Sweet Peeks and Stampin' Out Alzheimer's

Hi and welcome to this month's Little Paper Shop release previews!! Today we have the SUPER cute new set, Sweet. It is full of super cute images that are sure to give you a tooth ache!! Before I get into the details of my card, here is some VERY IMPORTANT info!!!

"Jen Tapler and Susanna Boyd have been hard at work organizing "Stamping Out Alzheimer's": an amazing event that you won't want to miss!! For a mere $5 donation you will have access to exclusive challenges and fun prizes from numerous different companies. And the best part..... 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Alzheimer's Association!

Little Paper Shop is hosting a sketch challenge on the Stampin' out Alzheimer's forum and would love for you to join us. At the end of the event we will be drawing one name from all the entries to win 4 - 4x6 stamp sets. That's over $60 in value! But the only way to enter is on the Stampin' out Alzheimer's forum! Hope to see you there!"
This is the sketch that we are hosting, but to be able to win, you have to donate and join the forum!! Personally, I can't think of one person I know that hasn't been directly affected by this disease so it is DEFINITELY for a good cause!! I decided to use this sketch for my peek today!! I started by stamping my cupcake on a piece of Gina K. White paper. I then colored it with my Copic markers and cut it out using my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties. The main image is layered with Riding Hood Red. The DP's are both from SU...the Ballet Blue is from the Muirfield DSP and the other is from the Riding Hood Red pack. I added some ribbon on spiral clips, both from SU, and a few brads. The sentiment was stamped and then punched out using my SU oval punches. As always, I did a bunch of piercing around the edges. The other color on this card, besides Riding Hood Red and Ballet Blue, is Summer Sun.
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go around and see what the other LPS girls have been up too!!

Give Thanks...

Sometimes I get so caught up in all the drama that surrounds my life, and trust me...there is a TON of it right now, that I forget to be thankful for what I do have. I have my health, 3 beautiful nieces and one adorable nephew, great friends, great bosses, and a room full of stamps....what more could a girl ask for?? I think that is why this is my new favorite Sophia. She is sweet and simple and reminds us to say thanks....a reminder I need more than once a day. This card was made for one of the Paper Pretties release party challenges from last month. Charmaine provided us with this gorgeous sketch and I thought it would work perfect with my favorite little girl!! I stamped her on Gina K. White with Memento Tuxedo Black. I then colored her in with my Copics and cut her out with my Cuttlebug and Nesties. I stamped the image twice so that I could make the flower out of the circle. I layered it with Bravo Burgundy. I chose my complementary colors with my SU color wheel....so don't judge, lol!! The ribbon and DP are both from SU(Parisian Summer DSP).
Give Thanks is June's Stamp of the Month, so if you are a subscriber, she will be sent to you within the month before she is released to the public. For more info on the Stamp of the Month Club...check this out!!

Prettie Wednesday- Jodi's Crazy Color Challenge

Well, it isn't CRAZY like yesterday's SCS challenge, but it is crazy none the less!! In honor of fellow Prettie Girl, Danielle's new Fat Cat stamp line(sold by Paper Pretties), Jodi chose Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and Apricot Appeal. In HIND SIGHT, I would have chosen a different image, but I kinda like the funkiness of it. I used my sassy Hola Chica and stamped her on an MFT Perfect Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored her in using my Copics. She was layered with the challenge colors and then I did some paper piercing. The base uses some Apricot Appeal Prints paper as well as some Good Morning Sunshine. All the ribbons, brads, and the punches for the sentiment are from SU. Wanna play along? Just make a card using this color combo and leave a link on one of the Prettie Girl's posts. While you are at it, be sure to blurf around and see what the other girls have cooked up!!
That is it for me now, thanks for stopping by!!

Fill Your Jar HOP!!

Hello and welcome to this month's Mid-Month blog hop for My Favorite Things!!! Today's hop started at Kim's Blog, so if you haven't been there yet, go to her blog to get started!! You should be arriving at my blog via Michele's!!
This month we are releasing two new sets, and we think "We'll Change the Way You Gift"!! They are two new label sets that are just too cute!! As part of the "hop" this month, Kim sent us all a jar and challenged us to fill it. I had this idea from the start, but wasn't sure if it would work. When I was in school, my teacher had a jar that sat on her desk full of stickers. If you did good in class all week and never got your name on the board, you got to pick a sticker. Now, stickers don't seem like much to me now, but kids still love them....at least my nieces do!! So, for my jar, I decided to buy stickers and fill it full. Teachers do so much for their kids, and I know for a fact that around here, you aren't provided with enough supplies or budget to do special things for your class. Mostly everything is bought out of their own pockets. So, I thought that this would make the PERFECT gift for any kids teacher. I bought 12- 84cent packages of stickers from Walmart, but you can find them cheaper other places I am sure. I then cut the sheets apart so that the images would be separate(unless they were very small). After they were cut up, they only filled about half the jar, but I tried not to go over $15 on the whole project( $10 for the stickers, the jars are 4 for $12-so $3, and then about another $2 for paper and ribbon). For the "belly band", I stamped the stack of books image repeatedly with Memento Tuxedo Black on a strip of Gina K. White. I then colored it in with my Copics. It was then layered with Ballet Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Riding Hood Red CS. The chalkboard image was stamped on Gina K. White, as well as the teacher sentiment. I then colored it in with my Copics. The stack of books and two rulers were stamped separately and then added on. For the top of the jar, I put a piece of Riding Hood Red ribbon around the lid rim. I then used my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties to cut the Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Ballet Blue, and Gina K. White layers on the top. I stamped my sentiment on the white, but I left it blank since I am probably going to give this away. I added the books and rulers separately. To finish, I decided to make a matching card. I used the same colors, but I did use some large pewter brads from Creative Express. Well, that is it for me now, the next stop on the hop is Carole's blog. I can't wait to see what she has cooked up for you all!!

Prettie Friday...errr Saturday!!

So, yesterday was supposed to be my day to share another Paper Pretties card with you, but I had so much going on blog, that I decided it would be better showcased today!! My card was made for our very own Christie's, aka Prettie Mama, birthday. Instead of having our normal hop, we invited everyone to her "party" and without her knowing we changed one of the party challenges to "make a birthday card for Christie". I think she liked it, and we all sure had fun!! For my card, I used the new Canadian Sophia and my favorite Washington Apple DSP. The girl was stamped on Gina K. White and then colored in with my Copics. I covered the flags in her hands with some "banners" that said Happy Birthday!! The sentiment is from the Bugs and Fishes set from Paper Pretties as well. All my accessories are from SU(except the spiral clips which came from AC Moore online), as well as the oval punches used to create her banners!! The colors on this card are Riding Hood Red and Bashful Blue. That is it for me now, be sure to check out the Paper Clip for all the Paper Pretties happenings and to see Danielle's challenge for this week!!

Dollar Find Friday- Socks

Every Friday, the There She Goes Trendsetters have what we call Dollar Find Friday. Basically, it is a tutorial of some sort using an item we have found for a dollar and There She Goes stamps. I am TERRIBLE at altered items and thinking out of the box, so I really had to STRETCH myself for this one!! While walking around the only "dollar" store we have in my town, the Dollar General(which has hardly ANYTHING for a dollar anymore), I happened across a pair of socks and thought....hmm. They are only a dollar, why not try it, right??!! So today I bring you my very first Dollar Find Friday tutorial, Stamping on Socks.

Step 1: Obviously besides purchasing the socks is to gather your materials.

Step 2: Turn your sock INSIDE out so that you are stamping on the part of the cuff that folds over. I also put a piece of cardboard or something else inside, so that your markers don't seep through to the other side.

Step 3: Stamp your image, or images with a water resistant ink. For mine, I used the Flowers of Happiness set from There She Goes. Stazon probably works the best, but I did have success with the Memento ink as long as you heat set it!! After stamping your image, color it in with your Copic markers or other fabric markers. I then sewed on my button(from MFT), but you could also do a bow or something along those lines.

Step 4: Heat set your socks by either placing them in the dryer for a few minutes. I even recommend letting them dry overnight and washing them before wearing!! I plan on hand washing mine, but if you want to wash yours in the washer, I would turn them to where the design is inside!!

Here is some news from TSG!!
Challenges:
Every Friday, TSG will post a new challenge on the There She Goes forum! The challenges will change from week to week and there is no deadline so feel free to play in any of the challenges at any time :)
This week's challenge is an awesome one that you won't want to miss! You can find out all of the details HERE.

Friday Night Chats-
The Friday fun doesn't stop at the challenges! There will also be a Friday night chat on the forum from 7-9 both Eastern and Pacific time. That way, it will be easier for everyone to join in on the fun. I will post the Chat Thread Friday mornings and feel free to post throughout the day :) I have such a great time chatting with you guys at the Release Parties that I thought it was a shame to only do it once a month. So come introduce yourself and get ready to meet new friends and have some fun!! You can find today's chat thread on the TSG Forum HERE!

Well, that is it for me for now, thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Little Paper Shop Challenge

Every month the girls on the Little Paper Shop Design Team issue a challenge to each other that is to be posted on the 15th. This month, Silvia challenged us to make a 3D or altered item. Since this is my SECOND one for today...ya, I KNOW, I tried to keep it simple!! I decided to do a notebook for my niece Madison to draw in. Every time she is at my house, she has to use one of mine, and since they were all made for me from other people, it hurts me to let her use them...lol! I started with a regular composition notebook and covered it with Delicate Dots DSP from SU. I have a ton of this, so don't be surprised if you see a lot of it!! I then added some SU ribbons, both were part of the Sellabration Ribbon bundle. I then added a panel to the front using my Little Friend Digital image. It was colored with my copics and then layered with So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. I then added some Basic Grey buttons and it was done!! The pen just has a piece of DSP rolled up in it so that it looks like it matches...how cool am I, LOL!!

Wanna play along, just be sure to get your entry done by May 24th and uploaded to the SCS or PCP gallery using the LPSC16 keyword. Since 3D projects are a bit harder and this falls on a Friday, there will be NO LPS Monday challenge on the 18th. A prize will be given of TWO free digital images so be sure to play along!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

My Favorite Sketch with Birthday Flopsey

This week's My Favorite Things sketch was provided by Cindy, and it is simple but awesome!! I had to make my card a little longer than she called for to fit all my stuff in, but I am LOVING this card!! I stamped my Birthday Flopsey on an MFT Perfect Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored him in with my Copic. I then cut him out and carefully trimmed around his ear for an out of the box look. I then layered it with Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip. The DP is from the SU Sweet Always pack, and all the ribbons and brads are from SU as well. The sentiment was punched out with my SU square punches. Wanna play along? Just upload your card using this sketch by Wednesday, May 20th. Be sure to use the keyword MFTSC81 when uploading to SCS. All entries will be in the running for a $5 store gift certificate. Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Prettie Wednesday- Favorite Color Shades

Two week's ago, my fellow Prettie Girl, Jackie R, challenged us to make a card using our favorite color. We were to pick our favorite and then use a shad lighter and a shade darker. I love purple the most, but I wasn't really in the mood for purple tonight, and everything I made was horrible, so I decided to go with my backup color, Pink. I LOVE pink, cause I am a true girly girl, so I chose a Red(Riding Hood Red) and a light pink(Pink Pirouette) as my colors. The main image is from the Paper Pretties set, Soakin Up The Sun. I stamped Sophia on an MFT Perfect Panel and then colored her in with my Copics. I then cut her out and layered her with my colors. The DSP is part of the Bella Rose collection and all of the accessories are from SU. I followed Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try for this card...I love a good sketch ya know!!LOL!!
Well, it was short and sweet, but that is all for me for now!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! Don't forget to check out what the other Pretties have been up too!! Also, tomorrow, Danielle will be posting a new Prettie Weekly Challenge, so you won't want to miss that!! Thanks again!!

You Make My Heart Sing...

Isn't that just the cutest saying?? I love this new set from There She Goes, and all the sentiments are so cute and clever, I just love them!! My card today is for last Monday's Mojo Monday Sketch. I started by stamping my tree from the TSG set Happy Day on Gina K. White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then stamped it on another paper, colored both trees with my Copics, and then cut out some of the leaves to layer on the first image. The bird was then stamped and colored as well. My DP is from the SU Delicate Dots DSP, which was a Sellabration freebie. I added a bunch of piercing, and some ribbon and brads from SU. The Spiral clip is from Creative Express. Well, that is it for me now, thanks for stopping by!!
