Prettie Wednesday- A CASE of the Pretties

So, two weeks ago, the fabulous Julie(jmasse) challenged all the Prettie Girls to chose a card from the gallery over at Paper Pretties and CASE it. Well, you know I HAD to CASE my girl Jodi, right?? I remember back when Jodi got her first Paper Pretties stamps, and this was the first card she ever made. Christie and I were FUMBLING around trying to email her as quick as we could to get her to be a PERMANENT member of the team...I am just happy she said yes!! Jodi GENIUS-LY combined both Made With Love and Sweets For the Sweet to make her card, so I had to do the same. I colored my image with my Copics, SU reinkers and a blender pen. The apron was paper pieced with some yummy Bella Rose DSP. The bowl and spoon, as well as the sentiment are from the Sweets For the Sweet set. I did change the colors, paper, embellishments and I punched holes instead of using my white gel pen on the scallops. Looking at this card right now, I realize I forgot to add her pearls!! I was going to use some super cute and super tiny pearl stickers but totally forgot, whoopsie!! Well, rest assured they will be on there BEFORE I mail this out!!
Wanna play along?? Just go to the gallery at Paper Pretties, choose a card, and then send me or one of the other Pretties the link so that we can see your creation!! Thanks for stopping by, no go see what the other Pretties are up to...me, I am back to the stamp table-the DD gallery opens tonight you know!!

That's What I Get..

for NOT printing out the sketch!! What am I talking about? Well, I was TRYING to make a card for Danielle's Prettie Weekly Challenge. Every week Danielle(dlounds) posts a challenge over at Paper Pretties in the challenge forum. Last week, she posted this super cool sketch, and I REALLY wanted to play along. The rules were to FOLLOW the sketch and to use Flutterby or Wade E. Bug. Now, if you don't have those stamps, you can still play, but to be entered to win the $5.00 gift certificate to the Boutique you must upload your creation to the Weekly Challenges gallery(at Paper Pretties) and use keyword PWC34. You have two weeks to enter your card for this challenge. So, you have to have it done by Saturday, January 18th @ midnight. I sat down to do this weeks color challenge at SCS, cause I just KNEW it would be awesome for Wade and for this sketch...and something happened. Maybe it was my little brain on Dirty Dozen overload, but I THOUGHT I had followed the sketch...that's what I get for thinking. I am including a picture of the sketch, just incase you want to play along(and don't want to screw it up like I did). For my card, I used the color challenge colors, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, and Kraft. I stamped my Wade E. Bug image on the craft cardstock using my Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad. He was then colored in using my Copic Ciao markers. I added a couple of spiral clips with some kraft taffeta ribbon. I the DP's both came from the Patterns pack that WAS a Hostess Level 1 gift from SU. I used my Cuttlebug and Circle Nestabilities to cut out both circles and to emboss the Whisper White panel, I used the Cuttlbug and distressed stripes folder. My sentiment is from the Paper Pretties set, Bugs and Fishes. I used 4 SU punches to create the layers-word window, scallop circle, 1 3/8ths circle, and 1 1/4 circle. Well, that is it for me now...the new Dirty Dozen gallery opens tomorrow night at midnight and I can't WAIT for you to see who is joining us this time around...although, I am gonna miss Cindy(onehappystamper) and Amy(pickletree) terribly!! Thanks for stopping by, have a Prettie day!!

So, I told you that Kim from My Favorite Things would be announcing something big today, and I was right!! Today, Kim introduced the Weekly Wow!! Here are the details taken directly from the bosses blog!!!!

"What is Weekly WOW? Weekly WOW is a new feature MFT will bring you every Monday. We will show you some of the fun products we carry in the store and perhaps some fun ways to use them! We will showcase anything from stamps to ribbon and everything in between! WOW!

All FULL SPOOLS of ribbon in the MFT store are on sale for 35% OFF! That’s right… save 35% on ALL full spools of ribbon (regularly priced $5.95-$7.95). Most spools include 25 yards of ribbon! At $5.15, that is only $.21 per yard! WOW! Visit the MFT store HERE to check out the 10 spools to choose from! Shop quickly for the best selection! Once it’s gone… it’s gone forever! Remember this sale is only good for Monday-Friday of this week."

Doesn't that just ROCK!!! I think so!! Since you came here, and you have read this far, how about some more eye candy?? After I made my cupcake card from last night, I decided to make a card using the other cupcake in the set. I used all the same materials, I only changed the ribbon and did crystal effects instead. The paper is from the Stephanie Fizer Spring Digital Paper Pack. What I LOVE about the digital paper is the fact that once you buy it, you have it forever. Just save it when you download it and then whenever you need a piece, print it out. No more worrying about using the last piece of your Dp....or is it just me that worries about that?? It takes very little ink to print too. For my paper, I printed it out on Whisper White cardstock from SU. Well, that is it for me now..thanks for looking!!(btw. brads are from SU along with the ribbon and crystal effects, the buttons are from Basic Grey and Prima)

Cupcakes and Digi Paper...yummm

So, have you seen the new Digital Paper Packs by Stephanie Fizer? They are for sale at My Favorite Things and are SUPER yummy!! I was a little scared of them at first...but my girl Jody hooked us all up with an AWESOME tutorial!!! You can check out her tutorial here!! Anywho...have you been enjoying MFT's What's Up Wednesday's fun?? Every week there is a new tutorial, a challenge, a hook up(sale product) and MUCH MUCH MORE!! Be sure to check it out in the MFT member forum. Due to the awesome success of What's Up Wednesdays, Kim(The MFT Lady) has a little treat and a super special announcement tomorrow that will tell you all about it. Be sure to go NOW and get signed up for the treat and then check back tomorrow for all the details!!

My card was made using 3 of the different papers from the Spring paper pack. I also used Cindy's MFT sketch challenge. I paper pieced the base of the cupcake, used Liquid Applique on the incing, and then colored the glaze and cherry with my Copic Markers and covered it with crystal effects. The sentiment was cut out with my SU key tag punch. I added lots of brads, some Basic Grey buttons, and some YUMMY celery colored satin ribbon. The bottom button looks a little off, but it does match the small stripe in the paper...REALLY need to get some celery colored buttons, LOL!! Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for looking!!

FS101 Jaydekay

Today's featured stamper is Judy(jaydekay). She has a fantastic gallery, full of yummy eye candy. Unfortunately, my card creeped away from me in the end...but the general idea is still there....I think, LOL!! I chose this card...one because I wanted to do a card for the Limited Supplies Challenge from Friday, and I thought instead of black and white, I could go red and white. I also added layers, eliminated the sentiment panel and added it to the bottom of the card, added a heart(or two), and used a small strip of DP instead of the whole base. Okay, it RAN away...I swear I will try again, LOL!! My DP is from the Patterns Pack that was a Level One Hostess set for SU. I added some red brads to the sides of it, cause I love brads, LOL!! My main image is from the Whipper Snapper set Bear Hugs. It was designed by Anna Wight and I LOVE her work(like you didn't already know that)!! I colored the image with my BRAND NEW COPICS....WAHOOO!! Yep, I finally took the plunge and I gotta tell you...should NEVER of waited this long. One good thing though, by getting good with the Su markers, it makes Copics EASY...seriously. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black, and the balloons were done twice. I cut one set out and popped them up. I stamped the sentiment directly on my Kraft layer and then punched a heart in it. I then added a piece of Real Red patterns paper BEHIND the layer(on the base) and then popped the top layer up so there is some depth to it. I added a second heart and then pierced around it, the main image, and the card base. My ribbon came from All That Scraps. So, what do you think??!! Thanks for stopping by, have a great night!!

King of the Castle..

So, one of the FUNNIEST birthday cards I ever gave my DH was one that said " Happy Birthday to the King of the Castle" on the front, and then on the inside it said...."From the Power Behind the Throne".....heheheheheheh!!! I still love that, and when I saw My Favorite Things new set, Good Knight, I was LOL at this sentiment. Now, I just need to talk Kim into making me a Power Behind the Throne stamp and all will be well!! I love this super cute castle in the set, so I decided to use it. It was colored with 3 different gray markers(SU Going Gray, Copic Warm Gray no. 3, and Copic Cool Grey No. 3). I then covered the whole thing with crystal effects to give it some dimension. The DP is from the Basic Grey Arcahic pack...love that stuff!! I made this card for the MFT release and then never showed it....duhhh. I added some silver brads and spiral clip with some Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain. That is it for me now, I REALLY need to get my stamp room cleaned up!! Thanks for looking!!

Looking For Love...The Final Sketch

I AM A VERVE CHALLENGE CHAMPION....heheheehehe, I have been DYING to do that for days, LOL!! So, for this months Verve Stamps release they are holding four challenges, 3 sketches and a color challenge. Once you get them all done, you have to put your name in the I am a Verve challenge champion thread. The winner, or rather, two winners, will receive the whole release...me likey free stamps, LOL!! For this card, I used my yet to be inked Thankful Blossoms. I am so proud, I am two sets away from inking all my Verve sets at least once. That is one of my "goals" this year...to use what I have already bought. I am not gonna lie and say I won't buy anything new...gotta keep the economy stimulated, but I am going to make a very REAL attempt to use all the stamps I have bought up until this point....I figure if I use two new stamps/stamp sets a day, I will be done using all of them in 2012(totally kidding, I will be done way before 2012..maybe 2011, hehe). Anywho..I stamped the "flower(not sure what you REALLY call it, but in Jessie land-it's a flower)" three times on Gina K. white with my Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with my SU markers. I cut out different layers and glued them on then added a Build A Brad from Su to the center. My DSP is from the Georgia Peach pack from SU. I cut it and it's layer out with my Label 2 nestabilities and pierced a border around the Old Olive layer. The rest is pretty easy to figure out!! I am entering this card into Jen del Muro's Blog Tart giveaway(for lack of a better word). Her contest is HUGE and for a VERY good cause. The rules of the challenge are to make one card, MAIL it to the specified charity(Dallas Baptist University), and then enter all your info on the link provided. Verve Stamps is one of the sponsors along with all my favorite stamp companies!! That is one thing that I LOVE about the stamping industry...we sure know how to pull together and support each other!! For more info on Jen's giveaway, you can check out her newly GORGEOUS blog!! By the way, you can only be entered one time, but you can make and mail as many as you like!! Mine is already in an envie to be mailed out tomorrow!!
That is it for me now!! I am off to make a starry card(for today's Ways To Use It challenge), see ya soon!!

Looking For Love Parts 2 and 3

Man, have I been posting a ton or what, LOL!! I guess I am back in a grove or something...the after holidays funk has left the building(I hope)!! I decided to go ahead and do the Looking For Love Verve Challenges from yesterday and today. They were both sketch challenges, and I personally challenged myself to use two sets that I haven't inked before: Somebunny and Birthday Surprise. For the first sketch, I used my Birthday Surprise set. I stamped the bird with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it and the balloons(also stamped the same way on Gina K. 80lb white) with my SU markers. I then layered it with Bashful Blue, Rose Red and Old Olive. The DP is from the retired Rose Red Prints DSP. I layered it with more Rose Red and used my SU scalloped edge punch to create the scallops. I then added the ribbon(both SU) and all the silver brads. The white layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. After it was all put together, and all my piercing was done, I added some glitter with my two way glue pen. Looking back, I wish I had left off the glitter, but what can you do.

For this second card, I used my Somebunny set...isn't it CUTE!! I love those super cute and floppy ears. I colored her/him with my SU markers after stamping her/him on Gina K. white with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The ribbon was wrapped around the top corner first, then I added a bow with a glue dot. The ribbon around the DP panel, is retired Close To Cocoa grosgrain from SU. My DP is from the Imaginisce Happy Birthday pack that I got from Paper Addiction. The heart was punched out of some retired Loves Me DSP from SU. I layered it with Rose Red and Close To Cocoa and then added it to a Gina K. 120lb white base that I had stamped my sentiment on. This card is a tiny bit plain...bit I think I like it.

Well, that is it for me now...gotta get to bed or it is gonna be a LONG day tomorrow!!

Prettie Wednesday-Jess's Color Challenge

So, two weeks ago my pal Jess(pinkgirl76) challenged all the Prettie girls to make a card using Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and Baja Breeze(or similar colors) and I gotta tell you, I LOVE this combo. Not only do I LOVE this combo, I LOVE my card. This was my first time using my Lovebugs set(from Paper Pretties), and it is SO CUTE!! I was going to use both of the bugs, but I got this little cutie colored first and decided it was time to stop...she was just too cute all on her own. I started by stamping her on Gina K. white with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad. I then colored her in using my SU markers, re inkers and a blender pen, and then covered all the Baja parts with some December Sky Shimmerz. I then cut and embossed her with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties. I don't know who I saw do it first, but I decided to alternate from scalloped to regular ovals so that I could use most of the challenge colors as her matte, and I LOVE it. The spiral clips were a Christmas gift from my super sweet SS Jackie P.(does that girl know me or what)!! I added some Baja Breeze striped ribbon to finish them off. The base was run through my Cuttlebug with the Argyle folder and the DP is from the Murifield DSP. I stamped half my sentiment on the outside, and then finished it on the inside. The dot after my were added with my SU black marker. THis card is on it's way to Jackie R.(babitoons), hope she likes it!! Well, that is it for me now!! Be sure to blurf around and see all the rest of the DT's creations for this challenge. If you want to, and we REALLY want you to, why don't you play along!! Just leave us a link here so we can all ooogle your goodies, LOL!!
Thanks for stopping and have a great day!!

Sent With Love

I got my new There She Goes stamps in the mail yesterday, and I couldn't WAIT to get them inky...so much so that I accidentally ripped one in half...ACKKKK!! How totally sad is that?? Before you ask, I already emailed Jessica and even though it was TOTALLY my fault, she has already sent me a new one...now how sweet is that!! It had nothing to do with the stamp...that is why they tell you to peel them off carefully...can you imagine the look on my face when I only had half of a fire hydrant in my hand...geez. So, after I got over the initial shock and following sadness(then I felt really stupid), I decided to use my new Special Delivery set to make a card for today's SCS sketch challenge. I love to do challenges, but seriously, why are there so many good ones...I want to do them all, but if I did, I wouldn't leave my stamp table!! I started by stamping my mailbox image twice. I colored them both with my SU markers and I cut out the mail box part and the grass. I then stamped the hearts separately and popped them up. The image was layered with Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. I used my SU scallop square punch to layer with my sentiment, and all the ribbons are from SU. The DP is Basic Grey's Bittersweet, which I got at Paper Addiction. The white layer was run through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots folder. Isn't this set so CUTE!! I love it!! Well, that is it for me now...gotta go work on some Verve challenges!! Thanks for stopping by, yet again...have a great day!!
