RCC26- Trick? Treat?

Hey everyone, it is time for another Ribbon Carousel Crew challenge!

This week's challenge is being hosted by Ashley, and it's a Halloween challenge. YAAAAY! I love Halloween, it's possibly my favorite holiday, and not just because it's semi-close to my birthday!

To play along, your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, to paintings! *** Just be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

After you have your entry made, be sure to come back to the Ribbon Carousel Blog, and add your card to the linky thingy!!

For my card tonight, I started by stamping my images from the Tiny Town set from My Favorite Things on X-Press It Blending card. I then cut them all to 1x1, and layered them with Black Licorice card stock. My sketch is this week's Sweet Sunday sketch....so fun! I used the Small Scalloped Border Die-namics, along with some Echo Park Happy Halloween paper. My brads are from Michael's. The ribbon I used is Black Net, and I also used some Black Licorice, and Green Apple Twine, all from the Ribbon Carousel.

For the inside, I used more of the same supplies, and a few more sentiments and images from this set.

Here is the Die-namics I used:

Well, that is it for me for now! Be sure to head on back to the Ribbon Carousel Blog to check out my other crew mates entries for this challenge!! Thanks and have a great day!!

My brads are from Michael's, and my ribbon is from the Black Collection. My other cardstock color is Marigold Morning.

For the inside, I used more paper and brads, and another sentiment from the set.

Here are the Die-namics I've used:

Well, that is it for me for now! Again, sorry for not posting regularly, but life sometimes gets in the way, ya know!! Hugs, and have a great day!

Crazy 4 Challenges-Holiday Heat Embossing.

Happy Saturday, long time no see!! I came to a point where I was mentally and physically EXHAUSTED, and I have pretty much slept non-stop, while not working, for the last three days. It felt great, but I was unable to get anything done...so here I am now!

Since it is Saturday, it is time for this week's Crazy 4 challenges challenge. This week's challenge is being sponsored by Outlines Rubber Stamp Company, and they were so SWEET and generous to send me this GORGEOUS snowman and sentiment to work with. The prize is a $25 credit to the Outlines store, so better play along!!

Now it is time for our challenge, Tammy is back to challenge us all this week. The holiday season is heating up! So our challenge today is to create something for an upcoming holiday and to incorporate heat embossing in your creation!

If you decide to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C109. Don't forget to come back here and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too.

For my card today, I started by stamping my image-Jolly, Happy Soul, with versamark, then embossed it with a black detail embossing powder. I forgot how MESSY that stuff could be, lol!! I then colored it with my Copics, and layered it with Grapesicle, Red Hot, and Wild Wasabi. My paper is from the Cosmo Cricket, Mitten Weather. I used the MFT Stacking Stars Die-namics, as well as, the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics, which was used for my sentiment-Merriest of...also embossed. My brads are from Michael's, and my ribbon is from SU.

Well, that is it for me for now! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day! Be sure to pop by and see what all the other Crazies have created!!

This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (October 17th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG125 so we can check out your beautiful work!

For my card tonight, I started by stamping the ribbon image from the World's Best Stamp Set on My Mind's Eye Fine& Dandy paper. I then cut it out with scissors, being sure to cut out what would be the inside of the ribbon loops. I then used the World's Best Die to cut out my white layer. I colored the inside part of the ribbon loops with my copics, then layered the two together. For the inside panel, I stamped it separately, and cut it out. I used the World's Best Die to cut out my paper flags, as well. My scallops were made using the Small Scalloped Die-namics. Linen Thread from SU was used for my flag rope, and held on by brads from Michael's. At the base of my card, I stamped the Boy sentiment repeatedly.

Well, that is it for me for now! Be sure to check out the There She Goes blog to see a list of other designers participating. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

October Creative Challenge

Hey Everyone!!!

In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're going to "be negative." Our designers will show you what you can do with the negative space after you cut out your Die-namics, or the other half of patterned paper, card stock or felt that is leftover when you're done with your Die-namics! Visit Kim's Blog to see exactly what we've been up to, you'll find a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge!

For my card tonight, I started by stamping my Pure Innocence- Have Hope set on X-Press It Blending card, and then colored her with my Copics. I cut her out after coloring her, and paper piecing her heart with some Authentique Uncommon paper. To create my Flourish effect, I cut the flourishes, using my Fancy Flourish Die-namics, out of my Authentique Uncommon paper. I then used the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics to cut out my sentiment panel. I then layered it on top of some Black Licorice card stock, except the sentiment. For the sentiment, I put a small white panel with my sentiment stamped on it. It is slightly popped up, but it is hard to tell in the photo. I used MFT Black Collection ribbon, and some Michael's brads, as well.

For the inside, I cut the main piece of the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics out of Black Licorice Cardstock, and then cut the smaller piece out of the center. I used the actual flourishes from the front of the card, and popped up the scalloped circle panel. Using the extra pieces, or in this case, the actual die cuts, on the inside of your card is a GREAT way to use those up, and it makes the card so much more personal.

Here are the Die-namics I used on my card.

Well, that is it for me for now! Be sure to head to Kim's blog to see a list of the other Designers participating today!! Thanks for stopping by!!
