Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone!! I am having a heck of a time today with my computer so bare with me. I figured out yesterday that it isn’t updating my feeds for the 200 blogs I go to….really making me angry. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it to no avail. Of course with that being said, I am kind of a moron when it comes to computer, so it isn’t altogether shocking that I can’t fix it. I know the biggest issue is my computer, it is in serious need of some TLC(by someone who knows how to do it, not me fumbling around like an idiot). So, I guess I will spend the next few hours of my life transferring them all with to a reader or to my blog with that nifty new updated blog list(saw it on my dashboard). With all that being said, my sister called today and Jared went to the Dr. today because he has been super fussy and she wanted to make sure there was nothing major wrong with him. His Dr. told my sister that he has Colic, so we have another 4 to 6 months of this to deal with(pray for the 4, my sister is at her wits end and I will be too shortly). But hey, that’s not why you are here, you are here for a card right? RIGHT!! I made this card for today’s sketch challenge, and I gotta say, I am not all that impressed with it, but I think it was because of the super involved layout. I love lots of layers and embellishments, but my layouts are usually about the same, and this one blew my mind. Jodi(kharmagirl) sent me some of her awesome stamps to play with and the worked PERFECT for this sketch. I colored them with my markers, and then layered them with Regal Rose, So Saffron, and Old Olive. I added a couple of spiral clips with grosgrain ribbon on them and silver brads in the corners. The sentiment is a rub on. I also ran the white piece through my Cuttlebug with the birds and swirls folder(I think that is the name of it). Well, that is it for me now! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!! Stamps-Butterfly by Magenta
Paper-Regal Rose, So Saffron, Old Olive, and Whisper White

  2. Gorgeous card! I love it!

Colic is no fun, Adam was that way for about 6 weeks, and our life saver was "Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr. Harvey Karp. It worked wonders, check it out! Our library had the DVD of the book too. DH became a pro at it!

  8. Sorry to hear about your computer troubles. Hopefully they can be solved soon :) Nice job on the sketch challenge - scared me off but may give it a go anyway.

As for your nephew's colic, take him to a chiropractor!! I know it may sound weird, but often babies with colic have a misalignment (no kidding based on how they have to come out!!). I have several friends who have gone that route and the colic was history shortly after the visit! Check into who does pediatric chiro, get a references and then get him adjusted. It will save her much frustration and get her more sleep too - not to mention have baby much happier too.

  9. PS I'm afradi I have no good advice on the colic, my boys didn't have it, but know that it WILL go away! A thing she might want to try is this hammock, it helps provide the motion that an adult would have to do for hours on end, I didn't get it but read great things, it's pricey, but hey well worth the money form what I've read about colic!!!

  11. Beautiful card...Love that butterfly, and the cuttlebug background is perfect!

As for the Colic...hang in there! Julia used to scream for 1+ hour EVERY night around 9 pm. No reason we could ever figure out...she just did. So, we walked her around the house and held her and did everything we could to keep her comfortable until she stopped. This too shall pass. Good luck!

  15. Your card is fabulous - you made this sketch challenge look like a breeze!

Colic is so hard to deal with... my prayers will be with everyone (including the poor little guy) during these difficult days. Sometimes a baby just needs to cry - you're not doing him any long term harm to let him fuss sometimes when you're at your wit's end - colic or no colic!
I've also heard that a chiropractor can help babies with colic...
