Holiday Additions Hop

Hi and welcome to this month's There She Goes release blog hop!! Today's hop features the new Home Sweet Home Holiday Additions set. It works PERFECTLY with the new Home Sweet Home set from last month. The hop started at Dawn's blog, and if you haven't been there yet, you need to go there to get started. If you are back here, you should have come from our fearless leader, Jessica's blog.

I was gonna go for Christmas, but decided to go for fall!! I stamped the cornucopia image on an MFT perfect panel and colored it with my Copics. The DP is from the Apple Cider DSP pack from SU(retired), and I paired it with Chocolate Chip and Really Rust. The ribbons are all from SU, and the spiral clip is from Joanne's. I did some piercing, and it was done!! I also used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge from today...yep, I procrastinate!!
Well, that is it for me for now!! I have included the blog hop list below so you don't get lost!! Have fun!!

More Verve Sketches

This month's Verve release is now available and the new sets are STUNNERS to say the least!! When Julee asked me to GuestDiva, I knew they would be, but WOW!! Today I am in a huge hurry, but I didn't want to leave my blog unattended for yet another day, so here is another card I made for the release. It was for the second Verve Release Sketch(vsoct09b).
I used the gorgeous new Star of Wonder set. This was a fairly simple card to make too, which I am kinda starting to love now that my stamping time has taken a direct hit on my list of things to do everyday. I started by stamping the sentiment with Sahara Sand ink on a piece of Gina K. White. I then stamped some of the stars over it with Bordering Blue ink that had been stamped off once. The DP is from Heidi Grace and has so much texture to it...all the white dots are fuzzy-LOVE IT!! The ribbons are from SU, as well as the brads, and my spiral clips are from Joanne's. I did some piercing, and it was done.
Be sure to check out the Verve website where Julee has the new releases on sale, as well as all fall and winter sets, until November 15th or while supplies last.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Believe Blog Hop

Welcome to the Verve Believe Blog Hop. If you’ve just happened across my blog, you’ll want to start back at the beginning (http://poeticartistry.blogspot.com/) and hop your way along. Today we’re hopping for the Cure, sharing projects from a new set Verve just released called Believe. This set was designed in honor of breast cancer awareness and Verve is donating $10 from the sale of every Believe set to the Susan G Komen For the Cure foundation. We believe that we can make a difference. We believe that each day should be celebrated, each moment cherished and that every little thing we can do in the fight to find a cure matters.
For my card today, I decided to combine the Verve release sketch A with this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge. I started by stamping my stems in Memento Tuxedo Black then adding the flowers. The two pink flowers were stamped directly on the panel, the one red was actually stamped, colored, and cut out separately. To make it more interesting, I decided to go out of the box with my flowers, and I am so glad I did!! The DP is retired SU Bella Rose and I paired it with Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette. The white was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. I then added some pink May Arts ribbon, and some SU Riding Hood Red taffeta. My brads are from SU, and I used the scalloped oval punch for my sentiment.

Well, thanks for hopping by! Since I am the last stop on the hop, here is a link to the Verve Store so that you can get shopping PRONTO!! Oh, and we’ve got a special gift hidden along our hop for one lucky commenter, so if you see something you really love, give a little shout out and you just might win a $30 gift certificate to Verve!

Holly Jolly Peek!!

I am THRILLED to be posting this card today...why you ask? Well, because it is my first OFFICIAL peek as a Verve Guest Diva!!! Yayyy me!!! If you missed the announcement, you can find it here!! Seriously, when Julee asked, I was so excited I think I bounced off the walls for an hour...I'm sure my Dad thought I had lost my mind!!LOL!!

Today we are peeking two new sets, Holly Jolly and Christmas in the Air. For my peek, I chose to use my new FAVORITE holiday set, Holly Jolly. I am in LOVE with all the different ornaments in this set and I LOVE that you can mix them up!! For my card, I stamped the ornament on an MFT perfect panel and then colored it with my Copics. I then stamped the holly leaf separately, colored, and then cut it out. My DP is from SU, but it is retired. I paired it with Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, and Old Olive. I used some of the retired Ribbon Originals from SU, and some SU brads. My spiral clip is of course from Joanne's. I also used one of this month's Verve Release Challenge Sketches. This is sketch C, and I am LOVING all the others as well!! There are five in all and you have until Friday night at 6pm EST to get them turned in to be eligible to win the entire release!! For more details, check out this thread in the Verve Member Forum on SCS.

Crazy 4 Challenges- Week 7

Hey everyone!! I can't believe I forgot to post this last night, so I am posting it now!! I am supposed to be napping before my friends take me out tonight for my birthday, but I wanted to get this posted before I lay down!! This is my card for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge. This week's challenge is a FABULOUS sketch, and you know how I love those!!

I used the super cute Too Cute To Spook set from MFT. The girl was stamped twice, her dress was paper pieced, then she was cut out and popped up. The tree was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and then layered with Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Basic Black. My DP is from Bo Bunny. I used googlie eyes on the trees and in the corners, and embellished it with some YUMMY MFT Plaid ribbon. I couldn't figure out where to put a sentiment, so I left it off.
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Fairy Sweet Birthday Sketch

Wow, long time no see my blogging friends!! No, I didn't fall off the face of the earth, but my mojo sure did!! I am still NOT adjusting to my new lifestyle very well, and I am ashamed to say that I am so out of practice in the whole "work" department, that when I do get home, all I want to do is relax and sleep!! It will all get better soon, I just have to make it!!
For my card today, I used the AWESOME sketch challenge posted by my bestie, Jodi!! It is this week's There She Goes challenge on the TSG Blog. Jodi is this week's Featured Trendsetter, so head on over to the TSG blog to see her challenge, her weekly trend, her dollar find Friday project, and to get to know her a little better!! For my card, I stamped the mushroom village from the Fairy Good Day set on an MFT Perfect Panel and colored it in with my Copics. I then layered it with Cool Caribbean, Regal Rose, and Pumpkin Pie. The DP is from the My Mind's Eye. The brads and ribbon are all from SU. I made this card not only for the challenge, but also for my niece's birthday party tomorrow.
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by and for not giving up on me yet...lol!

For today, I don't have a swing card, but I do have one that I made for this month's release that I LUV!! It was made using the SUPAH cute new Amanda Baird set, A Balanced Holiday. I am LOVING this image!! I colored it with Copics after stamping it on an MFT Perfect Panel. The DP is from DCWV and I paired it with Wild Wasabi, Real Red, and Pretty in Pink. It's Saturday, so it is time for another Crazy 4 Challenges challenge over on the C4C blog. This week's challenge was to make a Thanksgiving themed or thankful card. I chose to go with Thanksgiving!! I used my Whipper Snapper Give Thanks set.
The image was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and then colored in with Copics. I also used Taylor's sketch from this week. The DP is from the Hawaiian Papaya DSP and my cardstock is Really Rust and Chocolate Chip. All accessories are from SU, except the spiral clips.

Dollar Find Friday!!

Today is my last day as the spotlighted Trendsetter over on the There She Goes blog and to end my week of FUN, I am hosting today's Dollar Find Friday post!! For today, I really went pretty simple...but if you haven't noticed, I'm not much of an altered item girl!! Due to my new financial situation, I have decided that making gifts for holidays and birthdays is going to be the most cost effective thing for me, so with that in mind I decided to alter a composition notebook for my niece Taylor. I already have Madison's done, and now Taylor's.....two down, a TON to go!!

Anywho, you can purchase the composition notebooks at the Dollar Store for a dollar..nice huh! I used Rich Razzleberry paper and cut out a pieced to cover the spine, and some Razzleberry Lemonade DSP to cover the front and back covers. To get an accurate size, I usually trace around the notebook and then cut it out...for some reason my ruler and I do NOT get along!! I added some Rich Razzleberry ribbon along with some white satin from May Arts. The glitter dots are from Gina K. Designs. For my image, I stamped my fairy from the There She Goes set, Fairy Good Day, on an MFT Perfect Panel and then colored it in with my Copics. I then layered it with RR and Gina K. White. I added some Sakura glitter pen to the flowers, star, tights, and her belt to make it sparkly. Taylor's name was stamped with RR ink using the TSG A-Z and 1,2,3 set.

That is it for me now, thanks for stopping by!!

I Love Sketches and Ribbon!!!

Today's sketch at SCS was PERFECT for me, so I had to play along!! It allowed me to use my FAVORITE There She Goes set, Bloom...yayyy!! Since it is my week in the spotlight over at the There She Goes blog, I posted today's TREND, which for me is kinda obvious....RIBBON, duh!! I also included spiral clips in an attempt to get everyone to BELIEVE that they are the coolest thing ever, but we will see if my obsession catches on, LOL!! Me personally? I can barely finish a card without it having to have ribbon and a spiral clip or two attached to it!! I am pretty partial to my brads as well, but I can live without them...ribbon, I just can't!!
For my card, I used one of the flowers from Bloom and stamped it on an MFT Perfect Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black. I then colored it in with my Copics and layered it with Pink Pirouette, Bravo Burgundy and Mellow Moss. My DP is from the retired Parisian Summer DSP from SU. All my ribbons on the clips are from SU, but my pink is from May Arts...it is so YUMMY!! I added a bunch of piercing and SU brads and it was done!!

That is it for me now, thanks for stopping by!! Don't forget to play along with my Monochromatic challenge from Monday at the TSG blog!! You will be entered to win a $5 Gift Certificate from There She Goes!! WAHOO!!
