Peace, Love, Literature....

Usually I post on Thursday's with my card for the My Favorite Things sketch...but I am keeping my nephew right now and just never got a chance to get a card done using it. So instead, I am going to show you a little something I made using my new FAVORITE stamp set, I {heart} Books!! I am an avid reader, and although I love a good story, I absolutely refuse to read the same book twice. My mom, sister, grandma, friends, can all read the same book over and over again, but if I have read it, I don't want to read it again. Strange, I know. Well, I am pretty fond of a certain few authors, and I keep running into books at different places and I am never sure if I have read them or not. My step mom has the same problem, and to keep herself from re-buying a book that she already owns, she now keeps a list in a notebook by author of exactly what books she has purchased so that she is sure to not buy them twice......GENIUS!!!
I mean seriously, that is brilliant if you ask me!! So, when I saw this month's new set, I KNEW that I had to make myself a notebook to do the very same in! I used some retired Washington Apple DSP, and paired it with Riding Hood Red, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie. I used my Cuttlebug and Oval nesties to cut out the sentiment and it's layers. My main image was stamped on an MFT Perfect Panel, and then I colored it with my Copics. My buttons are from Basic Grey. For the spirals at the top, I used SU ribbons to decorate them...cute, huh!!
Well, that is it for me now...better head to bed(I am writing this Wednesday night) because Jared will be up early and I don't want to be exhausted!! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
Don't forget, the new MFT Kits are on sale!!
Also, this week’s spotlight with My Favorite Things is on the pearlescent watercolors and Copic markers.
From 8/12 through 8/14 save 10% on pearlescent watercolors and/or purchase a set of 36 Copic Ciao markers for $125.00.

Happy Birthday Danielle!!

Hey everyone and WELCOME to Danielle's Birthday party blog hop!! By now you should have been through the whole hop..but if you are just now starting, head on back to Jodi's blog to get started!! If you are hear now, you should have come from Jacque's Blog!!
For today, which is normally Prettie Wednesday, we decided to still do Jacque's FABULOUS color challenge, but we all made our cards for our girl Danielle!! I chose to use Canadian Sophia for mine. I masked her flags and shirt so that I could add a D for Danielle on mine!! My image was colored with Copics after being stamped on an MFT perfect Panel. The sentiment is from the Bugs and Fishes set and was punched out with my SU oval punches. The DSP is from the Thoroughly Modern DSP pack, and I paired it with the challenge colors of Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede. All my accessories are from SU, except for the spiral clips.
Well that is it for me now, and you have reached the end of the hop!! So, now it is time to hop onto Danielle's blog and wish her a Happy Birthday!! Thanks!!
Here is the hop order, just incase you get lost!!

Here For You

I know I have said it here before, but I really dislike making sympathy cards. Basically, I don't make them until I need them. Well, unfortunately I need one, so I used my go to sympathy set from There She Goes, Here For You. It is simple and STUNNING and always makes the most gorgeous cards. I started with this past weekend's Weekend Sketch Challenge.

I stamped my main image with Memento Rich Cocoa on Gina K. White, and then cut it out using my Nestabilities and Cuttlebug. I then layered it with Chocolate Chip. The other card stock color is Baja Breeze, and my DP is from the retired Parisian Breeze pack from SU. My ribbons and brads are from SU as well. I did my normal piercing, and it was done. This card is pretty simple, but I think it is lovely!!
That is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!

Little Paper Shop challenges...

While I had all the stuff out working on my Featured Stamper card, I decided to finally play in last week's Little Paper Shop challenge. It was a sketch challenge, which you know I love! Coincidentally, I saw that this week's challenge is to make a card using your favorite color combo...and anything that has purple in it is my favorite combo, so I think this works!!
For my card today, I used the super cute new Beary Special Katie. I think she is adorable!! I paper pieced her dress with some Cottage Wall DSP, and then colored the rest of her with Copics. She was stamped on an MFT Perfect Panel though first. The base is more of the Cottage Wall DSP, which was paired with Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, and Old Olive. I used SU punches to do my sentiment panel, and the ribbon and brads are from SU as well.
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!!

FS131 SleepyInSeattle..

Hey everyone!! I am getting a late start today, but I finally got a card done for the Featured Stamper challenge. Today's FS is Joanne aka Sleepyinseattle. She has a fabulous blog and wonderful gallery full of yummy eye candy!! I finally settled on this card, and I changed the DP, colors, added layers and piercing, changed from pearls to buttons.

This card is also an SUO card, so yayy me!! The only thing that ISN'T SU is the Oval Nesties, but now with the addition of the ovals to the line of dies offered for the Big Shot, I think it is close enough!! My DSP is from the Cottage Wall pack, and I paired it with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. My White is Whisper White, and all the ribbons and the buttons are from SU. I colored the image with SU markers. I did outline it with my BG10 Copic though...oh well!

Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Katie!!

Today is my niece's fourth birthday, so if you get to see this...Happy Birthday Baby, I love you!! Katie is the youngest of my three niece's and is a PEACH!! She has the BEST personality and is so sweet she just oozes!!
LOVE HER!! Of course, I love all my other nieces just as much, but it isn't their birthday!! But I love you guys too!!
Okay, for today, I have a birthday gift card holder that I made using the super cute new Make A Wish Sophia from Paper Pretties.
She is just so dainty and pretty, I love her!! I stamped her on an MFT Perfect Panel and then colored her in with my Copics. I added some glitter to her wind over the candles to make it sparkle.
The base of this card is Melon Mambo, and I paired it with Orchid Opulence. The DP is from the Cottage Wall DSP pack. I used SU ribbons, and SU punches for my sentiment. I didn't have a birthday gift card to put in here, so I covered the one I did have with DP to make it match the card.
Well, that is it for me now...thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Little One

Hey everyone!! I was up late stamping due to a rather long nap with my super sweet nephew, so I decided to mark a few challenges off my list of things I want to do!! The first challenge was this past week's There She Goes challenge, to use whatever you have been hoarding...for me, it was this super cute My Mind's Eye paper. I have had it for awhile, but I have up until now refused to cut into it. The other was this Monday's Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I love a good sketch challenge, don't you? In fact, I have about 10 printed out that I keep planning to use, but haven't' got around to it...I need to stamp more apparently!!LOL
Anywho, I stamped my chick from the Tweeterpated set on Gina K. White. I then stamped the shell on some of my DP , and cut it out. The chick was colored with my Copics, and then I added the shell. I cut it, and it's Pretty In Pink, Cool Caribbean, and Pumpkin Pie layers out with my Cuttlebug and Circle nesties. My ribbon and brads are both from SU.

Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

My Favorite Sketch

Hey everyone!! It is Thursday, so it is time for another My Favorite Things sketch challenge. For this week's challenge, I used the super cute new Trick or Treat set that was released last night.
I stamped my main image from the new Trick or Treat set on an MFT Perfect Panel and then paper pieced the floor, drew in the faux panelling, and colored the rest with Copics. My DP is from an old SU Halloween Pack, and I paired it with Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black. All my ribbons are from SU, and my brads were purchased at Hobby Lobby. I used a white gel pen to do the faux stitching around the border. MY sentiment was punched out using the modern label punch from SU.
Be sure to check out the MFT website to see all the new release items!! Enjoy!

Prettie GLITTERY Wednesday

Well, today is Prettie Wednesday and we have a SUPAH sparkly challenge this week!! This week's challenge was given out by Jackie R, and she challenged us to make it shine, sparkly and glitter! Well, I don't know if you have noticed, but my blog isn't very sparkly...in fact, I hardly if ever use glitter. So basically, this was challenging to say the least. It doesn't help that as I was finishing my card I spilt my glitter all over my table and will now be covered in glitter for weeks to come! Oh well, right? Such is the life of a late night stamper, lol!!
Any who, my card was made using the SUPER cute new Stamp of the Month, Make a Wish Sophia from Paper Pretties. She was colored with Copics, and then I added glitter to her hat, waist, and shoes. The ribbon is from SU, and my glitter dots were bought from Gina K. The DP is part of the DCWV Glitter Stack. I paired it with Lavender Lace and Barely Banana card stock.

Well, that is it for me now! Be sure to check out the rest of the girls and see what they have been up to! And if you haven't already, be sure to check out the new releases, they are FABULOUS!!
