Snow Wonderful

So, when I saw this weeks Inspiration Challenge, I REALLY tried not to go to far out in left field. I was gonna do something with the colors and pattern, but I ended up just using the snowman that THIS NECKLACE (from the Etsy store, Images Under Glass) made me think of. I used my new Verve Stamps set, Snow Wonderful(which is on sale right now...so if you have been looking, here ya go!!)!! It has been DAYS since I stamped, so I was starting to REALLY miss it!! I love my nephew, but man, he is a TIME SUCKER(basically he SUCKS up all my free time, LOL)!! I started with some paper that was left out on my table, cause it was there, and I love it, and I was too lazy to look for other stuff, heheh. I used Ruby Red, Garden Green and Baja Breeze to go along with it. The snowman was stamped with Black Stazon and then colored with my SU markers. I did add some Sakura Stardust Glitter pen to the scarf and band on the hat. The sentiment is from the Verve set, Snowflake Splendor. It was stamped and then punched out with my SU square punches. I followed Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketch except I just had my ribbon go around the little panel and I added the brads and snowflake. The snowflake was made with my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch and the brads are from SU, as well as the ribbon. I did run the white layer through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes folder just to give it a little more interest. Since I like this card well enough, I am off to mass produce about 9 more....awww, the joys of Christmas!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Just One More...

Here is the only other card you haven't seen that I made for the My Favorite Things release...and let me say, I am IN LOVE with this set!! I am out of town until tonight, but I wanted to have something posted so I pre-scheduled this card to show up...but never fear...I will be back and making Christmas cards like a WILD WOMAN this weekend!! I am thinking 10 of each design til I am done....we are running out of time people!!
Anyway, I used some Paper Studio DP to paper piece my purses from the new MFT set, Tote-ally Fantastic. The paper is from their Black and White stack and I picked it up at Hobby Lobby. This card measures 3x6, so it is short, but fabulous, LOL!! My ribbon is from SU, and the brads are from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts. The rest of the card is pretty simple, but if you have any questions, feel free to email me!! Thanks for stopping by and I will be back later with more goodies!!

Ways To Use Envelopes

I have to tell you that I am about the Worlds WORST at decorating envelopes. It really adds so much to your card, but if it isn't part of a package or hand delivered, I figure, why bother. As someone who works for the Post Office, I know what they come in looking like sometimes, so I don't see the point in wasting my time, right, RIGHT!! Well, when I saw today's Ways To Use it challenge over at SCS, I knew that I WANTED to decorate and envelope to go along with this super cute Snowbunny Flopsey card I made!! It is part of a package I am sending to my Secret Santa-ee, so I figure that she deserves the best!! First the details about the card, and then the envelope. For the card, I used Some Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, and this yummy Deja Views Flurries and Frost paper. It has to be my FAVORITE DP for Christmas..and I sure hope I can find some more!! My Snowbunny Flopsey, which was released by My Favorite Things last night, was stamped with Black Stazon ink on Whisper White and then colored in with my SU markers, blender pen, and Baja Breeze re-inker. I cut it our and layered it on a WW oval that had been cut out with my Nestabilities. I really wanted his big ol' ears to hang out of the oval....So FUN!! I did some piercing, added some white brads, a figure 8 spiral clip, and a bunch of yummy ribbon. All of my ribbon is from SU, EXCEPT for the wide Chocolate Grosgrain, which came from my pal Jody. For the envelope, I used some more of my DP, a piece of wide Baja Breeze grosgrain, and some SU buttons(part of the Button Bouquet Buttons and the Soft Subtle). I then stamped the snowflake from Baby It's Cold Outside(which is currently out of stock but will be back really soon) in Baja Breeze all over the envelope. For the ribbon, I cut a slit at the bottom and top of the envelope and threaded it through so it won't affect the way the envelope works.
So, is anyone else FREAKIN OUT that it is only 20ish days til Christmas??? I still don't have my Christmas cards all finished...YIKES!!! I have a feeling that no matter how much I HATE to mass produce...I am gonna have to!! I haven't even started shopping yet. And I don't think I have said it here yet, but I did get all my inside decorations up, but seriously, there are still pumpkin lights in my yard and some severely frozen mums, LOL!! I put the lights in my windows though, and hopefully, in between hunting sessions this weekend, I can con my DH and my BIL to help me get my yard done.....I have WAY to much stuff and it is a JOB!! We are talking mini spiral trees to line the walk and front of the house, candy cane lights for the sidewalk, 5 blow up decorations, 4 spiral trees, 3 deer, 2 sets of presents, and all the lights for the roof.......can you say.....OBSESSED with CHRISTMAS!!!LOL!!! At least I got my tree done, something I LOVE to do, but DREAD every year because I am so OCD it is just never good enough. I seriously spent 4hours putting it up and another hour since then moving stuff......I try not to look at it to often for fear I might see something else that needs moved...anyone else like this??
Well, that is it for me now....I am gonna leave you with a picture of my tree. It is the only decent one that I could get and it is STILL a little blurry. I will work on that!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Prettie Wednesday- Heat Gun

So, two weeks ago, Danille(dlounds), challenged all the Prettie Girls to make a card using our heat gun. It didn't matter how you used it, you just had to use it....grrrr. My heat gun and I don't get along very well. Okay, it isn't the heat guns fault, I am just lazy and I hate to emboss, LOL!!! I know there are lots of creative ways to use your heat gun, and I know I SHOULD of done something more inventive, but I didn't, ehehehe!! I stamped the image and sentiment from the Paper Pretties set, Sweets For the Sweet, with Chocolate Chip craft ink and then embossed it with Clear Detail EP. I colored the image in with my SU markers and then outlined it with my Cool Grey Copic(C3). The image was then layered with Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie, and Chocolate Chip. The colors were drawn from my Sweet Always DP from SU. I added some piercing and silver brads and then some Chocolate Organdy. Since I felt like a cheater, hehe, I did heat the organdy to give it a crinkled look...so cool right(I KNOW, I am a total cheater but seriously...). I followed today's SCS sketch challenge for my card too, go me!! LOL!!! Well, that is it for me for now!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Be sure to check out the Prettie Girls to see what they have been up to!!

Welcome to the HOP!!

I gotta tell you, whoever was the "inventor" of the blog hop is a GENIUS!! I think they are SO FUN, don't you? What's a blog hop you ask? Well, today's hop starts at Kim's, the MFT lady, blog. From there, she will link you to the next blog in the hop and each blog you hop to will link you to the next one and so on and so on. Along the way, you will get to see a TON of EYE candy using the soon to be released sets from My Favorite Things. So, if you are here, and you haven't been to Kim's blog, head there now!! Okay, you back?? GOOD!! My card, or actually set of cards, was made using the Isabelle Paper Dolls set designed by the SUPER talented Stephanie Fizer. This set is SUPER cute and SO FUN!! I am sure you have seen some of the FABULOUS sets made by the other DT members, and I can't wait to make some with my nieces, but first, I wanted to make this set of invitations. I am having all my nieces, and my little cousin Mallory, come stay the night soon and we are going to have a mini Christmas party. I have already bought them matching Christmas PJ's, and we are going to go look at Christmas lights, make Paper Dolls, eat pizza and Christmas cookies( that we will make), and watch back to back DVDs of Hannah Montana(ugggh)!! Doesn't that sound like FUN!! Anyway, back to the cards!! I made them as simple as possible, mostly because I hate to mass produce, and the more involved they are, the more I dislike them. I stamped each Isabelle with Black Stazon on PTI white and colored each of them to look like my nieces( I even made them in their favorite colors...go me!!) The DP is all retired SU, and uses Real Red for Mallory, Apricot Appeal for Katelyn, Wild Wasabi for Madison, Lovely Lilac for Taylor, and Pretty in Pink for Samantha. I used my Fiskars cutter and scoring blade to make the score lines at the bottom, Bella Baubles, and some white organdy. The sentiment is from the MFT set Shower Time.
So, what do you think??? They are gonna be SO EXCITED!!! Now, I am not gonna lie....I usually dread these sleepovers, only because it is SO much noise all at once....but I love my girls and I can't wait to have them here!!
Well, that is it for me now!! For the next stop on the hop, head to the SUPER TALENTED, Lauren Meader's, blog!! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you at the release party tonight in the MFT member forum!! It starts at 9pm EST, so be there or be.....yep you guessed it!!

Some Prettie News!!!

So, last night was the Stampin In Your Jammies party over at the Paper Pretties forum. We had a FABULOUS time, and did lots of talking, sharing, and made a few FUN announcements. First of all, I would like to congratulate the winner of the November Cutie Pie contest..Lee Murphy(luvlee)!! She made THIS super cute card with the Snowflake Kisses set that was re-released last night. Congrats girl..you are a ROCKSTAR!!
Second, my girl Christi Thorsen(cici510) got promoted to the Jr. Design Team...yaHOOOO!! We are getting ready to close our Design Team, but we HAD to keep her around. Christie and I have talked about it a lot, and we get too attached to our guest designers!!LOL!! We have a hard time letting go, and it was SUPER hard to only let a few stay and not all of them...I still miss the guests from the last two rounds..pitiful huh!! I was SUPER thrilled to see Christi make it in before the doors closed though..she is so sweet and SO talented!! Big Congrats girl!!
On the Paper Pretties blog, The Paper Clip, our super talented blog Diva, Jodi(kharmagirl), has posted this weeks Spotlight on Shopping post. She is spotlighting the stamp, Angel Wings. For the next week, Angel Wings will be discounted, so if you have been holding out, NOW'S your chance!!
Pheww, okay, I think I am done, LOL!! Onto what you REALLY come her for...the eye candy!! I made this card for one of the challenges at the PJ party last night. Charmaine challenged us to make a card using pink and blue. Well, I must have been temporarily INSANE because I used Regal Rose and Night of Navy....WOW...they look BRIGHT together, LOL!! I stamped my newly released Trim the Tree image on Whisper White paper and colored her in with my SU markers. I added a pink jewel to her ornament and pierced a border around the image. It is layered with my card colors(WOW). I then added two spiral clips with some silver ribbon on them and added my layered snowflake sentiment embellishment. The snowflake is from Hero Arts, and the layers were cut out with my SU punches. My sentiment was punched out with the word window punch, and then I added two silver brads to the ends. The Regal Rose layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Ornaments folder and them I added large silver brads to the corners. Well, that is it for me, yet again today!! Thanks for stopping by and have a Prettie Day!!

Home For Christmas-Color Challenge

When I first saw this set in the SU mini catalog, I wasn't sure if I even liked it. Then slowly but surely after seeing all the FABULOUS creations with it, I had to have it!! I decided when I saw today's Color Challenge over on SCS, that I would FINALLY get this set inky!! I started by stamping my image with Vanilla Craft Ink from SU then stamping the image again with Sahara Sand to give it the 3D effect. I layered it with Very Vanilla, Basic Black and then Vanilla again. I added some piercing, gold brads, gold spiral clips, and Vanilla taffeta. The base of the card uses the same colors, and I ran the Sahara Sand layer through my Cuttlebug with the houndstooth folder. I also used my Cuttlebug and Ribbon Slide Tag dies from Spellbinders to make the sentiment panel. I threaded some Black Organdy ribbon(retired SU) through it and tied it around. I added a piece of cream organdy and gold cord(both SU), did some more piercing and added a couple more gold brads. It image isn't as WOW as I would like it to be, but I am pleased with the outcome. Well, better get back to entertaining my nephew!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Day Two- Another MFTeaser for You!!

Welcome to day two of my MFTeasers!! Today I am featuring the new set, Snowbunny Flopsey, isn't he/she?? cute!! I just LOVE it!! My DH walked in the room while I was working with this set, and he usually doesn't comment on my stamping, but he took one look at this bunny and said " I love the big ears"...LOL!! So do I dear, so do I!! This set, along with two others, will be released Wednesday, December 3rd at 10:00pmEST. Be sure to join us in the MFT member forum for all the fun and chatter!! The release party starts at 9pmEST and will last until 10, when the sets will be released!!
Anywho...I decided since Flopsey was warming up with a nice hot cup of cocoa, why not make a hot chocolate holder for her?? I used a template that I got AGES ago(and if I could find one like it, I would totally link it) to make my cup. I cut it out of Night of Navy CS, then ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes folder. I then cut out my sentiment panel with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties. The sentiment was stamped with Black Stazon on Whisper White and then layered with Night of Navy and Baja Breeze. I covered the entire Whisper White panel with Versamark and then heat embossed it with some Irridescent Ice EP. After embossing, I punched two holes and threaded some yummy ribbon from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts through it and tied a bow. The silver snowflakes are some more embellishments I got from the craft department at Walmart, yayy!! The bunny was stamped and colored separately, cut out and then popped up. I added some large silver brads and it was done!! Isn't it cute!!
Be sure to check out all the other designers creations...this month, some of the MFT girls are taking some time off, so we have a special team of guest designers working with the new sets and they are AWESOME!! Be sure to leave them some love!!

Today's the Day!!

In just a couple of hours(less than 2, yayy), Paper Pretties will be having their Stampin In Your Jammies Partay and I am SUPER EXCITED!! Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have had to miss the last two so I have been missing all the fun, and fun is what they are having, let me tell you!! LOL!! Be sure to join us in the member forum to chat with the DT, play in the challenges, and be in on all the fun!! I made this card to show you one more look at the Snowflake Kisses set being re-released in RUBBAH tonight. Isn't it FABULOUS!! I love this cute little Sophia making a snow angel. I colored her with my SU markers and then used a glue pen and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to add some "frost" to the snow. The buttons on Sophias jacket are some that I found at Wal-mart(awesome!!). I layered the image with Green Galore, Garden Green and Ruby Red. The base is the same colors and some DP from the DCWV Christmas Stack. I used my paper piercer and white gel pen to make the stitching. The ribbon is retired white organdy from SU, and I used my SU punches to make the sentiment panel. That is it for me now..my sister kept my nephew home today due to the nasty cold we are both nursing, so I have been TRYING to get my Christmas decorations up. Now THAT is a full time job!! Thanks for stopping by, and we hope to see you at the party!!

MFteasers Start Today!!

My Favorite Things will be releasing THREE new sets on December 3rd at 10:30pm EST. Since I have seen them all, I can officially say that they are AWESOME!! LOL!! I had a SUPER hard time deciding which set to preview today, but I decided I would go with the very first card that I made. I made my card using the new set, Tote-ally Fantastic.......DOESN'T IT ROCK!! ACKKK!! Purses, and purses, and more purses...oh my..LOL!! I stamped my main image on Whisper White card stock as well as some Georgia Peach DSP from SU. I paper Pieced the background and her skirt, and then drew in a sidewalk line and created a sidewalk for me to walk my dog on(LOL). The rest of the image was colored with my SU markers and then layered with So Saffron, Regal Rose and Old Olive. For the rest of the card, I added some silver brads, silver spiral clip with white taffeta from SU on it, some So Saffron poly twill ribbon, and a bunch of paper piercing. The sentiment, which "toteally" ROCKS, was stamped directly on my Georgia Peach DSP. The So Saffron layer was run through the Cuttlebug with my Houndstooth embossing folder. Well, that is it for me now!! I will be back later with some more stamped goodness!! Be sure to check out this thread to see all the GOODIES from the other DT members!!
