Inspiration Challenge
I really should be in bed, but when I saw today's Inspiration Challenge, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and who I needed to send it to.
This card is going out to a friend of mine who recently lost someone very close to her. I really dislike having to make sympathy cards, but they are a part of life, so I am slowly adjusting. This set by There She Goes really helps to make it easy. It is full of beautiful images and peaceful sentiments. I used this pillow as my inspiration, but used Kiwi Kiss instead of olive. I would lie to you and tell you I like Kiwi better, but it was already out, so I used it. Since this card is pretty self explanatory, I will leave the major details out. Thanks for stopping by again, and I am getting ready to pick the winners of my candy and head to bed!! Have a great day!!

Finally, I STAMPED!!
So, I haven't had the energy to stamp this week....I think is was the thought of the impending birthday and the stress from the release that had me so tired. I am hoping to be back to normal soon!! I kind of had to force this card, so I don't know that it is my BEST work, but I still like it. I
made it for Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge as well as the SCS limited supplies challenge. The LSC was to use eyelets and one ribbon, blue, only one DP, and no tools. I used my Urban Garden DSP and paired it with Not Quite Navy and Kiwi Kiss. The image, from the SU Upsy Daisy set, was stamped once with Not Quite Navy and then again to create a shadow(I didn't reink it between times so that it was lighter). I added some silver eyelets to the corners of the card base and main image. The sentiment is from the There She Goes set, Here For You. This card is going to be going to my friend Vicky who lost her husband suddenly earlier this week. If you would like to send her a card, email me and I will get you her address. The ribbon is the new satin Kiwi Kiss ribbon and it is so YUMMY!! Okay, that is it for me now, I am off to try to stamp more and to get photos of my CANDY!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!!

Look....
at what the Prettie Girls have done!! They are throwing a virtual birthday party in my honor...what a bunch of sweeties!! Be sure to go around and check out their creations, and if you haven't signed up for my blog candy, better get to it!!

My Week Of FUNNNN!!
Okay ladies...I never got around to posting the picture of what I have for ya, but never fear, it is a good one!! I have decided, since this has been such a huge week for me that I will keep this open until midnight tonight, and then I am going to pick three winners, a grand prize and two runners up..one for each day of my wonderful week!! Stay tuned!!
ETA: So, I changed the title of my post, not because I am feeling better about my impending birthday, but because who can say it is a week of torture when you get to be a Dirty Girl!! OH, and by the way....I have now OFFICIALLY met all my stamping goals, wahooo!! Now to come up with some NEW goals!!
So, here lately, I haven't been feeling all that well. I get up in the mornings and it feels as if I have this HUGE weight on my chest. At first, I seriously thought I was sick, and then I realized the REAL reason why I was feeling this way......I turn 30 on Friday......GAGGGGGG!!!!
I have been complaining to anyone who will listen for WEEKS that I can't possibly be 30, that I would like to cancel my birthday due to lack of interest, but inevitably, it is coming. That's when my pal Jodi told me to think of the alternative. She told me to think of all the great things in my life, and not all the things I was worried about(you know, the economy, my inability to have kids, the fact that I haven't reached all my stamping goals) . So, why not celebrate in style, and share it with all of YOU!!!! So, in honor of this horrific occasion, and my upcoming anniversary, I am having a huge blog candy giveaway(my anniversary is the 16th, 4yrs..WOW!!)!! In order to be included in the give away, leave a comment on this post telling me about your most dreaded birthday(doesn't have to be your 30th, just your most dreaded up until this point in your life). The list of FABULOUS stuff you can win is still being compiled, but I will finish it tomorrow and take a picture for you all to see!! Thanks for playing and GOOD LUCK!!

I've Got a Dirty Little(okay huge) Secret!!
We interupt this regularly scheduled Prettie Wednesday post to share with you some breaking news...yours truly is a DIRTY GIRL!!!!WAHOOO!!! I FINALLY did it!! One month, and a few LONG days ago, Jenn Blacer herself called me to ask me if I would like to be a Dirty Girl. Once I quit crying and screaming(inside, not on the phone, who could scream at her, she is so sweet), I immediately said YES YES YES. I mean, seriously, who can say no to that?? So, I have been keeping this HUGE secret..which I will be honest, has been eating at me!! I am super excited to be sharing a "room" with the SUPER TALENTED Lisa Zappa(lzappa). Check her out at her blog, ShabbyChick Junk. Congrats roomie, what a ride!! Know what's funny, I had my "pick my name " contest on here, and the DAY after I posted it, Jenn called me!! To keep it a secret, I went ahead and picked a winner and had Jenn change it...but no offense, I will take Splicoast Dirty Dozen over the Layer Queen anyday!!
O
kay, back to the business at hand!! Here is my card for Prettie Wednesday! Two weeks ago, Jodi(kharmagirl) challenged us to make a card using Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie. Lucky me, I had just ordered some Sweet Always paper from SU, and it worked perfectly for this challenge. I used the Look Who's Perky set, and I paper pieced my image. I then layered it with the challenge colors and did some piercing. The polka dotted layer is the reverse side of the paper I pieced with. I stamped my sentiment directly on it, and then layered it with some Chocolate Chip. What you can't see is that I did a TON of piercing, and then covered it all up...smart huh, NOT!! Anyway, the sketch is Beates' Weekend Sketch Challenge. I did add some ribbon to the side and my silver brads. Of course, what would a card be without my spiral clips, huh?? And to all of you that were worried, never fear, I found a place that sells them, and I ordered 100, wahoo!!!

So now I am pooped, and I am headed for bed. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Be sure to check out the other Prettie Girls to see what they have been up to!! This weeks challenger is Jackie R., so I will be anxious to see what she has in store for us. Speaking of Prettie Girls...did you hear we have a new Prettie Girl!! Welcome Jessica Diedrich to our wonderful family!! She is super talented and sweet, and I can't wait to see what she can do!!

Who's That Girl-Going Places
So, I meant to get this posted yesterday, but I had a meeting last night, so it just didn't get done! This is my card for Who's That Girl Monday Challenge in the MFT member forum. This weeks set we were required to use was Going Places.
The other catch to the challenge was that we had to use eyelets. This set has a special place in my heart...it was one of the sets that was released during my run as a guest designer for My Favorite Things...and now that I am an official sistah, I couldn't be more excited!! To enter this challenge, and be eligible to win the $5GC, be sure to get you card uploaded to the MFT gallery and posted to the Who's That Girl thread for October 13th. You have until tomorrow night(Wednesday, October 15th) at midnight to get yours uploaded, just be sure to use the keyword "MFTWTG5". For those of you that want to plan ahead for next week, the next set will be Bunny Slippers. Anyway, I didn't actually use my girl in this card, I used the plane and banner. All three images were stamped with Black Stazon. The sentiment doesn't come curvy like that, but that is the beauty of curved stamps, I placed it on the block curvy so that I could stamp right in the banner...cool huh!! I colored my images with my SU markers and used some yummy Junior Varsity paper from SU. The colors on this are So Saffron, Old Olive, and Bashful Blue. I am not a huge fan of eyelets...although I don't know why, so I really would prefer some nice silver brads where the eyelets are, but honestly, for this card, they kinda work. That is it for me now, I need to get myself out the door so that I can get up to my sisters. She asked me to come up there to watch my nephew...how do you say no to that!!Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!! I will be back later with some my Paper Pretties card...if Jared cooperates!! Ya right...

Acordian/Stairstep Card
So, Jared is being VERY co-operative today, which means I got to participate in the technique lovers challenge...Yayyy ME!!! I normally don't like this challenge(are you all sick of hearing me say that), but when it is as COOL as this technique, I make exceptions!!
For this card, I cut my Chocolate Chip piece of cardstock and scored it following the instructions in this post. I then layered each "step" with a piece of DP from the Autumn Vine pack, SERIOUSLY love this stuff!! The pumpkins are from the SU set, Autumn Harvest, and were stamped with Brown Stazon on Whisper White. Then I colored them in with my SU markers and added brads and spiral clips with ribbons to the corners. The leaves are also from that set. They were stamped the same way and colored with my Sage Shadow marker. Two of them I cut out and adhered directly to my pumpkin panels, the other two I used my SU circle punches to punch them out. The sentiment is from the Anna Wight set called Give Thanks from Whipper Snapper. I cut it and its layers out and then attached them to a tag I cut out(using my tag nesties)of Sage Shadow. I added a BUNCH of gold brads and it was done. I am still debating on whether or not I should go back and add the faces to these super cute pumpkins...what do you think??
Well, that is it for me now, thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Whipper Snapper Release!!
So today is the day that Whipper Snapper Designs is releasing 4 new cling sets designed by the SUPAH talented and SUPAH sweet Anna Wight.
I made two cards with this first set, and I gotta tell ya, I am IN LOVE with it!! The set is called Penguin Antics, and normally you wouldn't get both of them in one post, but I seriously couldn't decide which one I loved more, so I am showing them both!! The first one was made using Jen del Muro's sketch for you to try from this weekend. I stamped the penguin, chick, bird and snowflake with Black Stazon and colored them in with my SU markers. The snowflake wasn't colored, but I did go over it with my Sakura glitter pen. I used my Cuttlebug and Circle Nestabilities to cut out the penguin and its layers, and my SU circle punches for the smaller circles. On the penguins hat, I added some liquid applique to make it puffy. The DP is from the Four Seasons DSP from SU(retired). It was layered with some silver cardstock from DCVW and Night Of Navy. For my embellishments I used some silver satin edged ribbon from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts and some Navy grosgrain, silver brads and clips, and I did a lot of piercing.
This second card was stamped and colored with same way(SU markers, liquid applique). It was layered with Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. The DP is the Ski Slope DSP in the Holiday Mini Catalog from SU. My embellishments are all from SU, except the spiral clip. Don't you just love that penguin with his head stuck in the snow...cracks me up!!

That is it for me now..Jared will be here early, and I am already sleepy as it is. Be sure to check out what the other Featured Designers have in store for you!!

Featured Stamper Sunday
Today's Featured Stamper on SCS is the fabulous Anne Ryan. She is super sweet and is so good about leaving you the sweetest comments. I for one know that I have several that I need to repay her for, I am a horrible commenter anymore, but I am trying to get back to my normal 100-150 a day. Anyway,
I chose this card of hers, and I will tell you, it was the title that drew me in. She named it "Even I Know This is an Ugly Card". First of all, Anne, if you are reading this, it is NOT an ugly card, in fact, it is a great card. I decided to use a bicycle image from the SU set Time For You(retired). I stamped it on watercolor paper and then colored it in with my SU markers. It was layered with Really Rust, Sage Shadow, and Chocolate Chip. I added some metal clips(sadly, I am out of silver spiral clips, and I can't find any to buy, so I am going on a MASSIVE hunt today) with some sage shadow and chocolate chip taffeta on them. The DP is from the SU pack, Autumn Vine, which is in the Holiday Mini. I connected the two panels with Chocolate Chip double stitched ribbon. At the bottom, I added some more ribbon and then stamped the sentiment directly on the DP with some Chocolate Chip ink. Four silver brads and it was done. That is it for me for the moment...I am getting ready to make another post, that you DON'T want to miss!!

Harvest Blessings
So, this card was made for today's limited supplies challenge over on SCS. Of course, it has 13 layers, so I am PRETTY SURE that disqualifies it, but I seriously can't help myself!! I love this image from Anna Wights Harvest Blessing set she designed for Whipper Snapper. It has some of the cutest fall images in it, and I love this super cute GIRL scarecrow. That's right, she is wearing a dress people, she HAS to be a girl!!hehe!!
Anyway, I colored her in with my SU markers after stamping her on Whisper White with Black Stazon. I stamped it again on white and some Autumn Vine DSP from SU. I cut out the shirt from the paper, and colored just the scarf on the white and paper pieced them on(shhhhh, I know that it makes it 14 layers, technically...SHHHHH). I added some piercing and antique brass brads to it, as well as some wide Chocolate Grosgrain, narrow Sage grosgrain, and chocolate gingham. I stamped the sentiment on some more of the Autumn Vine paper and glued it on....in reality, I wanted to layer it...but didn't want the Challenge Police to come get me...scary!! The colors on this card are Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow and Really Rust. The DP is from the Holiday Mini, and I LOVE it. I debated on whether or not to order it, and I am totally glad that I did. Well, that is it for me now..Jared has had all of his bouncy seat he cares to tolerate. Looks like it is time for a nap!! I will be back later, if he cooperates...LOL!!

BTW- Whipper Snapper is having a release on Monday for FOUR new cling sets..WAHOO!! Can't wait to show you what I have done for this(errr, once I get it done of course, but trust me, total CUTENESS). Anna has been giving super sneaky peeks on her blog, so be sure to check them out...they ROCK!!
