Looking For Love...The Final Sketch

I AM A VERVE CHALLENGE CHAMPION....heheheehehe, I have been DYING to do that for days, LOL!! So, for this months Verve Stamps release they are holding four challenges, 3 sketches and a color challenge. Once you get them all done, you have to put your name in the I am a Verve challenge champion thread. The winner, or rather, two winners, will receive the whole release...me likey free stamps, LOL!! For this card, I used my yet to be inked Thankful Blossoms. I am so proud, I am two sets away from inking all my Verve sets at least once. That is one of my "goals" this year...to use what I have already bought. I am not gonna lie and say I won't buy anything new...gotta keep the economy stimulated, but I am going to make a very REAL attempt to use all the stamps I have bought up until this point....I figure if I use two new stamps/stamp sets a day, I will be done using all of them in 2012(totally kidding, I will be done way before 2012..maybe 2011, hehe). Anywho..I stamped the "flower(not sure what you REALLY call it, but in Jessie land-it's a flower)" three times on Gina K. white with my Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with my SU markers. I cut out different layers and glued them on then added a Build A Brad from Su to the center. My DSP is from the Georgia Peach pack from SU. I cut it and it's layer out with my Label 2 nestabilities and pierced a border around the Old Olive layer. The rest is pretty easy to figure out!! I am entering this card into Jen del Muro's Blog Tart giveaway(for lack of a better word). Her contest is HUGE and for a VERY good cause. The rules of the challenge are to make one card, MAIL it to the specified charity(Dallas Baptist University), and then enter all your info on the link provided. Verve Stamps is one of the sponsors along with all my favorite stamp companies!! That is one thing that I LOVE about the stamping industry...we sure know how to pull together and support each other!! For more info on Jen's giveaway, you can check out her newly GORGEOUS blog!! By the way, you can only be entered one time, but you can make and mail as many as you like!! Mine is already in an envie to be mailed out tomorrow!!
That is it for me now!! I am off to make a starry card(for today's Ways To Use It challenge), see ya soon!!

Looking For Love Parts 2 and 3

Man, have I been posting a ton or what, LOL!! I guess I am back in a grove or something...the after holidays funk has left the building(I hope)!! I decided to go ahead and do the Looking For Love Verve Challenges from yesterday and today. They were both sketch challenges, and I personally challenged myself to use two sets that I haven't inked before: Somebunny and Birthday Surprise. For the first sketch, I used my Birthday Surprise set. I stamped the bird with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it and the balloons(also stamped the same way on Gina K. 80lb white) with my SU markers. I then layered it with Bashful Blue, Rose Red and Old Olive. The DP is from the retired Rose Red Prints DSP. I layered it with more Rose Red and used my SU scalloped edge punch to create the scallops. I then added the ribbon(both SU) and all the silver brads. The white layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. After it was all put together, and all my piercing was done, I added some glitter with my two way glue pen. Looking back, I wish I had left off the glitter, but what can you do.

For this second card, I used my Somebunny set...isn't it CUTE!! I love those super cute and floppy ears. I colored her/him with my SU markers after stamping her/him on Gina K. white with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The ribbon was wrapped around the top corner first, then I added a bow with a glue dot. The ribbon around the DP panel, is retired Close To Cocoa grosgrain from SU. My DP is from the Imaginisce Happy Birthday pack that I got from Paper Addiction. The heart was punched out of some retired Loves Me DSP from SU. I layered it with Rose Red and Close To Cocoa and then added it to a Gina K. 120lb white base that I had stamped my sentiment on. This card is a tiny bit plain...bit I think I like it.

Well, that is it for me now...gotta get to bed or it is gonna be a LONG day tomorrow!!

Prettie Wednesday-Jess's Color Challenge

So, two weeks ago my pal Jess(pinkgirl76) challenged all the Prettie girls to make a card using Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and Baja Breeze(or similar colors) and I gotta tell you, I LOVE this combo. Not only do I LOVE this combo, I LOVE my card. This was my first time using my Lovebugs set(from Paper Pretties), and it is SO CUTE!! I was going to use both of the bugs, but I got this little cutie colored first and decided it was time to stop...she was just too cute all on her own. I started by stamping her on Gina K. white with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad. I then colored her in using my SU markers, re inkers and a blender pen, and then covered all the Baja parts with some December Sky Shimmerz. I then cut and embossed her with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties. I don't know who I saw do it first, but I decided to alternate from scalloped to regular ovals so that I could use most of the challenge colors as her matte, and I LOVE it. The spiral clips were a Christmas gift from my super sweet SS Jackie P.(does that girl know me or what)!! I added some Baja Breeze striped ribbon to finish them off. The base was run through my Cuttlebug with the Argyle folder and the DP is from the Murifield DSP. I stamped half my sentiment on the outside, and then finished it on the inside. The dot after my were added with my SU black marker. THis card is on it's way to Jackie R.(babitoons), hope she likes it!! Well, that is it for me now!! Be sure to blurf around and see all the rest of the DT's creations for this challenge. If you want to, and we REALLY want you to, why don't you play along!! Just leave us a link here so we can all ooogle your goodies, LOL!!
Thanks for stopping and have a great day!!

Sent With Love

I got my new There She Goes stamps in the mail yesterday, and I couldn't WAIT to get them inky...so much so that I accidentally ripped one in half...ACKKKK!! How totally sad is that?? Before you ask, I already emailed Jessica and even though it was TOTALLY my fault, she has already sent me a new one...now how sweet is that!! It had nothing to do with the stamp...that is why they tell you to peel them off carefully...can you imagine the look on my face when I only had half of a fire hydrant in my hand...geez. So, after I got over the initial shock and following sadness(then I felt really stupid), I decided to use my new Special Delivery set to make a card for today's SCS sketch challenge. I love to do challenges, but seriously, why are there so many good ones...I want to do them all, but if I did, I wouldn't leave my stamp table!! I started by stamping my mailbox image twice. I colored them both with my SU markers and I cut out the mail box part and the grass. I then stamped the hearts separately and popped them up. The image was layered with Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose. I used my SU scallop square punch to layer with my sentiment, and all the ribbons are from SU. The DP is Basic Grey's Bittersweet, which I got at Paper Addiction. The white layer was run through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots folder. Isn't this set so CUTE!! I love it!! Well, that is it for me now...gotta go work on some Verve challenges!! Thanks for stopping by, yet again...have a great day!!

I used my new favorite paper from SU, Murifield. I paired it with Pacific Point and Baja Breeze. The owls were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then they were colored in using my SU markers, re inkers, and a blender pen. The image was cut out with my Oval Nesties and Cuttlebug. The bottom white panel was embossed with my Argyle folder after stamping my sentiment. I added some silver star brads from the Stylized Silver Hardware from SU. The stars were made with my SU star punches. All my ribbon is from SU too, the only thing that isn't is the spiral clip.

Eating My Words....

Eating my words isn't really something I like to do, in fact, if you know me at all, I HATE it. So I say this with a heavy heart....this color combo doesn't suck.....there I said it. Okay, so I thought it would be horrendous, and in "theory", it was, but all put together...me likey!!! It makes for an AWESOME boy or masculine card..so that works for me. As soon as I saw this color combo, I knew I would be using this image, Look Out World, from Paper Pretties...it just SCREAMS little boy to me!! I started by stamping my image on Gina K white with Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored it in with my SU markers and then layered it with the challenge colors, Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue, and Garden Green. The color panels were all run through my Cuttlebug with different folders: Spots and Dots(I think), Swirls, and Traffic Jam. I then added some large pewter eyelets and popped them up on my Gina K. white base. To finish it, I stamped my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black and tied a piece of Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon around it. See, I told you, not bad at all!!
So, have you been to the Paper Clip yet?? Well, my SBFF, Jodi(kharmagirl), has been working her super talented tail off, and it is FABULOUS!! She posted her spotlight on shopping today, so go check it out and see what kind of deal she has cooked up for you!! Thanks for stopping by again!!

Anything is Possible...

with Cupcakes, LOL!! That is my version of "with enough caffeine/chocolate I could rule the world", whatcha think? I think it rocks too, LOL!! This card is for two challenges, Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketch (I just realized my clip is on the wrong side, so pretend with me, LOL) and the Looking For Love Release Challenges. If you don't already know, I LOVE release parties and celebrations...they are so fun, and at the end, I get to buy stamps and I LOVE that even more, LOL!! This week in the Verve Members Forum on SCS, they are having "Looking For Love Release Challenges". Day One's challenge was a color challenge to use Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom and Kraft(or similar colors substituted). I chose my current favorite set, Cupcake Affair, and stamped it once on Gina K. white and once on some Kraft Patterns DSP. I then colored the top and flowers and paper pieced the cup. I added some Mark Richards pearls to the flowers and around the cupcake. It was then layered with Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom, and Kraft. The DP is the same that I used on the cupcake. The sentiment is also from Verve and is part of their Here For You set. That is it for me now...I am off to tackle the HORRENDOUS color challenge(seriously Brilliant Blue-gag) over at SCS. I have a feeling this going to be an EMBRACING the white space kinda card, LOL!! Wish me luck!!

MFTeasers-Ho-Ho-Ho

Jared has a Dr's appointment tomorrow, so I wanted to go ahead and post my peek tonight, but it is technically for tomorrow!! I gotta tell ya, I am on a ROLL this week. First it was the "wrestlin card" for Melanie's Blogaversary, and now this. Now, I know that Christmas is over, but do any of you watch Two and Half Men. Recently, I saw a rerun of the episode called Santa's Village of the D***ed, do you remember which one I am talking about?? Where Alan is dating his cooking teacher, they all get fat, and she loses her mind at Christmas?? Well, when I saw this stamp set, and I was brainstorming ideas, her "outfit" popped in my head and the plan was hatched!! I seriously GIGGLED the whole time I was making this card...am I the only one that does that?? Well, at least I cracked myself up!! Anywho, here are the details for the My Favorite Things release!

My Favorite Things (http://www.mftstamps.com/) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, January 7th from 9-10 p.m. Eastern time. This month there are FOUR new sets being released including a Who's that Girl set that is Maid for You!Head over to the MFT forum on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. We hope to see you there on Wednesday night.

So, this is the new Maid For You set...and I totally am getting coal next year for this one, LOL!! Isn't this HYSTERICAL...hehehe, I am dying here!! Okay, calm down...here are the details!! I started by stamping the main image on Gina K 80lb white with Momento Tuxedo Black and colored it in. I then layered it with Real Red and Basic Black. The white scalloped layer was made with my Rectangle Nesties and Cuttlebug. I added some crystal effects to the TV screen and some Liquid Applique to the bottom of the dress and "Santa's" slippers. hehe. For the wall hanging, I took my Oval Nesties and first cut out the scallop layer, then out of the scalloped layer I used a smaller regular oval nestie and cut out the center so I just had the frame. The vintagey Santa image is from some DP in my K&Co. Christmas stack. For my sentiment, I used the " Who You Callin a Hoe?" sentiment from my Twisted Sentiments set(hehe)and colored just the HO in Who with my SU black marker. My DP is from the Imaginisce Twitterpated line which I just got from Paper Addiction. It is super shiny and SO CUTE in person. My black ribbon is May Arts that Julie sent me, and the red was a gift with purchase from an order I placed somewhere(can't remember where). The black panel was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss dots folder then layered with a white scalloped layer.

SOOO, what do you think??hehehe

Be sure to check out what the other designers have been up to!! You can see all the creations for this release here or check out their blogs(listed in my sidebar)!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

For today's peek, I am showing you the new Stephanie Fizer set, Owl For All Seasons. If you can remember back that far, my favorite Halloween set had to be Stephanie's Monster Squad...it is SERIOUSLY cute. These little owls TOTALLY remind me of it..yayy!! For this card, I used my new favorite, Raspberry Tart DSP. I stamped my Owls on Gina K. 120lb cardstock and colored them in with my SU markers. The owl in the middle was stamped twice and popped up to give it some dimension. I then cut it, and its layers out with my long rectangle nestabilities. The hearts were stamped with Rose Red, Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss and then I added Diamond Stickles to all of them. I got those ginormous silver brads from my pal Jackie P. and the ribbon is from SU. I also used some Making Memories nested heart chipboard to make my heart embellishments. They were covered with some more Raspberry Tart DSP. This card measures 8x4...its HUGE, but I LOVE it!! Before you ask, I don't buy special envelopes for cards this size. I just send them in regular old business sized envelopes!!

Be sure to check out all the other MFT designers(their blogs are linked in my sidebar) to see their peeks, trust me, you WON'T be disappointed. To see all the samples in one place, check out this gallery!!

The Celebration Continues....

So we are in Day 5 of my friend Melanie's Blogaversary celebration and I am pretty sure we are having fun, right??!!! That's what I thought!! For today's card, I decided to take a whack at CASEing JulieHRR again. I chose this card of hers and changed the image, colors, eliminated the scallops, and paper....that's it, Yayyy ME!!! I did it, LOL!! I actually think this card is super cute too, which is a change for me. Normally when I make something this under done( as compared to my normal 15 layers and GOBS of embellishments), I am not happy with it, but I think this card is sassy and cute!! I stamped my Hippo from Melanie's Hip Hop Accessories stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black on Gina K. 120lb white card stock. This stamp set can be bought at Gina K. designs and is SO FUN. It was made to coordinate with her Just So Hippy/Hoppy sets, and it gives you a TON more choices!! Anywho, my Hippo was colored with my SU Going Gray marker and her nails were colored with my Regal Rose marker. I actually stamped the hippo three times, colored all three, then cut out parts of it to give it more dimension. I used my Circle Nestabilities to cut out the white and my Scalloped Circles to cut out the Soft Sky layer. The DP is from My Mind's Eye and it was layered on top of a piece of Soft Sky. The base is Gina K. white also....simple, easy and SUPAH CUTE!!
Well, that is it for me now...my nephew will be back here tomorrow so, FUN FOR ME, LOL!! Also, sneak peeks of the new My Favorite Things releases start tomorrow, so stay tuned..you don't wanna miss them!!

Be sure to blurf around and see what the other designers have created in honor of Melanie's celebration. And don't forget to stop by her blog and see what she is giving away today!!
