A Personal Post

So, I have been promising pictures of my nephew Jared, and some of you have been asking for them, so here they are!! No cards, just CUTENESS!!LOL!!

Here For You

So, this is my first time using the Here For You set from "There She Goes" and I LOVE IT!! It is full of fabulous sayings and images that make sympathy cards, which are normally a chore for me, very easy and heartfelt. The sentiments say just the right things, at least, I think they do. I made this card for today's sketch challenge over at SCS. I stamped my bird and branch image on Very Vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink and layered it with Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip. The first DP(the WW) is from the retired Afternoon Tea DSP and the Chocolate polkadots is from the Bella Rose pack. I did a lot of piercing, used some vanilla brads from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts, brown gingham from Joanns and cream wide grosgrain from SU. I did lightly sponge the edges on the main image to give the image some depth. That is it for me for now...my nephew is sleeping, so I am trying to hurry!! I realized that I haven't posted any pictures of him recently, so maybe later today I can get him to lay still long enough to let me take a photo!!

Prettie Wednesday-Fancy Folds

So, two weeks ago, Danielle challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card using a "Fancy Fold". She said we could pick whatever we wanted, just couldn't be a standard or normally folded card. As soon as I saw this challenge, I decided that I was FINALLY going to try making a free standing pop up card that I had seen on SCS a few weeks ago. I am not going to give directions for this technique here, but here is the SUPER fabulous tutorial that I used to make mine. Great pictures and directions, and so easy to follow, especially for someone like me who doesn't enjoy doing stuff like this!! LOL!! Now with that said, how can you NOT like this, it is so FABULOUS!! Yes, I love myself, hehehehe!! Anywho, this card was made using a Basic Black Base that I layered some paper from the SU Ghostly Greetings pack on. The tag features the soon to be released stamp set, Pick of the Patch from Paper Pretties. Isn't Daisy too cute!! She and Cooper are all dressed up and ready for Trick or Treating, although, Daisy doesn't look all that thrilled, LOL!!! I stamped both images on watercolor paper and colored them with my SU markers. Cooper was layered with Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Basic Black. Daisy was layered with just a scalloped circle cut out of Basic Black. I added some piercings and brads and attached the images to my tag base that was made with BB, PP, OO, and some more GGDSP(like all my abbreviations..lazy, what can I say). The tag at the top was made using my SU Round Tab punch and a large eyelet. All the ribbons on the tag and base are from SU. The sentiment panel on the bottom was made with my large oval punch and circle punches. I accidentally punched an extra hole, so I decided to add some brads to it.. I think it is super cute...IMHO!! This "card" is on its way(as soon as I get it in the mail...yikes) to Jackie R., I sure hope she likes it!! Well, that is it for me now, I will be back later with my sketch card, hopefully!!
Be sure to blurf around and check out what the other Prettie Girls have created for this challenge. It is my turn to challenge the girls again, due to some schedule changes, so here is my challenge for you ladies....make a card that SPARKLES!! So get out your glitter Pretties and lets see what you can do!! Please, as always, feel free to play along, and if you do, leave a link on this post so that we can all see it!!

To You From Me

Hello again everyone...thanks for all the emails letting me know you got my updates. I did a tiny bit of investigating, and from what I found out, the problem should fix itself, but we will see!! While my nephew was playing in his bouncy seat, I decided to work on today's color challenge. The challenge was to use Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, and Kiwi Kiss. I used this color combo a couple of weeks ago, and loved it, so I was happy to see it make it to the color challenge. I used the swiped wipe technique again, and created my background with TT and KK ink. The Upsy Daisy image was stamped on top of that with Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from the current SU Level 1 Hostess set, The Best Yet. My Dp is from the Bella Rose DP and the top white panel was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. I added some white brads to the bottom, Kiwi and Tangerine striped ribbon, and some wide Chocolate grosgrain. On my spiral clip, I used some Kiwi satin ribbon and some narrow chocolate grosgrain. That is it for me now, thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Whiskers....Isn't She ADORABLE!!

This is the new Whiskers Sophia stamp from Paper Pretties, isn't she SUPAH cute!! I made this card for one of the Paper Pretties party challenges, to make a Halloween card, and I LOVE it!! I stamped my Sophia with Black Stazon on Whisper White paper. I colored her with my SU markers, and outlined her with my Cool Grey 20% Prismacolor marker(had to throw that in there, I keep forgetting and have had SEVERAL emails asking what I use to make my shadow). The paper is from the DCWV Halloween stack as well as the SU Ghostly Greetings(the Pumpkin Pie one). I used some SU ribbon(all except the purple gingham which is one of those 99cent spools from JoAnns). Then I added some big white brads to the ends of the DP, and some tiny white brads to the card base and the corners of the main image. Of course, I HAD to do some piercing on her because anymore, my cards feel naked without it!! The colors on this card are Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, and Lovely Lilac. Well, that is it for me for now...I am so bummed about my email subscription thingy, I just hope it will send out the updates right!! I am off to try to squeeze in the color challenge before Jared gets up for the day, wish me luck!!

ACKKKK!!

ETA: Yayyyy, they are back!!

So my email subscriptions went from 324 to 0 overnight!! Hopefully you will all still get your email updates, but if not, let me know, and I see if I can get it fixed. There is virtually NO customer support for Feedburner anywhere!!! GRRRRR!!!

Featured Stamper-Pick of the Patch

Today's featured stamper is Love Stampin!!! She has a fabulous gallery full of wonderful cards and brilliant layouts. I almost forgot to play, so I quit what I was doing and got right to work!! I chose this card of hers, and kept the layout, changed the rest. I used my new Cooper image from Paper Pretties. It and the sentiment are part of the SOON TO BE RELEASED set, Pick of the Patch. Isn't it cute!!! I colored my Cooper with my SU markers. The DP is from the new SU paper pack Ghostly Greetings. I paired it with Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Basic Black. I also used some Pumpkin striped ribbon, black gingham, and Olive wide grosgrain. My sentiment panel was created with several of my SU punches. I added some piercing, silver brads and spiral clips, and it was done!! I am pooped, so I am off to bed!! I will be back tomorrow with more goodies, hopefully!! I have THREE MFT sketches to catch up on, not to mention all the other challenges that I love, but have missed...boohooo...
Thanks for stopping by, yet again, and have a great day!!

So, my card is for the Monday Who's That Girl challenge. The challenge was to use Meet Me at the Cafe', and the added twist was that you had to use paper piecing. Well, I paper pieced a TON on here. After it was all done, I thought it may be a little busy, but I still like it!! The DP on this card is from the retired Cutie Pie DSP from SU. It has always been one of my favorites, so I was sad to see it leave!! So, what I didn't paper piece, I colored with my SU markers. I added a bunch of ribbon and brads, and it was done. As I said before, the sketch came from Jen del Muro's SFYTT.

I have a ton more I want to get done, so back to my table..of course, I will DEFINITELY have to clean before I can stamp anymore...I swear I may be the messiest stamper EVER!!LOL!! Thanks for stopping by again and have a great day!!

Give Thanks...

So, I am IN LOVE with this new set from Whipper Snapper. It was designed by Anna Wight, and it is completely AWESOME!! I stamped my tree from her Give Thanks set with Chocolate Chip ink and then colored in the leaves with Old Olive ink. I stamped my apples separately and cut them out, then stamped them at the base of the tree and glued them on...that stem would be WAY to hard to cut out!! The DP on this card is from the new SU Washington Apple DP, isn't it YUMMO!! I layered it with Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Whisper White. The apples were colored with my Riding Hood Red reinker and a blender pen. I decided to leave the bottom panel white so that you could see my sentiment, then pierced a border around all the squares. I added some ribbon to each square after I got done with my piercings. So, this card qualifies for THREE World Card Making Day challenges over on SCS. The first challenge was the featured stamper challenge, to CASE Sherry(sherrylc05). She has a fabulous gallery, and this is the card I chose!! I changed the colors, image, paper and embellishments....in Jessie speak, that means I kept the layout, changed the rest..hehehehe. The second challenge this qualified for was the inspiration challenge, to use the cover of the current Coldwater Creek catalog. I was inspired by the leaves and the colors. The final challenge this qualified for was to make a card with a tree on it.
Back to the stampin table...WISH me LUCK!!!

So Sad...

So, yesterday was World Card Making Day, and there were a TON of fun things going on...sadly, I NEVER got to stamp yesterday...BOOHOO!! I have to tell you that I am one of the most boring people you will ever meet and I don't ever have plans, but let there be something I REALLY want to do, and that will be my busiest day of the week!! I had a bridal shower to go to yesterday and then spent a good part of the day with my MIL trying to calm her down(LONG story). By the time I was done, I was pooped and ready to sleep. I did manage to get my Fall decorations out around my house, but then promptly went to bed and slept til this morning. I told myself that I was going to make as many cards as my little hands would allow me!! So far, I have two done, go me!! This first one was made using the first World Card Making Day challenge on SCS as well as the WCMD challenge in the My Favorite Things forum. The first challenge was a sketch, so I used it with my new Annie LaPoint image, Chives. I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used my SU markers to color it in. It was then layered with Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip ink and the edges were sponged. The card base is Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, and some DP I got at the Paper Pretties boutique. I used plain strips of Sage that I had sponged and pierced to make the panels required for the sketch. I then took some SU Chocolate and Cream taffeta as well as some Chocolate gingham(non SU) and tied them around the panels. The brads and spiral clip are form one of the old SU Hodgepodge Hardware kits(Antique Brass).
Well, that is it for my first card!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!
