Prettie Wednesday- Color Challenge
Two weeks ago, my BSF Jodi(kharmagirl), challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card using Real Red, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip. I don't usually wait until the last minute to make my card for the Wednesday challenge, especially since we have two weeks notice, but I have been so busy lately it almost slipped my mind!!
I decided that I would just play in the morning, but then I saw the SCS sketch challenge, and I knew what I wanted to do. Jared was really restless today, and didn't sleep much at all. Finally, he started to get VERY cranky so I decided to sit with him and hold him while he slept- I know that it is bad, but he really was miserable!! Well, anyway, I feel asleep too, and woke up almost two hours later...YIKES!! So needless to say, I am not exactly tired yet. I used my Snowflake Kisses set from Paper Pretties as well as Jodi's Color Challenge and the SCS sketch challenge. The main images were stamped on Gina K. pure luxury cardstock and colored in with my SU markers, re inkers, and a blender pen. I then layered them on some circles punched out with my SU circle punches. The DP is from the Ski Slope DSP and the ribbons are from SU also. The Baja Breeze layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes folder and then I took my White Stazon ink pad and rubbed it on the embossed parts. I added a few brads, some piercing, and then I did a sentiment pennant and it was done. I keep seeing Anna Wight's gorgeous pennants, so I just had to try one. Not sure I like the placement, but I do like the idea of it!! Well, that is it for me now...again. I am off to bed, thanks for stopping by!! Be sure to blurf around and check out what the other DT members have been up too!!

My Second Tutorial- WUW!!

This weeks tutorial is on how to make an easy peasy gift card holder...so be sure to check that out and let me know what you think!! Here is a look at the finished project...SUPAH cute right!! The main image is from the MFT Window Shopping set, and the sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments. Also, the snowflake that I stamped with Real Red on the tag part is from the Baby It's Cold set. I used Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Pretty in Pink along with my DCWV Christmas paper. The buttons are from Walmart, and all my ribbons are from SU EXCEPT the red polka dot..not sure who sent that to me, but it it YUMMY.
I colored my main image with SU markers, except for the wall and her dress which were paper pieced. For more details on how I made this...check out my tutorial and be sure to look around the forum for all the What's Up Wednesday sales and specials, not to mention the WUW challenge!!That's all for me for now...back to my christmas cards!! More Christmas Cards
So, I am really making some headway on my Christmas cards, but I am no where near done yet...yikes!! Hopefully, you aren't sick of seeing Christmas cards yet!! For this card, or cards, I decided to use Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketch from yesterday. I was going to use the super cute snowmen, but I wanted to do something a little more elegant, so this is what I came up with...pretty huh!!!
I used the Verve Stamps set, Poinsettia Christmas. I stamped the poinsettias with Black Stazon on Very Vanilla, and colored them in using my Riding Hood Red reinker and a blender pen. I then cut them out and added three of them to my long panel, the center one is up on a pop dot. I then layered them with PTI Spring Moss, SU Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red. The centers were colored in with my gold gel pen. I the DP is from Webster's Pages(Winter Wonderland Collection- Candy Cane) and was on sale in the Paper Prettie's Store. It is no longer available, but there are still some fabulous things there to look at, and it is still marked down 75%!! It was layered with a piece of Riding Hood Red, which I used my SU scalloped edge punch on. The ribbon is retired SU Gold Organdy..yummy stuff!! I embossed my Vanilla layer with my Cuttlebug and Textile folder AFTER I stamped my sentiment in Black. I did some piercing and then added a few gold brads and it was done. The card in the back was my first version, but I couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I decided I would let YOU all see both, and you can tell me which one YOU like better!! That is it for me now...thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Gliding By
Today's color challenge over at SCS is a GORGEOUS combo, Taken With Teal, Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red, but when I first saw it, I was scared. I think anything with Taken with Teal scares me though- which SORT OF explains why I am still using the very first package of CS I bought of that color....back in 2002/3!!! No lie, it still has the old order number on it, LOL!!! I used the January Stamp of the Month from Paper Pretties.
This stamp is called Gliding By and will be sent out to our SOTMC subscribers at the beginning of January. If you aren't already a subscriber, whatcha waiting for??? Not only are the images TOTALLY adorable, it is reasonably priced, easy to do, and you get your stamps a MONTH BEFORE THEY ARE RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC...wahooo!! I love that!! You have until December 31st at midnight to get signed up and receive this super cute stamp before it is released to the public...and don't forget to tell them I sent you!! Anywho, I stamped my image with Black Stazon on some Gina K. pure luxury white card stock(the 80 not the 120). I then used my SU markers, re-inkers, and blender pens to colored her in. After outlining her with my Prismacolor Cool Grey 20%marker, I added some glitter to all the Baja Breeze parts as well as her trail using my Sakura Stardust Glitter pen. The blades on the skates were colored with my Silver gel pen that I got at Target. I added some piercing, matching ribbons(all from SU), a spiral clip, and I also used some YUMMY paper from the Ski Slope DSP. The sentiment was cut into a skinny little strip and then I used my SU Word Window punch to round out the corners. Since I am still DESPERATELY working on my Christmas cards, I think I will add this one to the pile, may even have to make a few more!! That is it for me now...thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

ACCCKKKK!!!
So SERIOUSLY...I am way too behind to ever even think about being caught up, anyone else?? Since I DESPERATELY need to get my Christmas cards made, I have been using all the challenges I participate in(okay, only the last two, but ALL of them til I am done, hehehe) to help me to mass produce my cards.
Today's card is part of the Featured Stamper challenge over on SCS. Today's FS is Anna(Annascreations), and I chose this card to case. I made a few changes: moved the sentiment and ribbon, add brads and layers and embossing, changed the images and colors. My main image is from the Christmas Cardinal set and was stamped with Pallette Hybrid Noir ink. I then colored it in with my re-inkers, blender pen, and SU markers. I then layered it with Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. The paper is from the Ski Slope DSP by SU and the felt ribbon is from the Alpine Originals. I embossed the Chocolate Chip layer with my Argyle folder and the circles were cut out with my circle nestabilities. The sentiment is from the SU hostess level one set Best Yet. I punched it out with my middle sized oval punch. I sponged the edges of the image and the oval to soften them up a bit. Well, that is it for me now...more tomorrow!!!
For now, I leave you with a new picture of the 4kids in this world that make my life worth living!!

Snow Wonderful
So, when I saw this weeks Inspiration Challenge, I REALLY tried not to go to far out in left field. I was gonna do something with the colors and pattern, but I ended up just using the snowman that THIS NECKLACE (from the Etsy store, Images Under Glass) made me think of. I used my new Verve Stamps set, Snow Wonderful(which is on sale right now...so if you have been looking, here ya go!!)!!
It has been DAYS since I stamped, so I was starting to REALLY miss it!! I love my nephew, but man, he is a TIME SUCKER(basically he SUCKS up all my free time, LOL)!! I started with some paper that was left out on my table, cause it was there, and I love it, and I was too lazy to look for other stuff, heheh. I used Ruby Red, Garden Green and Baja Breeze to go along with it. The snowman was stamped with Black Stazon and then colored with my SU markers. I did add some Sakura Stardust Glitter pen to the scarf and band on the hat. The sentiment is from the Verve set, Snowflake Splendor. It was stamped and then punched out with my SU square punches. I followed Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketch except I just had my ribbon go around the little panel and I added the brads and snowflake. The snowflake was made with my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch and the brads are from SU, as well as the ribbon. I did run the white layer through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes folder just to give it a little more interest. Since I like this card well enough, I am off to mass produce about 9 more....awww, the joys of Christmas!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Just One More...
Here is the only other card you haven't seen that I made for the My Favorite Things release...and let me say, I am IN LOVE with this set!!
I am out of town until tonight, but I wanted to have something posted so I pre-scheduled this card to show up...but never fear...I will be back and making Christmas cards like a WILD WOMAN this weekend!! I am thinking 10 of each design til I am done....we are running out of time people!!

Anyway, I used some Paper Studio DP to paper piece my purses from the new MFT set, Tote-ally Fantastic. The paper is from their Black and White stack and I picked it up at Hobby Lobby. This card measures 3x6, so it is short, but fabulous, LOL!! My ribbon is from SU, and the brads are from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts. The rest of the card is pretty simple, but if you have any questions, feel free to email me!! Thanks for stopping by and I will be back later with more goodies!!

Ways To Use Envelopes
I have to tell you that I am about the Worlds WORST at decorating envelopes. It really adds so much to your card, but if it isn't part of a package or hand delivered, I figure, why bother. As someone who works for the Post Office, I know what they come in looking like sometimes, so I don't see the point in wasting my time, right, RIGHT!! Well, when I saw today's Ways To Use it challenge over at SCS, I knew that I WANTED to decorate and envelope to go along with this super cute Snowbunny Flopsey card I made!!
It is part of a package I am sending to my Secret Santa-ee, so I figure that she deserves the best!! First the details about the card, and then the envelope. For the card, I used Some Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, and this yummy Deja Views Flurries and Frost paper. It has to be my FAVORITE DP for Christmas..and I sure hope I can find some more!! My Snowbunny Flopsey, which was released by My Favorite Things last night, was stamped with Black Stazon ink on Whisper White and then colored in with my SU markers, blender pen, and Baja Breeze re-inker. I cut it our and layered it on a WW oval that had been cut out with my Nestabilities. I really wanted his big ol' ears to hang out of the oval....So FUN!! I did some piercing, added some white brads, a figure 8 spiral clip, and a bunch of yummy ribbon. All of my ribbon is from SU, EXCEPT for the wide Chocolate Grosgrain, which came from my pal Jody. For the envelope, I used some more of my DP, a piece of wide Baja Breeze grosgrain, and some SU buttons(part of the Button Bouquet Buttons and the Soft Subtle). I then stamped the snowflake from Baby It's Cold Outside(which is currently out of stock but will be back really soon) in Baja Breeze all over the envelope. For the ribbon, I cut a slit at the bottom and top of the envelope and threaded it through so it won't affect the way the envelope works.

So, is anyone else FREAKIN OUT that it is only 20ish days til Christmas??? I still don't have my Christmas cards all finished...YIKES!!! I have a feeling that no matter how much I HATE to mass produce...I am gonna have to!! I haven't even started shopping yet. And I don't think I have said it here yet, but I did get all my inside decorations up, but seriously, there are still pumpkin lights in my yard and some severely frozen mums, LOL!! I put the lights in my windows though, and hopefully, in between hunting sessions this weekend, I can con my DH and my BIL to help me get my yard done.....I have WAY to much stuff and it is a JOB!! We are talking mini spiral trees to line the walk and front of the house, candy cane lights for the sidewalk, 5 blow up decorations, 4 spiral trees, 3 deer, 2 sets of presents, and all the lights for the roof.......can you say.....OBSESSED with CHRISTMAS!!!LOL!!!
At least I got my tree done, something I LOVE to do, but DREAD every year because I am so OCD it is just never good enough. I seriously spent 4hours putting it up and another hour since then moving stuff......I try not to look at it to often for fear I might see something else that needs moved...anyone else like this??

Well, that is it for me now....I am gonna leave you with a picture of my tree. It is the only decent one that I could get and it is STILL a little blurry. I will work on that!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Prettie Wednesday- Heat Gun
So, two weeks ago, Danille(dlounds), challenged all the Prettie Girls to make a card using our heat gun. It didn't matter how you used it, you just had to use it....grrrr.
My heat gun and I don't get along very well. Okay, it isn't the heat guns fault, I am just lazy and I hate to emboss, LOL!!! I know there are lots of creative ways to use your heat gun, and I know I SHOULD of done something more inventive, but I didn't, ehehehe!! I stamped the image and sentiment from the Paper Pretties set, Sweets For the Sweet, with Chocolate Chip craft ink and then embossed it with Clear Detail EP. I colored the image in with my SU markers and then outlined it with my Cool Grey Copic(C3). The image was then layered with Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie, and Chocolate Chip. The colors were drawn from my Sweet Always DP from SU. I added some piercing and silver brads and then some Chocolate Organdy. Since I felt like a cheater, hehe, I did heat the organdy to give it a crinkled look...so cool right(I KNOW, I am a total cheater but seriously...). I followed today's SCS sketch challenge for my card too, go me!! LOL!!! Well, that is it for me for now!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Be sure to check out the Prettie Girls to see what they have been up to!!

Welcome to the HOP!!
I gotta tell you, whoever was the "inventor" of the blog hop is a GENIUS!! I think they are SO FUN, don't you? What's a blog hop you ask? Well, today's hop starts at Kim's, the MFT lady, blog. From there, she will link you to the next blog in the hop and each blog you hop to will link you to the next one and so on and so on. Along the way, you will get to see a TON of EYE candy using the soon to be released sets from My Favorite Things. So, if you are here, and you haven't been to Kim's blog, head there now!! Okay, you back?? GOOD!!
My card, or actually set of cards, was made using the Isabelle Paper Dolls set designed by the SUPER talented Stephanie Fizer. This set is SUPER cute and SO FUN!! I am sure you have seen some of the FABULOUS sets made by the other DT members, and I can't wait to make some with my nieces, but first, I wanted to make this set of invitations. I am having all my nieces, and my little cousin Mallory, come stay the night soon and we are going to have a mini Christmas party. I have already bought them matching Christmas PJ's, and we are going to go look at Christmas lights, make Paper Dolls, eat pizza and Christmas cookies( that we will make), and watch back to back DVDs of Hannah Montana(ugggh)!! Doesn't that sound like FUN!! Anyway, back to the cards!! I made them as simple as possible, mostly because I hate to mass produce, and the more involved they are, the more I dislike them. I stamped each Isabelle with Black Stazon on PTI white and colored each of them to look like my nieces( I even made them in their favorite colors...go me!!) The DP is all retired SU, and uses Real Red for Mallory, Apricot Appeal for Katelyn, Wild Wasabi for Madison, Lovely Lilac for Taylor, and Pretty in Pink for Samantha. I used my Fiskars cutter and scoring blade to make the score lines at the bottom, Bella Baubles, and some white organdy. The sentiment is from the MFT set Shower Time.

So, what do you think??? They are gonna be SO EXCITED!!! Now, I am not gonna lie....I usually dread these sleepovers, only because it is SO much noise all at once....but I love my girls and I can't wait to have them here!!
Well, that is it for me now!! For the next stop on the hop, head to the SUPER TALENTED, Lauren Meader's, blog!! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you at the release party tonight in the MFT member forum!! It starts at 9pm EST, so be there or be.....yep you guessed it!!
