some MME Kate&Co paper. My cardstock colors are Smooth White, Nightshift Blue, Razzle Berry, and Lemon Drop all from MFT. I added some Nightshift Blue grosgrain, a spiral clip, and some brads from Michael's.

Well, that is it for me for now! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

My card today is also for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge, to make a card that is 3.5x5.5. I started with a Smooth White base, and layered it with MFT's Lemon Drop and Black Licorice. My paper is from the MME Meadowlark paper pad, and I used the blocking style of the photo as my inspiration for my layout. The colors were also inspired by the photo. My cute little Ballerina is from the Lil' Athletes stamp set, and I colored her on X-Press It blending card with Copics. To finish my card, I did some paper piercing and added a flower using the MFT Rolled Daisy Die-namics and some Sweet Tooth felt. To accent my flower, I used a Lemon Drop button from MFT with some Black twine. I also used a spiral clip with some Black Licorice grosgrain from MFT, and finished that all off with some Michael's brads.

You Make Me Melt

Hey there crafters, didn't want you to miss me, and I have been on a roll, so I decided to play along with a few challenges and make this SUPER cute card using my Lickable stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas.

This week's challenge from The Cat's Pajamas is an anything goes challenge, so don't be afraid to play along...there are LITERALLY no rules!!:)
I also played along with two challenges from Split Coast Stampers: The Way's to Use It challenge to use something "cold", and this week's sketch challenge. I altered it just a bit to add in my larger square panel, but the sketch is definitely still there.

For my card, I used the Lickable stamp set with some Papermania Happy Days paper. I colored my image with Copics, then layered it with Groovy Guava(SU), Tangerine Tango, Smooth White, and Berrylicious cardstock from MFT. My buttons and ribbon are from MFT, as well. I used Sweet Tooth grosgrain and button, paired with a Berrylicious, and Tangerine Tango button. My brads are from Michael's, and my spiral clip is from Creative Express. I did use the Oval Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics from MFT for my oval panel.

Well, that is it for me for now! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

So..It's Been Awhile...

This week's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge is a White on White challenge. Luckily, I have a ton of SUPER awesome dies to use to make this not so painful!!

A "white on white" challenge is where you can use only white cardstock and embellishments...but luckily, she allowed us to color our image...or else I would just not make it.

I started by coloring the SUPER cute image from my Together is Better set. I stamped him on X-press It blending card, and then colored him with my Copics. He was then layered on top of two Open Scalloped Doily Duo Die-namics from MFT. I then used the Dots Cut Ups from the Cat's Pajamas. My heart was cut out with the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics from MFT. I added a Sweet Tooth button, and my sentiment flag. The only embellishments I used, aside from the button, are some Sweet Tooth grosgrain and spiral clip. For my white cardstock, I used Smooth White from MFT.

Well, that is it for me for now! Can't wait to see you play along with this week's challenge!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

December TCP Tuesday-Signed, Sealed, Delivered

This month's The Cat's Pajamas Tuesday Challenge is called Signed, Sealed, Delivered, and we were to make a gift to give this holiday season.

I decided to make a gift for someone special to me, who loves snowmen. The Let the Flakes Fly set was PEFECT for creating my gift!!

I started by creating a gift back using my Let the Flakes Fly set, and the Celebration Toppers Cut Ups. I used some MME Winter Wonderland paper, paired with MFT Cardstock in Smooth White, Electric Red, Sour Apple, and Berrylicious. I added buttons in Sweet Tooth and Berrylicious, with Hemp Cord tied through them. To finish, I used Michael's brads, and Sweet Tooth grosgrain to finish.

My tags were created using the same cardstock, stamps, and cut ups, but I added a Sweet Tooth ribbon hanger, and covered it with another piece of cardstock to keep it secure.

I hope she likes them!!

Now it's your turn!  Do you have an idea for a quick or even not so quick gift??  We'd love to see it - and you could win this month's Swanky Stamper title just for sharing your fab idea!!

Visit us on the TCP blog and in the TCP Member Forum at SCS!  Have a great day!
