Ways To Use Envelopes

I have to tell you that I am about the Worlds WORST at decorating envelopes. It really adds so much to your card, but if it isn't part of a package or hand delivered, I figure, why bother. As someone who works for the Post Office, I know what they come in looking like sometimes, so I don't see the point in wasting my time, right, RIGHT!! Well, when I saw today's Ways To Use it challenge over at SCS, I knew that I WANTED to decorate and envelope to go along with this super cute Snowbunny Flopsey card I made!! It is part of a package I am sending to my Secret Santa-ee, so I figure that she deserves the best!! First the details about the card, and then the envelope. For the card, I used Some Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, and this yummy Deja Views Flurries and Frost paper. It has to be my FAVORITE DP for Christmas..and I sure hope I can find some more!! My Snowbunny Flopsey, which was released by My Favorite Things last night, was stamped with Black Stazon ink on Whisper White and then colored in with my SU markers, blender pen, and Baja Breeze re-inker. I cut it our and layered it on a WW oval that had been cut out with my Nestabilities. I really wanted his big ol' ears to hang out of the oval....So FUN!! I did some piercing, added some white brads, a figure 8 spiral clip, and a bunch of yummy ribbon. All of my ribbon is from SU, EXCEPT for the wide Chocolate Grosgrain, which came from my pal Jody. For the envelope, I used some more of my DP, a piece of wide Baja Breeze grosgrain, and some SU buttons(part of the Button Bouquet Buttons and the Soft Subtle). I then stamped the snowflake from Baby It's Cold Outside(which is currently out of stock but will be back really soon) in Baja Breeze all over the envelope. For the ribbon, I cut a slit at the bottom and top of the envelope and threaded it through so it won't affect the way the envelope works.
So, is anyone else FREAKIN OUT that it is only 20ish days til Christmas??? I still don't have my Christmas cards all finished...YIKES!!! I have a feeling that no matter how much I HATE to mass produce...I am gonna have to!! I haven't even started shopping yet. And I don't think I have said it here yet, but I did get all my inside decorations up, but seriously, there are still pumpkin lights in my yard and some severely frozen mums, LOL!! I put the lights in my windows though, and hopefully, in between hunting sessions this weekend, I can con my DH and my BIL to help me get my yard done.....I have WAY to much stuff and it is a JOB!! We are talking mini spiral trees to line the walk and front of the house, candy cane lights for the sidewalk, 5 blow up decorations, 4 spiral trees, 3 deer, 2 sets of presents, and all the lights for the roof.......can you say.....OBSESSED with CHRISTMAS!!!LOL!!! At least I got my tree done, something I LOVE to do, but DREAD every year because I am so OCD it is just never good enough. I seriously spent 4hours putting it up and another hour since then moving stuff......I try not to look at it to often for fear I might see something else that needs moved...anyone else like this??
Well, that is it for me now....I am gonna leave you with a picture of my tree. It is the only decent one that I could get and it is STILL a little blurry. I will work on that!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

  1. Love your fun card and envelope Jessie! I don't ever decorate my envelopes either but after seeing the challenge today...I'll have to...haha...will work on it later though.
Your tree is GORGEOUS girl! I'm OCD when it comes to my tree too...lol It's in the front window so I'm constantly running in and out the front door to make sure it looks good from all the angles outside! haha!
Last year I didn't think it was centered...so I tried to DRAG it over...well I broke one of the legs on the stand...ended up having to tie fishing wire(pretty much invisible) to the tree and the curtain rod....lol...so uncool eh?

LOVE your card (you know since I said so last night, that dp rocks Christmas!) and your tree is just gorgeous! I don't obsess about stuff like that - shoot it's been years since I've put my OWN tree up. I have a 12" one on my desk at work though!

And I'm right there with you on the tree. I try to suck it up and let my kids help decorate, but then when they aren't looking, I have to move stuff. I just can't help it. (You are not alone.) lol

Pretty Tree. We aren't putting one up this year. We have a blind dog and it just is something else for her to run into. :(

  18. Love your card and your tree is to die for! My fiance and I just bought and decorated our first tree this weekend and I keep looking at it and finding blank spots or too many of the same colour clustered together!

  19. Super cute card, Jessie!! I love the matching envie. But the tree steals the show for this post!! Oh my gosh, girl, it's beautiful! I'd be embarrassed for you to see mine. I'm not in the least OCD about it(I used to be); my toddler, on the other hand, can't seem to stop rearranging. I should send him to your house for the day - LOL! He could give you lots of "help"!

  20. Your card is amazing and so is your tree. I am OCD too, but this year I let the kids and my husband do it all. No...it is not the best looking tree we have ever had, but the kids had fun and I didn't have to worry about it! LOL! I try not to look at mine too much either for fear I may torch it! LOL! I love the theme of your tree. Very cute! TFS

I'm like you though, I still haven't decorated the outside of my home, I was hoping to get to that this weekend. I still have my fall stuff up outside! LOL! 25. Cute card Jessie! Your tree looks amazing! I have to let go of any OCD afflictions when I let the kids decorate the tree. I do go in after they've gone to be and "balance" it out, but honestly, it's so heartwarming everytime I look at it and remember their pride when they pronounced it done! One day I will have 2 trees...one for me and one for them. Next year I'm thinking.
