Sunday's Featured Stamper

Happy Sunday!! I am running really behind today, so this is gonna be a quick post. I made this card for this weeks featured stamper challenge on SCS. This weeks stamper is YLM. I chose this card of hers to CASE and I changed the images, colors, added embellishments and I added a circle sentiment. I used my SU set A Little Birdie Told Me. I colored it in with my SU markers and aqua painter and cut it out with my Nestabilities. I had dug out these wire flowers for the ways to use it challenge this week, but never got to make a card, so I decided to put them on here. I am going to my sister's house today to help clean her house and get the nursery ready. She is on semi-bed rest, so she needs help. I have a feeling Jared is going to get here sooner than she thinks!! Have a great day!!

paper-Ballet Blue, Regal Rose, Whisper White, Imaginations DP
ink-Black Stazon

RAK from Pickletree

I received this awesome card in the mail today from Amy Sheffer(pickletree). I swear to you my hands were shaking when I saw the envelope!! What's funny is the fact that I was at work(at the PO), and was sorting the mail, and there it was!! How stinking exciting is that!! The card itself is so gorgeous, and I can't even tell you how lucky I feel to receive it!! It actually arrived at the perfect time. The sentiment on the front says"you're destined for greatness", and it is so funny that it came the day after Christie Ortman from Paper Pretties asked me to be her Design Team Coordinator!! How awesome is that!! It also came on my first day of work by myself, so that was super encouraging too!! Thank you so much Amy, you totally made my day!! Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Easily Enabled

Has it really been two days since I stamped anything??Wow, no wonder I am having withdrawals!! That last card for the MFT GD contest really took a lot out of me!! I had my first day on my own at work, and I barely slept I was so nervous(so now I am exhausted)!! Who knew that a simple 2 1/2hr shift could make you that nervous!!LOL!! I checked the inspiration challenge for today this morning before I left for work, and I have had this card in my head all day. I decided after I made it, that when I die they are going to write "easily enabled" under my name on my tombstone. I mean seriously, my whole life I have not been one to follow the crowd. I always do what I want, no matter what, but for some reason after seeing all of YOUR(yes I am pointing a finger and WAVING it at you) beautiful creations with these fabulous flowers from Michaels made me have to have them. What's worse is that I have never really been able to work with dew drops, but the last few orders that I have placed have had some on them. Oh well, I think it's worth it-translation- I LOVE this card!! It turned out just the way I planned, maybe even better and I couldn't be happier!! I embossed the branch from Artfully Asian on Bashful Blue with winter white EP and then colored in all the flowers and leaves with my white gel pen. After the gel pen dried, I colored over the top of the flowers and leaves with my markers. I did the gel pen first so that the true color showed up, and not the marker color mixed with the blue of the paper. I then layered it with white, Certainly Celery and Rose Red. I then took a piece of taffeta ribbon and a ribbon slide from the Stylized Silver hardware and tied my ribbon through it. The sentiment is a rub on from the SU Sellabration Love and Happiness rub ons and is framed with some more hardware. I added silver brads to all the corners too. The base is the same colors, minus the blue, and it was run through my Cuttlebug with the distressed stripes folder. I put a piece of blue satin ribbon around it that I got from a ribbon share with Jody(texasjodylynn). I then placed three white flowers from Michaels with some hydrangea Robin's Nest dew drops and it was done. That is it for me now. I have an AWESOME RAK to share and I hope to get to stamp some more!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!
stamps-Artfully Asian
paper- Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Rose Red
ink-Versamark
tools-oval punch, stylized hardware, rub ons, markers, white gel pen, white ep, white taffeta, blue ribbon, white confetti flowers, dew drops, Cuttlebug, distressed stripes folder

Oh Where, Oh Where....

has my mojo gone, oh where oh where can it beeeee!! This may have been the hardest card I have ever made in my LIFE!! I LOVE it, don't get me wrong, but I think by the time I got it done, I had every My Favorite Things set out on the table along with every black embellishment I could dig out!!! I made this card for the MFT guest designer challenge that was issued last night at the release party. The challenge was to use black paper and embellishments on your card. I used some white, and some black and white, but I think you get the point. I stamped this image early this morning to make some 3x3 cards for one of the other challenges from the party last night, but I just couldn't get inspired to do anything with it. I had already had both of my sheep stamped on watercolor paper with black Stazon when I started to "see" my card, that was almost 11hrs ago, and I am just now done!! I am pooped, so I am going to make this super quick. I colored the grass in with my Old Olive marker and aqua painter. The grass stamp is from the MFT set It's a Jungle Out There. I sponged in the sky with Bashful Blue. The sentiment(isn't it perfect) is from the Paper Pretties set Wade E. Bug. I wanted it to look like a thought bubble so I used my black brads to help create that . The sentiment was punched out with my SU oval punch and the black oval was cut out with my oval Nestabilities. It looked kinda plain, so I used my white gel pen to add some dots to the scallops. I put liquid applique all over both sheep and heated it to make it puffy. Then I stamped a separate sheep and cut out his head and popped it up to give it some dimension. The black strip was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder and then I used my corner rounder to make scallops. I added some black gingham ribbon and white brads and put that up on dimensionals. The SU Aida cloth background stamp was used to make the background. I added some photo corners and it was done. I really love this card, I just wish it hadn't caused me so much grief!! Wish me luck in the contest, there are always so many fabulous entries!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Great Swaps Girls Swaps

Hello again everyone!! Hope you all are having a great day!! This first card I wanted to share with you is one that I made for the Great Swaps Girls non A2 swap. You could make a card(using only SU supplies of course) of any size or shape, as long as it wasn't a standard(5 1/2x4 1/4) sized card. My card is 3x6 and it was made using my favorite stamp set, Bloomin' Beautiful. I know I am not alone here when I say that I am DYING for the new SU catalog. Every year I get so excited just thinking about all the new eye candy!! There is still a ton I want out of the current catalog, but hopefully none of it will retire. If so, I will have a lot of explaining to do when our mad money disappears!! I used Cameo Coral and Old Olive for this card. The strip down the middle is some Old Olive DSP. The edges of the main image are distressed and the sentiment is from Warm Words. What do you think?
stamps-Bloomin Beautiful, Warm Words
paper- Old Olive CS and DSP, Cameo Coral, and Whisper White
ink- Black Stazon
tools-silver brads, white taffeta, SU markers, edge distresser
This next card was made for another Great Swaps Girls Swap. It was an NVR swap, which meant we could use anything we wanted on the card. What kind of a Prettie Girl would I be if I didn't use one of my favorite Prettie images?? I stamped Cooper on watercolor paper and colored him in using my SU markers. The Dp is some Imagine That paper that I had leftover from my sisters shower decorations. The sentiment is from the retired SU set Riveting and was stamped twice, once in Ballet Blue, and then again in Pumpkin Pie. I punched both out and mounted them on Ballet Blue and Pumpkin Pie. The PP layer was cut out using the scallop punch then turned a little(while attached to another piece of paper) and cut again to make it "spiky" for lack of a better word. I added some Pumpkin Pie ribbon and silver brads and it was done. I sure hope they all it!! I have been meaning to post these cards for a week now, and I finally remembered to do it!! Yayyy me!!
stamps-Look Out World and Riveting(SU)
paper- Watercolor, Pumpkin Pie, Ballet Blue, Imagine That DP, and Whisper White
ink- Black Stazon
tools-SU markers, aqua painter, pumpkin striped ribbon, silver brads, circle punches, scallop punch
This last card I recieved in the mail today from Jennifer(lovetostamp6) over at Jennifer's Sweet Designs. Isn't it beautiful!! Thanks so much Jennifer, I love it!!
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Prettie Wednesday

Normally I don't get to include my Prettie Wednesday challenge card with the weekly sketch challenge, but since I am terribly behind, I did this week!! Two weeks ago Jana challenged us to make a baby card using Paper Pretties stamps. I have to tell you, I was stumped. I have racked my brain til there was nothing left and finally decided on this. It is the "implied" baby card- get it, "Made With Love"!!LOL!! I started by stamping my Luke and Lexi stamp from the Paper Pretties set Sealed With A Kiss. I then colored it in with my SU markers and blended it with my aqua painter. You can't see it from the photo, but I used my glitter pen to add some sparkle to her belt, hairband, pearls, and earrings. Then I used my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities to cut out the image and layer it with Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip. For my background, I used some more of my Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie paper. To keep to the sketch, I tied a Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon around the card and tied it in a knot. For the vertical piece, I used a scrap and just glued it around the card. The main image is up on pop dots and I added three ruby brads to the top and bottom of the card. For the sentiment, I used one of the many sayings from the Paper Pretties Made With Love set and I curved it on my block so that it would follow the curve of the circle. I always love it when people do that, but I never remember to try it myself and I was so proud of myself that I did tonight. Be sure to blurf around and see all the other Prettie Girls' work. So, you wanna play along? Good, we love it when you do, just leave a link to your card so that we can all see it!! Last week Jillian challenged us to make it new again by taking our oldest set and using it, yikes!! This week it is my turn to challenge the Prettie Girls and it is my first time to do so, yayy!! My challenge girls, should you chose to except it, is to make a card using BRIGHT colors, and of those colors, one of them must be orange!! Good luck girls!! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!!

Prettie Tuesday

Here is my card for today's color challenge over on SCS. Now I know I said I would be back with something pretty today, but Cooper says that he isn't pretty, maybe cute, but definitely not pretty!!LOL!!! So anyway, I stamped my Cooper on watercolor paper and colored him in using my ink pads, markers, aqua painter, silver pen, and Prismacolor cool gray marker. I paper pierced around the edges and then layered it with Real Red, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou. Cooper is available in the Paper Pretties store, and he and his sister Sophia look so good together. My sentiment actually says Look Out World, Here I Come, but I only wanted the first part of it, so I just colored what I wanted with my marker. I think this sentiment is awesome, because it could be used for a birthday, first day of school, graduation, you name it!! I then punched it out with my word window punch and layered it with other papers cut out with the word window punch and attached it with a red brad. I then popped the main image up on a piece of Blue Bayou DSP which was layered with Blue Bayou CS. The base of the card(which is 5 1/4 square) is Real Red, then layered with Soft Sky and Whisper White which I ran through my Cuttlebug with the Paisley folder. Since the folder doesn't cover the whole paper, and I am too OCD for the paisley not to match, I added a piece of wide red grosgrain and then added some other ribbons to match. Did you know that Paper Pretties has Gift Certificates now? No, well now you do!! Go and check it out!! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

MFT Monday

Hey Everyone!! I am back with my card for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge hosted in the members forum on SCS. The sketch challenge is hosted by Cindy Haffner, and is always amazing!! Speaking of MFT, have you seen the sneak peeks for this weeks release?? They are amazing, and I can't wait for the party!! You can find all the info about it here, including info about all their new things they are doing this month. All I can say is that I picked the wrong month to win the Guest Designer contest, but don't think I won't be playing this time!! My card was made using the mini set How Sweet It Is, and I just love this one. Most of the teasers I have seen, have had some sort of sweet in them, so when I went to do this sketch, I automatically thought of this set. The DP on this is some Cosmo Cricket Honey Pie paper, and I just LOVE IT!! The brads are from the stylized silver hardware from SU. I colored my main image in with my markers. It was stamped on some watercolor paper that I picked up at Walmart. I just happened to be in that section and thought I would try to find something that isn't so yellow. It isn't as good a quality as SU's, but definitely a better color. The flower is from Petaloo and the ribbon is from SU. Thanks for looking and have a great day!! I will be back tomorrow with something Prettie for you!!
stamps- How Sweet It Is
paper- Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Cosmo Cricket DP and watercolor paper

The Whole Enchilada

When I looked at today's Technique Lover's Challenge, I wasn't going to do it. The challenge was to make a set of 3x3 cards and a box for them to go in, or The Whole Enchilada. Now, I am not much on making boxes and sets of cards, and honestly, I have no idea why but my pal Jodi(kharmagirl) convinced me that I needed to give it a try, so I decided I would. I originally bought this set after seeing some of her fabulous creations, so I decided that I would use it to make my set. The box was made first using one of the patterns linked to the challenge. I decided that I wanted my box covered with DP, so I cut a piece the same size as my card stock and glued it on. I made the band using another piece of the Summer Picnic DP and then wrapped my ribbon around it. I stamped all my fruit in Real Red once and then in Wild Wasabi, and cut out the different pieces. I then covered my fruit with crystal effects to make it shiny. I tried to do a different layout and ribbon on each one, but I put silver brads on all of them, because you know I love my brads!! That is all for me for now. I am off to try to do the My Favorite Things sketch for today!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!
stamps-Tart & Tangy
paper- Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Summer Picnic DSP
ink- Wild Wasabi and Real Red

GSGC07 Another Sketch

It is my week to host the Great Swaps Girls challenge, and since I love a sketch challenge, that is what I decided to do. This is the sketch that I drew in my paint program. It is a little rough, but I bet you get the idea. If you would like to participate, just make a card using the sketch and post a comment with a link on the GSG blog. If you upload to SCS, use the keywords GSGC07. I still had the stuff from my Featured Stamper challenge card that I made out, so I decided to make my sketch card with it. I just love this Basic Grey paper that Jodi sent me!! My main image is from She's All That and is stamped in Brocade Blue. The flower is covered with some of the Basic Grey Cupcake paper too, and has a stylized silver brad in the center. I hope you like this sketch, and my card, and I hope you decide to play along!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!
