I started my card with Cindy's Dare To Get Dirty sketch in mind,(you must be a fan club member to view this link, so get signed up if you haven't already!!), and this week's Prettie Challenge. I added the details at the bottom!! I stamped the pool and duck floaty on Gina K. White, and colored them in with my Copics. I then cut them both out. I decided to add the pool, and lean the floaty up against it...cute huh! After coloring them, and adding them to my main circle panel(Gina K. White, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, and Tempting Turquoise), I did some piercing and then covered them both in Crystal Effects to make them shiny. I used SU punches for my sentiment panel. The DP is from the Pink Flamingo pack from SU. My Ribbon is also SU, brads are from Hobby Lobby, and the clip is from Joanne's.
ETA: I totally lifted this from Daniellen's blog so if it sounds like dejavus, it is, lol!!

This week's challenge was provided by Frances, doesn't she just rock??!! This is also another sample that I made for my Smooch Tutorial..if you are interested or curious about these paints, check it out!! I started by stamping my monster, from the Stephanie Fizer Hooga Booga set, on an MFT Perfect Panel. I then colored her body with my Copics. Her arms and legs were colored with Taffy Smooch Ink. Here face was stamped separately, colored with Copics, then added to the main image. I added some Siren Smooch Paint for her checks. I did a little piercing, and then layered it with Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, and Rose Red. The DP is from the retired SU Cutie Pie pack. I used my Eyelet Border Punch from Su for the edge. The brads are all from Su, the spiral clip is from Joanne's, and my ribbon is from SU and the MFT Spring Ribbon Nest. To decorate the plain pink twill ribbon, I added some hearts using my Smooch paints. For more details on how I did that, check out my tutorial. My sentiment was created using all SU punches. I ran the white panel in the background through the Cuttlebug with my Swiss Dots Folder.

Prettie Wednesday- A Favorite Embellie- or Four, lol!

So, two week's ago Jodi challenged all the Prettie Girls to make a card using their favorite embellishment. Me being an equal opportunity embellishment lover, I couldn't pick just one, so I used four, LOL!! I also, after some smooth talking from the Pretties, decided that we could start peeking the new sets today instead of tomorrow so you get to see the AMAZING new set, Everyday Picnic too!! YAHOO!! Here are all the release details, and then we will get to the goods!!

On Saturday, August 1st Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party!! The party starts at 8pm EST and will last until 10pm. We will be having three challenges, so be sure to come and play along!! Besides the challenges, chatter, and all around fun, we will also be releasing two new sets, Aloha Sophia to the public, and introducing our new Stamp Of The Month. Sneak peeks start on Wednesday July 29th!! Hope to see you there!!
Still here? Good!! Here is a look at the new Everyday Picnic set...isn't it FABULOUS!! It is this main image, and a few FABU sentiments that are PERFECT for many occasions! I had so much fun with this image. It was colored with Copics, then I added Crystal Effects to the wine glasses and bottle to make them shiny. The DP is from the Thoroughly Modern DSP and was paired with the new Soft Suede and Rose Red. The white is from Gina K. All the ribbons are from SU, the sentiment was punched out with an SU punch, and the brads are SU as well. I did a ton of piercing, and the spiral clip is from Joannes....see I told you, I used ALL my favorite embellies, lol!!
Well, that is it for me now!! Be sure to check out the other Pretties, listed in my sidebar, to see what they have in store for you....me, I can't WAIT!!

SMOOCHing with MFT

Hey everyone!! Hope you all are having a good day/night, whatever your case may be!! My card today is one that I made using this past Saturday's Sketch For You To Try. It is also one of my samples for this week's How'd They Do That tutorial for MFT!! This week's tutorial is all about the new Smooch paints...well new to me!! Seriously, if you haven't tried these, you need to check them out!! My card features the new Bubble Bunny stamp from MFT. I colored just his ears and cheeks with my Copics, and paper pieced the tub with some of the Spring Collection paper from MFT. I used the Moonlight Smooch paints on the bubbles to make them shimmer and shine! I also used the spring buttons. The ribbon is from the Royalty Ribbon collection from MFT. My cardstock is from SU, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink.
Well, that is it for me now!! Be sure to check out my tutorial!!

Bella Wings

Hello everyone, Happy Tuesday!! Here is a card I made using last Monday's Mojo Sketch and the new There She Goes set, Spread Your Wings. The DSP is from the retired SU Bella Rose DSP pack, and all three colors of cardstock are also recently retired..Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Riding Hood Red. What can I say, I am having trouble letting go!! My ribbon is from SU, and the spiral clip came from Joanne's. I colored my butterfly with Copics, and cut it out. The circle and it's layers were made with my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties.

Little Paper Shop Monday Challenge

I was looking in my Google reader at the HUNDREDS of posts that I haven't had a chance to look at, much less comment on, and I came across today's Little Paper Shop Blog challenge on Cindy's blog...yayyy! Yayyy, that I found it early so I could play, but not so much yay to what it was....a color challenge-Brilliant Blue, Pixie Pink, Real Red.....huh?? So seriously, I HATE the Bold Brights. I don't know what happened, when I first started stamping I LOVED them, and now I rarely if ever use them, and never, unless forced, do I use more than one at a time. Being a good sport, I decided to try it, but I gotta tell ya, I could just barely make myself use the Pixie Pink. I did color her bows and shoes pink, and there is a little bit in the DP(ok, I think it is Pink Passion-work with me). I stamped my Katie Cupcake on an MFT Perfect Panel and then colored her with my Copics. I also paper pieced her dress with some VERY retired SU paper. She was cut out and embossed with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties, and her layer is Real Red-which was cut the same way. My ribbon is from SU, and the buttons are also from SU(Playground).
Well, that is it for me now, thanks for stopping by!!

I then colored it with Copics. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Gina K. White and then cut it out using my Labels 4 Nesties and Cuttlebug. The DP is from the new SU pack, Cottage Wall. I used my Top Note die from SU to cut it and it's layer out. The layer is Orchid Opulence, and the card base is Rich Razzleberry. Dare To Get Dirty!!

I don't know if you have been playing along, but it is Dare To Get Dirty time at SCS!! The fun started yesterday, when Jen kicked everything off with a fabulous challenge!! These challenges are for fan club members, so if you aren't already a member, now's your chance to join, and join in the fun!! I was honored that fellow DD/DDA member, Deb Saaranen(DeborahLynneS) asked if I would like to make a sample for her challenge. If you can't tell by my card, her challenge was all about texture, and there is a TON of it on my card!! My main image is Angel Sophia from Paper Pretties. She was stamped on watercolor paper and then watercolored using my SU reinkers and an aquapainter. I cut her out and added her to my SU Whisper White oval. It was then layered with Not Quite Navy. The wings have a touch of glitter on them from my Sakura Stardust glitter pen, and the trim on her dress was done with Liquid Applique. The DP is from Heidi Grace, and has a ton of texture to it as well. The White layer on the back was run through my Cuttlebug with the snowflakes folder. All my ribbons are retired SU, the brads are from Hobby Lobby, and my sentiment is from the retired SU Season's Greetings(I think).
Well, that is it for me now, be sure to check out the challenges and play along!! Have fun!!

The DP is all from the Good Morning Sunshine DP pack from SU(now retired), and was also paired with Pacific Point and Summer Sun. I added Joann's spiral clips with SU ribbons on them. I also used Hobby Lobby silver brads. The sentiment was punched out with my SU word window punch.

My Favorite Things Sketch

It's Thursday, so it is time for another My Favorite Things sketch to be announced. I am LOVING this week's sketch, and as soon as I saw it I HAD to get to work. This week's sketch was provided by Cindy, who you know just rocks!! I started by stamping my Cupcake Flopsey on and MFT Perfect Panel. I then colored him in with my Copics and cut it out using my Oval Nesties and Cuttlebug. I then decided to color another Flopsey, cut out just the top half of him(from his cupcake up), and then added it onto the original Flopsey. That allowed me to make my cupcake, which was paper pieced with some My Mind's Eye DP, to hang over the DP panel. The colors of CS are Pumpkin Pie and Cool Caribbean. All my ribbons are from SU, and the brads are as well. All punches used for my sentiment panel are from SU too, as well as the scalloped edge at the bottom. Isn't it cute?? I was sorta proud afterwards, especially with my bow!!
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!!

It's Jessica's Birthday, woot woot!!

Today is my good friend, and fellow Prettie Girl-Jessica Diedrich's birthday, and you KNOW we pretties LOVE our birthday hops, so of course we had to have one today to celebrate our girl Jessica, LOVINGLY known as NJ(if you want to know, she may tell you)!! The Hop started at Christie's Blog, so you need to go there to get started!! For her party today, I of course had to use Pink and Butterflies...cause they ARE her favorite!! I started by stamping my Flutterby Sophia on an MFT Perfect Panel. I then colored it in with my Copics, and layered it with Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, and Old Olive. The butterfly was cut out separately and then added on. I added some white brads, ribbon from SU, and used my SU oval punches to do my sentiment. The sentiment is ACTUALLY from Jessica's very own set recently released by The Greeting Farm. The DP is from the Razzleberry Lemonade pack from SU.
Well, that is it for me now...now it is time to hop on, so head on over to Julie's blog!!

Prettie Wednesday- My Sketch

ETA: I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all my fellow Prettie Girls for their surprise hop for me today!!! If you didn't get to see it, go to Christie's blog!! I really needed this today too! The swelling set in yesterday, and last night was pretty rough. I am trying to take it easy today, so far so good. Thanks for all the well wishes girls, you are the best!!

So, two weeks ago I challenged my Prettie Girls to make a card using a sketch I had drawn up. I loved my sketch so much, you may be seeing a lot of it!! Basically it is one that I use as my go to sketch, which I think we all have!! For my card, I decided to make a masculine birthday card, I don't know about you, but I am a girlie girl. I NEVER think about making masculine cards until I need them, so it is kinda nice to be ahead for a change!! I started by stamping my Luke image from the Paper Pretties set, Right on Par. I stamped it on an MFT Perfect Panel and then colored him with my Copics. His shirt was paper pieced with a piece of Prestwick DSP(retired SU). I then cut him out and embossed him with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties. The layer is Garden Green, and the othe color on the card is Brocade Blue. My sentiment was punched out with the new modern label punch. I added Brocade Blue wide grosgrain from SU , white brads from Hobby Lobby, and a spiral clip from Joann's. The Blue layer was embossed with my Argyle Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Well, that is it for me now!! I am so excited because the next Paper Pretties release is coming up and the new sets are TO DIE FOR!! The peeks will start a week from today, so stay tuned!! While you are at it though, blurf around and check out what the other girls have been up to!!

There She Goes Weekly Challenge

Did you know that There She Goes has weekly challenges? Yep, they do!! They are just for fun, but fun they DEFINITELY are!! This week's challenge is brought to you in part by Holly. We are going to have an inspiration beach party! The website Touch Of Class has lots of gorgeous stuff to oogle and this week we are going to take pieces from their tropical artas inspiration for a card/project. Please link directly to your project in this thread so we can all check out your work and if you upload to an online gallery, use the keyword TSG12.
For my card, I chose this piece as my inspiration. It inspired my colors, style of flower, and layout. My colors got a little brighter than this, but the general orangish feel is there. I also mimicked the blocking in the back with my DP's. My colors are Groovy Guava, Certainly Celery and Tangerine Tango. The brads are from Hobby Lobby and all the ribbons are from SU. The main image was stamped on an MFT Perfect Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Copics. All the layers have piercing. I did use a white gel pen to add something to the flowers. I used the Bloom set from TSG, unfortunately it is out of stock, but will be back in a few weeks....trust me, when it comes back, I will DEFINITELY let you know. It is by far and away the most gorgeous flower set EVER in my opinion.

And don't forget about the sale going on at the There She Goes website! Enter the promo code july09 in the code box located in your shopping cart and you will receive 15% off your entire order! This sale is going on through this Saturday.

Here is a card I put together using the new Feelin Fruity set from MFT, as well as the Stamp A Sweet Impression sketch from this past week. I started by stamping my cherries twice, and coloring them with Copics. I then cut out just the boy cherry and popped him up. They were both covered with Crystal Effects. The colors on my card are Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Basic Black. I used some retired Rockabilly DSP as well. My ribbon is from MFT, except the Kiwi which is from SU. I used Spiral Clips and Brads that I got at Joann's. My sentiment was cut out with my ribbon slide dies from Spellbinders.
Well, as you are reading this, I am probably at the dentist or recovering from my surgery. Hopefully all went well!! See you soon! Thanks for stopping by!!

Little Paper Shop-Jena Rain

I was up late(probably nerves) and saw this sketch on my friend Jessica's blog, so I decided I would play long(it is for the Little Paper Shop challenge). It was a fabulous sketch, drawn up by one of my favorite sketch artists, Cindy!! I used the super cute digital stamp, Jena Rain. I printed her out, heat set her, and then colored her with my Copics. She was cut out and embossed using my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties. The colors are Rose Red, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery. The DP is from the retired Cutie Pie DSP. I added spiral clips with SU Grosgrain ribbons on them in all my CS colors. The sentiment was punched out with all SU punches. The sentiment is from the Take Time set.
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!!

FS128 For You

Happy Sunday to you all!! Hope you are having a great day. As I am typing this, I am making plans with my mom to go see the new Harry Potter movie.....yayyy!! I need a little distraction before the big day tomorrow. Thank you to all of you for your support and advice. I am going to Walmart tonight to get some Frozen Peas to use as an ice pack...that seems to be the general consensus of things I MUST have. I am still dreading it, and I probably won't sleep tonight, but it must happen so, I am going to suck it up and just do it!! I think I can, I think I can......

My card today is another SUO, YAYYY!! I decided to play in today's Featured Stamper challenge, and it was a totally new gallery for me. Today's FS is Dianne(minnidr), and her gallery is amazing. I chose this card of her's to CASE. I changed a few things, as per the rules. I changed the amount of layers, eliminated the stamping on the base and added DP, added brads, used an oval for the sentiment, changed the ribbon, and added piercing. My colors are Apricot Appeal, Sage Shadow, and Basic Black. The DSP is the new Nouveau Chic. My image from One of a Kind was stamped three times-once on Whisper White with Sage Shadow, once with Basic Black, and once on Sage Shadow with Basic Black. I colored the Apricot layer with my SU markers(Pumpkin Pie and Apricot Appeal), and popped it up. The middle part of the Sage layer was cut out, and then I punched a hole in the center with my 1/2in circle punch. The brads and ribbon are all from SU. I don't know about you, but I think it is about time they FINALLY made some black grosgrain...took them long enough!!

Well, that is it for me now!! I need to go get ready to go!! Have a great day!!

Uggghhhh....

If you only knew how long this card took me to make, and then to have it photograph so poorly is REALLY making me mad!! I have to admit, my mojo is on hold right now, because my mind is on more important, less pleasant things. If you are interested, I will post about that AFTER the details on my card from you know where!!
I made this card, for two hours...grrr, for today's Inspiration challenge and yesterday's Cupcake Sketch. I started by stamping my flowers from Eastern Blooms twice with Bermuda Bay, and once with Certainly Celery. I then cut them out and added buttons from the SU Sherbet Collection. I tied some hemp twine through them, cause Jody says you aren't allowed to have nekkid buttons, lol! I did a bunch of piercing, and added some silver brads from SU to the DP panel(Thoroughly Modern from SU), and the main panel. The ribbons are both SU as well. I stamped my sentiment with Bermuda Bay, and punched it out with my SU Oval punches.

Still here? Okay, I am having oral surgery on Monday, and although everyone tells me it isn't a big deal, it is to me. I am TERRIFIED. I have had a lifelong fear of dentists, and I am being put to sleep for my surgery, so I am just FREAKING out. I will be on a soft food/liquid diet for a few days to a week, which will be wonderful for my diet if I do it right, but hard at the same time. I am excited, however, at the thought of being able to eat without pain.....it has been awhile, and I am ready for that to be over with. Take it from me, if you feel a problem starting, get it taken care of before it gets too bad. I let my wisdom teeth come all the way in, and they have caused MAJOR issues in my mouth. I knew the whole time that I needed to see a dentist, but my fear held me back. Now, 5 years later, I am having to have a major procedure done where they will have to put me to sleep. To say I am scared to death would be an understatement.
Well, that is it for me now! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Seriously, I don't know about any of you, but I am SICK of rain!! I know it is great for the farmers, which I am surrounded by so that I am thankful for that...but come on!! I can't remember the last weekend we had without rain. I guess I shouldn't complain though. So far, it has been a pretty mild summer here in S. IL., with the exception of a week of VERY hot temps, KNOCK ON WOOD!!
For my card today, I decided to use the Rainy Day Friends set from Paper Pretties. It is now available in rubber, which means I need to get my order in!! I love clear stamps, but if I can have rubber..that is the way I go!! I don't know if it is because that is what I started with, and love, or what, but I still love them. What's funny is the fact that it is WAY easier to stamp with clear stamps, and they take up less space, but I just love the smell of new rubber!! Anywho, I stamped my Sophia from the Rainy Day Friends set on an MFT Perfect Panel, and then colored her in with my Copics. She was then cut out and embossed with my Cuttlebug. The colors on this card are So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. the DSP is from the Delicate Dots pack from SU. I stamped my sentiment directly on my DP with memento Tuxedo Black, and then added the brads from Hobby Lobby to the bottom and top corners. The ribbons are all from SU, and the spiral clip is from Joann's. I used a large white grommet from SU to put my ribbon through. Isn't it cute??
Well, that is it for me now!!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Hey Lady SFYTT

So, when I saw this weekend's Sketch For You to Try on Jen's blog, I knew what set I wanted to use with it immediately!! I have used this set in a few weeks, so I had been anxious to get it inky!! I started by stamping my chick from She's A Lady, from There She Goes, on an MFT Perfect Panel, as well as the bags. They were both colored in with Copics. I used my Cuttlebug and Circle Nesties to make the shopping bag panel. The images are layered with Cameo Coral, Baja Breeze, and Kiwi Kiss. The DSP is from the Walk in the Park pack. My ribbons are both from SU as well, but the brads are from Hobby Lobby and the spiral clip is from Joann's. I did a bunch of piercing on this card too!! I used my SU oval punches to do my sentiment.
By the way, There she goes will be having a sale until the next stamp release. From today July 16th through July 25th you can receive 15% off of your entire purchase at the There She Goes website by entering the coupon code july09 in your shopping cart prior to check out. Not only that but Jessica has also discounted the price of the TSG Double Stamp Scrubber! So, now you can get one for only $7.00! These prices are only good as supplies last :)
Well, that is it for me for now, thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

Pampered Bunny Sketch

Since it is Thursday, it is time for another My Favorite Sketch, and My Favorite Challenge to be announced. You know I LOVE a good challenge, and this weeks are no exception!! For my card, I used this week's MFT Sketch. It was drawn up by the INCREDIBLE Frances!! I started by stamping 3 of my bottles on an MFT Perfect Panel, then I colored them with my Copics. They were then popped up on my squares, made with my SU punches. The white is Gina K. White, and the base is Old Olive. I used my Sakura Stardust glitter pen to add some sparkle to the bubbles on the box. The DP is from the Green Tea DSP, and the colors are Baja Breeze, Old Olive, and Certainly Celery. My Ribbons are all from SU, and the brads are from Hobby Lobby. The clip came from Joann's.
Well, that is it for now!! I will be back later with a card for the MFC, hopefully!! Thanks for stopping by!

A Triple Challenge

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a BERRY good day, hehe! This is my card for today's My Favorite Things Challenge, to have texture on your card. This challenge runs until next Wednesday, along with the sketch challenge that I posted earlier. The winner will received a $10 in MFT Money(not good on Bubble Bin sets) for the MFT store, so you better get your entries in. For more details on how to enter, check out this thread in the MFT forum. I also made this card for yesterday's sketch and today's Ways To Use it challenge. The sketch is pretty self explanatory, but the way's to use it challenge was to use 2 of something on your card. So I used two strawberries from the new Feelin' Fruity set from MFT. It is SO CUTE!! I started by stamping my berry four times on an MFT perfect panel. I then colored two whole berries and just the stems on the other two. I cut out the whole berries, stems, and then connected the stems to the berries with a black brad. I added the seeds to the berries with a black marker. They were popped on an Gina K. White layer that had been cut out with my Cuttlebug, along with it's Old Olive layer. The berries were then covered with Crystal Effects to add dimension to them. My DP is from the SU Summer Picnic pack, and I paired it with Bashful Blue, Real Red, and Old Olive. All the ribbons are from SU, and the spiral clips and brads are from Joann's.
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!

Prettie Wednesday-Making a Background

So, I think I may have cheated on this one, but I don't know!! Two weeks ago, Danielle challenged us to make our own backgrounds using something around our house. I chose to do a technique my SU upline taught me years ago....unfortunately, I didn't remember ALL the important rules, but I do like the end result!! I started by taking my Dad's shaving cream and putting some on a paper plate, then I took my Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry reinkers and put a few drops of each on top of it. I then took a paintbrush and swirled the color in. I apparently went a little heavy on the Melon Mambo, but oh well!! You then take a piece of glossy cardstock and place it glossy side down on the cream. Pull it up, wipe off the excess(I used a paper towel) and viola...a swirly background. Now you are asking, where is it. Well, I made it, then put it on my card and proceeded to cover it all up, LOL!! It is the bright pink panel behind the main image. I think if you click on the picture you will be able to see it better, but no guarantees!!
For my main image, I stamped my Give Thanks Sophia from Paper Pretties on an MFT Perfect Panel and a piece of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. Her dress was paper pieced, and then I colored the whole image with my Copics. She is layered with Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry. All the ribbons are from SU and the brads are from Hobby Lobby, and the Spiral Clips are from Joann's.
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the other Prettie's have done for this challenge!!

Two Nights in a Row.....I KNOW!!

Yep, you heard me right, this is my SECOND night in a row using SU only!! Wahoo...I will say, I am missing my spiral clips a tad...wouldn't one look so cute up in the corner? I think so, but in an effort to keep it all SU, I left it off!! I even went as far as to color my twill tape with my Barely Banana marker to make it match..yep, I rule. It ended up really dark though, don't know why, but I still like it. My image was even colored with SU markers, which do NOT blend like my Copics, but I worked it out. I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the sprinkles on the cupcake and the flame...cute huh!! All images, punches, and embellishments are from SU. I made this card for today's Color Challenge-Barely Banana, Lavender Lace, and Basic Black. They also said we could use gray, but I just put some with my Cool Grey Copic under the image...I know, I cheated a little, but it NEEDED it, LOL!!
Well, that is it for me now!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Let's Get Hopping-Bubble Bunny

Hi, and welcome to this month's mid-month My Favorite Things release HOP!! The hop started at Kim's blog, so be sure to go there to get started. If you are here now, you should have come from Jody's fabulous blog. You back? Good!!
This month we have a SUPER cute new Bubble Bath Flopsey for you....isn't it SWEET!! I LOVE that we finally got Flopsey in a bath tub!! For my card, I started by stamping my image on an MFT Perfect Panel twice. I then colored one completely, and just the tub on the other. I then cut out just the tub, and then cut out the whole image using the out of the box technique. The second tub was then popped up on top of the other tub to give it some dimension. It was layered with Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink. I did some piercing, added crystal effects to the tub, and then added some Icicle stickles to the bubbles. The DP is from the Chocolate Kiss collection from MFT. I used SU oval punches to do my sentiment, and the Pretty in Pink layer was run through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. My brads are from Hobby Lobby and the ribbon is from SU.
Well, that is it for me now!! The next stop on the hop is Frances' blog!! Get to hopping and have fun!!
