Stampbook Saturday-Jared

Hey everyone, and Happy Sunday....this post was supposed to go up last night, but I got tired, and forgot...silly girl. It's not like I don't spend ALL DAY attached to my laptop..lol!!

It was my turn to do the Stampbook Saturday post on the There She Goes blog, and I thought I would share it here, too. I am not much of a scrapbooker, but I really do try to step out of my boundaries every once in awhile, and try something new!! NOT SKEERED!!! If you aren't familiar with what Stampbook Saturday is, it's where we take a card, and then make a scrapbook page based on that card.

(card by JESSICA KNUTSEN)

For my page this week, I decided to use this card by our fearless leader, Jessica, as my inspiration. I loved her layout, and since it is There She Goes Again week, I wanted to use one of the TSGA sets!!

I kept the layout, and still used Puppy Love set, but changed the colors and papers. My paper is MME Fine and Dandy Boy paper. I used Hot Fudge, Orange Fizz, and So Saffron paper. My scallops were made with the Jumbo Border from My Favorite Things. I used SU ribbon, and Jute Twine from the Ribbon Carousel. The Dizzy Doily Die-namics was used to cut out my circle background. My photo is of my ADORABLE nephew, Jared. I hand wrote his name and age...and wish I hadn't, but it is what it is! If you don't remember Jared, or are new to my blog, he is my older sister's oldest boy, and I was lucky enough to get to stay home and take care of him for the first 14months of his life. I was so sad when I had to go back to work.:( Isn't he still ADORABLE, though??!! He's a mess, but I love him to pieces!!

Well, that is it for me for now!! Thanks for stopping by!!

This week's challenge is our sponsored challenge, and this month's sponsor is on of your FAVORITE companies, and definitely one of MY favorite companies...It's My Favorite Things!! Our challenge was to make a child's birthday card, and who DOESN'T need those?? Seriously!!

I used more Kraft Funday paper for my background, as well. My ribbon is Black Twill from the Ribbon Carousel, and my Jute Twine is as well. I used the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics for my sentiment, and then embellished with the By The Numbers Die-namics, and the Stacking Stars Die-namics.

January Key Ingredients Blog Hop!!

Hey everyone, and welcome to my first blog hop with the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients team!! I am super excited, so forgive me if I messed something up, lol!!

This month's theme was to make a classroom treat for Valentine's!!

For my project, I decided to make a sucker holder/wrap!! To start, you cut a piece of card stock for the wrap to 2 5/8"x 6 1/4". I used different colors of card stock all from the January Key Ingredients Kit. You then score that piece at 1/2", 1", 3 1/2", 4". After scoring it, you punch a hole in the center of the panel between the 1/2" and 1" score lines. then, in the middle of the 1/2" you place a brad so that the flat part will be facing out.

I chose some Jolly Rancher suckers, just be sure the sucker gets a little bit of stick tape on it, so that it doesn't run away.

To finish, decorate the outside however you want!! For my decorations, I used more of the card stock in the Key Ingredients kit, as well as, some brads, ribbon from the KI kit, and the MFT Hearts Die-namics. My sentiment is from the A Year of Sweet Sentiments set.

We are excited to announce that we have LOTS of surprises and fun in store coming with the February kit!! You have until Jan. 31st to order this month's kit- still in PLENTY of time for Valentine's day!
