Featured Stamper-Pick of the Patch

Today's featured stamper is Love Stampin!!! She has a fabulous gallery full of wonderful cards and brilliant layouts. I almost forgot to play, so I quit what I was doing and got right to work!! I chose this card of hers, and kept the layout, changed the rest. I used my new Cooper image from Paper Pretties. It and the sentiment are part of the SOON TO BE RELEASED set, Pick of the Patch. Isn't it cute!!! I colored my Cooper with my SU markers. The DP is from the new SU paper pack Ghostly Greetings. I paired it with Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Basic Black. I also used some Pumpkin striped ribbon, black gingham, and Olive wide grosgrain. My sentiment panel was created with several of my SU punches. I added some piercing, silver brads and spiral clips, and it was done!! I am pooped, so I am off to bed!! I will be back tomorrow with more goodies, hopefully!! I have THREE MFT sketches to catch up on, not to mention all the other challenges that I love, but have missed...boohooo...
Thanks for stopping by, yet again, and have a great day!!

Who's That Girl SFYTT

So, in an effort to get as many challenges done as possible, I decided to combine Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try and this weeks Who's That Girl challenge over in the My Favorite Things forum. Have you checked out the changes in the MFT forum, if not, you totally should!! Here are the details!!
Wanna get cozy with the MFT crew? Want excuses to buy more stamps and play with the ones you have? We are changing up our forum to make it tons of fun for the MFT lover in you! On Sept. 15th, we unveil our MFThemed Forum Days!

What’s in for you? We thought you’d ask! So we decided to offer a $5 store gift certificate to one lucky winner each day! And on top of all that goodness, the daily winners will be thrown into a monthly drawing for a $25 gift certificate! Now that’s a reason to celebrate, don’t you think?
So, my card is for the Monday Who's That Girl challenge. The challenge was to use Meet Me at the Cafe', and the added twist was that you had to use paper piecing. Well, I paper pieced a TON on here. After it was all done, I thought it may be a little busy, but I still like it!! The DP on this card is from the retired Cutie Pie DSP from SU. It has always been one of my favorites, so I was sad to see it leave!! So, what I didn't paper piece, I colored with my SU markers. I added a bunch of ribbon and brads, and it was done. As I said before, the sketch came from Jen del Muro's SFYTT.

I have a ton more I want to get done, so back to my table..of course, I will DEFINITELY have to clean before I can stamp anymore...I swear I may be the messiest stamper EVER!!LOL!! Thanks for stopping by again and have a great day!!

Give Thanks...

So, I am IN LOVE with this new set from Whipper Snapper. It was designed by Anna Wight, and it is completely AWESOME!! I stamped my tree from her Give Thanks set with Chocolate Chip ink and then colored in the leaves with Old Olive ink. I stamped my apples separately and cut them out, then stamped them at the base of the tree and glued them on...that stem would be WAY to hard to cut out!! The DP on this card is from the new SU Washington Apple DP, isn't it YUMMO!! I layered it with Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Whisper White. The apples were colored with my Riding Hood Red reinker and a blender pen. I decided to leave the bottom panel white so that you could see my sentiment, then pierced a border around all the squares. I added some ribbon to each square after I got done with my piercings. So, this card qualifies for THREE World Card Making Day challenges over on SCS. The first challenge was the featured stamper challenge, to CASE Sherry(sherrylc05). She has a fabulous gallery, and this is the card I chose!! I changed the colors, image, paper and embellishments....in Jessie speak, that means I kept the layout, changed the rest..hehehehe. The second challenge this qualified for was the inspiration challenge, to use the cover of the current Coldwater Creek catalog. I was inspired by the leaves and the colors. The final challenge this qualified for was to make a card with a tree on it.
Back to the stampin table...WISH me LUCK!!!

So Sad...

So, yesterday was World Card Making Day, and there were a TON of fun things going on...sadly, I NEVER got to stamp yesterday...BOOHOO!! I have to tell you that I am one of the most boring people you will ever meet and I don't ever have plans, but let there be something I REALLY want to do, and that will be my busiest day of the week!! I had a bridal shower to go to yesterday and then spent a good part of the day with my MIL trying to calm her down(LONG story). By the time I was done, I was pooped and ready to sleep. I did manage to get my Fall decorations out around my house, but then promptly went to bed and slept til this morning. I told myself that I was going to make as many cards as my little hands would allow me!! So far, I have two done, go me!! This first one was made using the first World Card Making Day challenge on SCS as well as the WCMD challenge in the My Favorite Things forum. The first challenge was a sketch, so I used it with my new Annie LaPoint image, Chives. I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used my SU markers to color it in. It was then layered with Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip ink and the edges were sponged. The card base is Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, and some DP I got at the Paper Pretties boutique. I used plain strips of Sage that I had sponged and pierced to make the panels required for the sketch. I then took some SU Chocolate and Cream taffeta as well as some Chocolate gingham(non SU) and tied them around the panels. The brads and spiral clip are form one of the old SU Hodgepodge Hardware kits(Antique Brass).
Well, that is it for my first card!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Say WHAT???

So, I was stalking the Limited Supplies challenge for today, and I just happened to be the first person to see it, sad really!! Of course, it became even sadder when I saw that the challenge was to make a card using no embellishments. HUH???? Okay, so you could use your Cuttlebug, Nesties, and various other things on a very short list, but no brads, no ribbons, no hardware, no beautiful spiral clips...nothing. Tragic really!!LOL!! So , I decided that I had to try, because if ever there was a challenge custom made for me, this was it. I used my Butterfly Happiness set from There She goes. The paper is some retired SU DP which I stamped the vine from Butterfly Happiness on in Mellow Moss-immediately after stamping it, I covered it with my large sentiment panel, so unless you really look, you can't see it, but hey, I know its there!! The butterflies were stamped with Perfect Plum and Pale Plum, then cut out and popped up. The quote, which makes this for yesterdays Ways to Use it challenge, was stamped on Very Vanilla, and all the layers were cut with my Rectangle Nestabilities. I did a lot of piercing, because lets face it, I had to do SOMETHING!! So now that it is done, and you have seen it, I am off to cover the whole thing in brads and ribbon........but I did do it!! That is it for me for now...I will be back later, hopefully, with more goodness for you to see!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Some More MFT for ya!!

So, the release party at My Favorite Things was ROCKIN!! Especially since Kim is offering free shipping on all orders placed by October 3rd(this Friday). Just enter the code FREESHIPPING in the coupon code box to receive a discount of $4.75! This discount is applied even if you are an international MFT fan. But you MUST enter the code to receive the discount! All of the new Stephanie Fizer images(including the one I am about to show you, sorry) are on back order, but so that you can still take advantage of the free shipping, she is leaving them in the store, just be aware that they will not ship with the rest of your order. With that said, her is my first sample with the new Stephanie Fizer set, Christmas Owls....isn't it the cutest!! Now, if you have never been to an MFT party on SCS, it is FAST and can sometimes get a little crazy!! When I logged on last night, I believe the first thing I read had to do with seeing someones hooters..LOL!! Thank goodness I knew they meant the new owl set....hehehe. Anyway, here are my "hooters". They were stamped on watercolor paper and colored with my SU markers. I used Soft Sky reinker for the background too. The ribbon is all from SU, as well as the paper which is part of the retired Wintergreen DSP. Everything is pretty self explanatory on this one, and I am running behind, so that is it for me for now!! Thanks for stopping by again and have a great day!!

Oh What A Night

So, as I said yesterday, I had a SUPAH hectic day! Not only was it the Paper Pretties Stampin In Your Jammies party, but it was also the MFT release party. I am sad to say that by the time I got home from my hair appointment(the ONLY appointment I could get before my BIL wedding on Nov. 1), I had a HUGE headache, and really didn't get to participate in either one. Never fear, I still have some goodies to show you though!! Before I get into my cards, I wanna give a HUGE shout-out to our new girls!! Joining us as a Jr. Design Team member is none other than the AMAZING Jackie Pedro!! When she showed up at her first party, we immediately made her a Guest Designer, and from there, well, we grew to LOVE her and wanted to keep her!! LOL!! I can't wait to see what she can do, and trust me when I say, it will all be fabulous! Also joining us as guest designers this term are Stephanie Hargis, Jenn Diaz, Christi Thorsen and Frances Byrne!! I am super excited about our guest designers this round, they are an amazingly talented group of ladies who I know will make me proud and totally ROCK these spots!! They are the perfect addition to our DT, and Christie and I couldn't be happier!! Sadly, we had to say goodbye to some of our current guests, Donna Baker, Carolina Buchting, and Kirsten Dubosque. I SOOOO enjoyed having them around and loved checking out their blogs to see what they had created!! Thanks for all you did girls, you went above and beyond and made us all so proud!!
Okay, enough gushing, on to the goodness, LOL!! Here is my card that I made for the first challenge, which was to try a technique you have never tried before. I decided to do the striped wipe technique that was posted on SCS the other day. It is SUPER easy, virtually mess free, and GORGEOUS!! Basically, you take a diaper wipe, fold it so it has a thicker edge, add drops of re-nker to the end of it in the colors you want, and then swipe it across your glossy card stock. Easy Peasy!! I used some Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, and Kiwi Kiss to make mine. I then stamped the tree from Soakin Up The Sun and colored it in. After it was colored, I cut it out and added it to my scene. The sand was made by tearing pieces of Sahara Sand cardstock. After adhering the top one, I placed my tree, and then adhered the bottom one so that the tree would look like it was coming up out of the sand. Isn't it so peaceful!! The sentiment was cut out with my word window punch(okay, it doesn't honestly fit, but I cut a long strip, stamped it, and then used the word window punch to round the edge) and the ribbon at the top is from SU. The DP is also some retired SU and the Baja Breeze layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. I have two other cards, but you will have to wait til next time for those...gotta keep you coming back, don't I!! Don't forget to check out Paper Pretties home page. Christie is having a 40% off Pink Sale in honor of Breast Cancer awareness month. If you purchase any of our PINK products and make a card with it for someone who has been touched by breast cancer in some way, send us a pic of your card at christie@paperpretties.net. At the end of the month we'll be drawing a name for a prize! Be sure to include your name and mailing address along with who you are sending your card to (not a name, just their association to you), as well as a list of the products from the boutique that you used.

Prettie Wednesday-Inspiration

So, two weeks ago, I challenged the Prettie girls to be Inspired!! I asked them to find a picture or object, or whatever to use as inspiration for their card. Here is my inspiration piece. Isn't is such a cute bedroom!! I can't wait to have kids of my own!! Anyway, I used the colors from this room, which I interpreted to be Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette as well as the polka dots. The DP is from the SU Bella Rose pack. My image is the NEW Stamp of the Month Club, for November. You have until October 31st at midnight to get signed up in order to receive this stamp a month before it is actually released in December. Be sure to get signed up, and don't forget to tell them I sent you!! Anyway, I stamped my image on water color paper with Black Stazon and used my aqua painter and re-inkers to color her along with my SU markers. I keep getting asked which marker I use to do my shadow, and for some reason, I don't know why I don't ever list it in my recipe. It is a Cool Grey 20% Prismacolor marker. The ribbon is all from SU, although the narrow pink organdy is retired. I used a bunch of silver brads and piercing, my word window punch to punch out my sentiment, and I ran my white layer through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. This card was also made using the SCS sketch challenge. That is it for me now, I have an ENORMOUSLY busy day, so wish me luck!! Also, be sure to check out the other Prettie Girls to see what they have cooked up for ya!! Jodi is our challenger for this week, so I can't wait to see what she will come up with!!

We hope to see you there on Wednesday night. So, I decided to use the Reading Flopsey set today because I thought the image would work WONDERFUL with the SCS sketch challenge. I used a combination of markers, re inkers, aqua painter and blender pens to color my image. The ribbon is SU cream grosgrain and the gingham is from JoAnns. I added a ton of silver brads, some piercing, and I used my YUMMY Parisian Summer DP from SU. I know, I have not kept it a secret that I really dislike Bravo Burgundy, but hey, I am female, which totally entitles me to change my mind!!LOL!! Okay, so I don't really LOVE it, but I do like it now, especially with this paper, how could you not??

This is my second sneak peek using one of the soon to be released sets from MFT. It is called A Scarf For Three, and is my FAVORITE image from Stephanie Fizer so far!! I used my SU markers to color it in after stamping it on watercolor paper with Stazon ink. I added some liquid applique to the hats to make them poofy, as well as the earmuffs. The DP is all retired SU and was run through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes folder. I added some silver brads, ribbon, and spiral clips to dress it up.
