TSG161 Winged Things

You know when you start making a card...and you see it in your head...then you put it on paper and it isn't ANYTHING like what you expected it to be? Well, that happens to me very rarely, but tonight, this card took on a life of it's own. Maybe it's all the stuff going on in my "real life", but wow...how out of my element was THIS? Only two layers on the base? And would you LOOK at all that cutting? What in the world....LOL!!

My card is for this week's There She Goes challenge, to make a card using "Winged Things". It is There She Goes Again week, and this week we are featuring three older sets, all with wings....including the set I have used today(Bee Happy), Spread Your Wings, and Love Birds. All gorgeous sets, and PERFECT for making your creations SOAR!!

So, not much to tell about my card, so I will list the supplies!! I used the Bee Happy set, paired with some Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane paper, Black Licorice(MFT), Banana Split(Bazzill), and X-Press It Blending Card card stock. I stamped all my images in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored them with my Copics. I cut out three of the flowers, and all of the bees and popped them up. My brads are from Michael's, my spiral clip from Creative Express, and my Black Twill ribbon, and Lemondrop Twine are all from the Ribbon Carousel.

Speaking of the Ribbon Carousel, this card also works PERFECTLY for this week's challenge, Heavy Metal!! What card do I make that ISN'T covered with brads, right? LOL!!

Well, that is it for me for now! Be sure to check out both challenges, and I will see you back tomorrow night with this month's VIP hop from My Favorite Things!!!

I paired it with Orange Fizz(MFT), Wild Wasabi(SU), Candy Bar(Bazzill), and MME's Lime Twist Fly a Kite. My ribbon is Walnut Vintage Seam Binding from the Ribbon Carousel, spiral clips from Creative Express, and Michael's brads. I did add some glitter to my fairy, and some around Peter, but you can't really see it. I can NEVER get that to photograph well.

I know I have already said it once or a dozen times, but I am THRILLED to be one of this month's Guest Designers with Kraftin' Kimmie, and I get to participate in this month's peeks-AWESOME!!

Yesterday, the Krafty Girls showed you the new Thank You Trinkets set, and today, we are showing you Cheryl's new set, Lulu and Libby!! I just LOVE these knock-kneed little girls, and would you LOOK at her cutie patootie little sister?!!

I stamped my girlies on X-Press It Blending card, and then colored them with my Copics. To cut them out, I used the Oval Stax Die-namics from MFT, and then layered them with the Oval Dainty Doily Die-namics in Celery. My corner tabs were cut with the Photo Corners Die-namics-once with some MME Nostalgia paper, and once in Celery. I then layered them together, and used a brad in the center of them. My sentiment was stamped on a flag from the First Place Award Die-namics, and then added on with a spiral clip and some YUMMY Peach Fizz Seam Binding from the Ribbon Carousel. For the base of my card, I used Sweet Tooth, then Celery and Blush Blossom. I used more of the pretty paper, and some more ribbon and brads.

MFTWSC76 Thanks Bunches

Hey everyone, and happy Wednesday!! That means it is time for another Wednesday Stamp Club challenge from My Favorite Things! It's MY favorite sketch challenge!!

For my card today, I used the SUPER CUTE new Mouse in the House-Blessed Mouse set. I stamped her on X-Press It Blending card, and some MME Nostalgia paper. Her shirt and skirt were paper pieced, and then I colored the rest of her with my Copics(mouse: R20, T03, T01, T00; flowers and butterflies:YR02, YR01, YR21, YR20, YG93, YG91; basket: E31, E33).

The butterflies were stamped seprately, and colored with the same Copic colors mentioned before. I used my Copic Multiliner(0.05) to add the motion marks by their wings.

For my grass, I used the Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics and some Certainly Celery paper.

The sentiment panel was cut out using the First Place Award Die-namics, and them popped up. I added a spiral clip and Peach Fizz Seam Binding about it, and on the side of them main image. For my butterflies, I used more of the Nostalgia paper, and the Butterfly Die-namics.  I added Michael's brads to the butterflies, as well as the main panel. My other card stock colors are Blush Blossom and Banana Split(Bazzill).

For the inside, I used more of the same supplies.

Here are the Die-namics I used:

June Creative Challenge-Frame It

Hey Everyone!!Are you ready, because it is time for this month's Creative Challenge from My Favorite Things!!

Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we've been asked to Frame It! Be sure to check the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have put their MFT stamps and/or Die-namics dies to work to create a framed piece of art for you.

For my project today, I made this as a Get Well present for my boyfriend's daughter. She had major spine surgery today, and this is for her for when she gets home. :)

For my frame, I used a shadow box I bought at Michael's. It was in a 3pack for $19.99(on sale for $9.99-score!)!! I started by covering the back with Natural card stock. I cut it to size, and cut out the holes to adjust for the frame holders.

I then stamped my Pure Innocence You Color My World on X-Press It blending card, and then colored it with my Copics.

I then stamped my sentiment from the Clearly Sentimental about Art set.

I then cut out the entire panel, with room at the top for me to put one of the Artist Palette and Brush Die-namics at the top. The palette and brush were cut out of Natural card stock, and my paint splotches, along with the layering on the panel are: Red Hot, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop, Sour Apple, Night of Navy(SU), Grape Jelly, and Grapesicle. On the brush, I colored the bristles with my T7 Copic, and added some red to the tip with my R59.

My rainbow as cut out once from ALL the colors of card stock I mentioned before using the Rainbow Die-namics. My clouds were cut out of Sweet Tooth card stock with the Cloud Trio Die-namics.

I then cut out the letters to spell out art from the By The Letters Die-namics. I used Red Hot, Sour Apple, and Orange Fizz.

For a little extra interest, and because I had a LOT of leftover cuts from the  Artist Pallette and Brush Die-namics, I used all the brushes and ink spots to create a background.

To finish, I added buttons that I purchased at Hobby Lobby in a 1lb bag(Buttons Galore I believe), and added them to the edge of the frame.

Here are the Die-namics I have used:

Well, that is it for me for now! Coming (sort of)live from Riley's Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis, this is a very tired almost-step mom signing off! Have a great day, and be sure to check out the MFT Blog and see what the rest of my teammates have created for today!

My birds from the Delightful Day set were stamped three times a piece, twice on Snow White card stock, and once on the Hello Summer paper from Echo Park. I colored the body twice, cut one out and popped it up with dimensionals, and then cut just the wings out of the Echo Park paper, and popped those up. My sketch is this month's Sketch For You To Try.
