I'm This Week's Cupcake Sampler!!

Words cannot even express how EXCITED and HONORED I was to be asked by Taylor to be her Cupcake Sketch Sampler for this week!! I must have redone this card a hundred times, LOL!! But as nervous as it made me, I would do it again in a heartbeat!! Thanks for asking me Taylor, it is truly an honor!! For my card today, I used one of my FAVORITE Paper Pretties stamps, Sweets for the Sweet(currently out of stock, sorry, I really hate it when I do that. Be sure to check out the Pretties store too, Christie is now carrying Shimmerz, Blingz, and is having a GREAT sale on Copics!!) I stamped it on Gina K. White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it in with my Copics. The bar the utensils are hanging on was colored with my Silver gel pen. I then cut it out and layered it with Pumpkin Pie and Cool Caribbean. The DP I used is from My Mind's Eye, it is so yummy!! I cut the circles out with my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties. The ribbon is from SU( white taffeta and Pumpkin Pie grosgrain). I added some large white American Crafts brads too, along with some piercing. The sentiment was cut out with my Ribbon Slide tag dies and my Cuttlebug. Super cut huh!! Thanks again Taylor for choosing me, I can't wait to see what her team has come up with for this sketch too!! Thanks and have a great day! My Mom is getting married today, so Congrats Mom, I love you!!

Green Bugs...

So, I wasn't able to play in yesterday's Ways to Use It challenge, so I decided to combine it with today's Limited Supplies Challenge. The WT was to make a Green card, whether it be that you used recycle products or just the color green. I decided to go with Wild Wasabi, my favorite green that is sadly retired. For today's LSC, you had to use some sort of bug stamp, four layers and no patterned papers....oiy. This one was hard for me, but The end result is cute, plain, but cute. I used my Slow and Steady set from There She Goes, along with the mini Holiday's Galore set. My image was stamped on Gina K. White and then colored with my Copics. I added a piece of Wild Wasabi striped ribbon and a Cuttlebugged panel of Wild Wasabi cardstock. Pretty simple card for me huh!! That is it for me now, stay tuned for a SUPER exciting post later!!

For You...hmmm

So, this card started out as one thing, and then did a 180 and ended up somewhere else. I sat down to make something because I knew I wouldn't be here to post today(Thursday), and it just didn't work the way I thought it would. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, but I don't know..I guess I just pictured something else...anyone else do that? Anywho, I used my Friendship Flowers set from There She Goes. The vase was paper pieced with some DP from the SU Urban Oasis Pack. I paired it with Basic Black, Regal Rose and Kiwi Kiss. I then colored the flowers with my Copics. The ribbons are from SU, and the brads are from American Crafts(thanks Jodi!!)!! Well, hate to post and run...but my pillow is callin my name!! Thanks and have a great day!

A Hooga Booga Sketch

I decided that I needed some stamping therapy today, so my nephew was patiently wheeling about my house in his walker chasing the dog while I stamped a little. Luckily, I have been thinking about this card since I saw the sketch this morning, so when I sat down to make it, it was easy peasy!! Before I get into all the details, here is some news about all the happenings over at My Favorite Things. On Monday, Michelle posted the weekly spotlight. This week’s spotlight with My Favorite Things is on the 6″ x 6″ paper packs. They are currently available in Spring and Summer collections. There are 25 sheets per pack, five patterns, five sheets of each. Be sure while you are there to check out the matching ribbons, as well as all the new sparkly goodness that MFT has to offer!! We also announced the new Bubble Bin? The Bubble Bin is a selection of stamp sets that may be retiring or there may just be too many of a particular set in inventory that week. Each Monday the sets will change, quantities may be limited and sale prices will run from Monday to Sunday (or until they’re gone), so be sure to check it out each week to see if there’s something you “need” in the Bin! Also, this weeks HTDT tutorial, as well as the weekly challenge, is up, and our very own Amy has done a BANG UP job!! Her cards really are some of my most favorites, and her style is one that I envy. She is teaching Paper Pleating this week, so be sure to check it out!!
Okay, before you go into overload, and my nephew gets bored, here is my card for today's Sketch Challenge. I chose to use my Summer Paper Pack(the one that is on sale..hint hint) and the matching ribbon(actually the pink one is from the Spring Pack and the organdy from the Summer). I paper pieced my girl monster from Hooga Booga, and then colored the rest of her with my Copic markers. Her face was cut out separately too, to give it more dimension. Then I covered her and her hair bow with Dazzling Diamonds glitter using my two way glue pen. The flowers and brads are from MFT(couldn't find them on the site, so I think they may be unavailable). Okay, his patience is wearing thin...gotta run!! Have a great day!!

Prettie Wednesday-Jackie's Color Combo

So, Two weeks ago, Miss Jackie P.(Officer Jacque to some), challenged all the Prettie's to make a card using Kraft, Chocolate Chip, and Baja Breeze. I was SUPER excited cause I am in LOVE with my Parisian Breeze paper, and those are it's main colors. I decided to use an older Paper Pretties stamp, Cuddle Me. It is by far still my most favorite Sophia. I love all the other ones, but this one sorta started it all for me, so it is hard not to, kwim? I stamped her in Gina K. White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then paper pieced her dress with some PB DSP. I used my Copics to color the rest of her in. The sketch is from Jen's Sketch For You To Try from Saturday. all the ribbons are from SU, and the brads are from Doodlebug. I used my Oval Nestabilities to cut out Sophia, and my Ribbon Slide tag dies to cut out the sentiment. All the DP is from the SU Parisian Breeze pack.
Wanna play along? Just make a card using this color combo and leave a link here or on one of the other Pretties posts and show us what you got!! Speaking of Pretties, don't forget to go around and check out what GORGEOUSNESS they have created for this challenge...I am sure they are all amazing!

Do You KNOW What Time It IS???

I can't sleep..it is either the cold medicine, the time change, or the 3 2hr naps I took today(hey, I am sick, give me a break), but I am NOT tired, so I am stamping. This isn't a good thing though, I have a FULL day tomorrow, and I can't be tired...but I have a feeling I will be. Oh well, what can you do? Anywho, I saw that Emily posted the color challenge, so I decided to use it to make the Mojo Monday card I was working on anyway. I had been dying to use my Fluttering By set from Verve, so I decided it would work perfect with the CC-Rose Red, Always Artichoke and Basic Black. I stamped both butterfly's with Black in on Gina K. White and then colored them in with my Copics. I then added a layer of Perfect Pearls to them, so in real life, they shimmer. They were then cut out and popped up. The sketch, as I said before, is this week's Mojo Monday sketch. Both DP's are from SU. I did add some black May Arts polka dotted ribbon at the end...I have the hardest time making a card without ribbon on it!! The brads are from Doodlebug. I did a lot of piercing, and the Gina K. White layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. That is it for me now, I should probably try to force myself to sleep..wish me luck!!

Boy Oh Boy..

I swear, I haven't felt this bad in years, seriously!! I should be sleeping, but that is all I have done since yesterday morning, and I am now wide awake and bored out of my mind. I took that opportunity to make a card for today's Featured Stamper challenge. I chose a fairly simple one, cause I really don't have a ton of energy. This weeks FS is Judy(stampingqueenjar). She is so talented and such a sweetheart! I chose this card of hers to CASE. I changed the colors-went with Basic Black instead of Chocolate Chip, the embellishments, added a layer, added DP, and did piercing not stitching. The images are from Pocket Silhouettes. All accessories and supplies are from SU. Well, that is all the energy I have, off to the couch to whine!!LOL!!

Flowers Of Happiness...

This has to be one of my FAVORITE There She Goes sets, seriously!! It is called Flowers of Happiness, and it is awesome!! (I just went to the site and saw that it was out of stock right now, but it should be in on the 13th, so never fear!!) I love the gorgeous flowers in the set, and the sentiments are PERFECT!! When I saw today's Inspiration Challenge, I immediately thought of this stamp set. I wanted something in a simple color scheme, so I chose this dress, but decided to pick one color from it and run!! I decided to go with a Basic Black, Gina K. White and Rose Red. I used some Rose Red DP too. The small flowers were stamped twice, once on the 1 1/8ths inch square attached to the card, and again on another sheet of paper. I cut out the flowers, attached them with a brad from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts. The other flowers are actually the center of a bigger flower, I stamped those, cute them out, added a brad from PHPC, and then popped them up. All the images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with my Copics(R59 and R85). I believe the ribbon I used(the B&W) is from May Arts and the Rose Red is from SU. I punched my sentiment out with my middle sized oval punch and then layered it with the large oval punch. The sketch for this card is Taylor's Cupcake Sketch for this week. That is it for me now, thanks for looking!!

Hippity Hoppity..

Easter really is on it's way, and I have barely made a dent in my Easter cards for this year...gonna have to get it in gear, huh!! I am still super sick, so I am gonna keep this short! I made this card for the last Paper Pretties release party. It was part of a challenge that Charmaine gave us, to make a card that was inspired by a cartoon character. I chose to use Winnie the Pooh as my inspiration. My Bunny Hop Sophia image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on Gina K. White and then colored with my copics. I then layered it with Riding Hood Red and So Saffron. The DP is from the Washington Apple DSP from SU, as are all the embellishments(except my pesky spiral clip). The sentiment was cut out with my Round Tab punch from SU, as well as it's layer. The buttons are part of the Bouquet and Latte buttons, and all have white taffeta tied through them.
Well, that is it for me now...I am off to stamp..or maybe sleep...we shall see, LOL!

Ready, Set, Go!!!!

Today's Limited Supplies challenge was a super fast one, so I decided to play...now I am beat and I don't want to upload...nice. I am forcing myself to though, and then, I believe I will take the longest nap EVER!! The challenge was to make a card in 30mins. or less, mine only took 19mins. from start to finish...woohoo!! To top that off, it is an SU only card, woot!! Incase you are wondering, I have felt bad for a long time about not using my SU stuff as much as I should. I am FIERCELY loyal to their ribbon, card stock, embellishments, and inks, but I know I neglect their stamps. I am trying to do an SUO card at least two or three days a week...often times it has been more, but that is my goal. Unfortunately, I slip a lot of the time and add something that isn't SU, or use my Nesties. I just wish SU would get it over with and carry them, oh what a happy girl I would be!! Anywho, I started with Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I used my new favorite DSP(ya, I know I say that a lot, and tomorrow I will have a new one, but for today, FAVORITE), Parisian Breeze. I paired it with my Friends 24/7 set. The bird was stamped in Chocolate Chip, as was the sentiment, and then I used an aquapainter and my Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze ink pads to highlight it. The ribbons are from the Valet Ribbon originals, and the brads are from SU as well. I did a slight amount of sponging and it was done.
Well, that is it for me now, for real. Back to the couch!! Have a great day!!
