KKS176 Embossing

Hey Kraftin' Kimmie fans, and welcome to this week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge! This week our hostess is challenging us to make a card using heat or dry embossing. I haven't used embossing since the LAST time someone challenged me to do embossing, so I was kind of excited to play along.

I started with this SUPER cute image from the Down on the Farm set, and paired it with some Lilybee Designs Harvest Market paper, Electric Red, Kraft, and Smooth White cardstock. I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder...I think it was called weathered? It's been SO long since I used it!! My image was colored with Copics on X-Press It blending card, and I drew the grass in with my Copics. I have to say, of all the grass I've drawn, I am MOST proud of this one!! To finish, I used some Hemp cord, Michael's brads, a spiral clip, and the Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

Chalkboard Memories Blog Hop Challenge

I had SO much fun with this AMAZING set that Tobi and Jessica have created.. I mean really, it's AWESOME!! I had a little fun playing around with some MFT Die-namics, and I tried to add a little visual interest by coloring the flower on the board, and mimicking the colors in my flower and flourish, and of course I even colored the pieced of chalk the color of the flower. :)

MFTWSC121-Happy Birthday

Hey everyone, and happy Wednesday!! That means it is time for another Wednesday Stamp Club challenge from My Favorite Things! It's MY favorite sketch challenge! 

For my card today, I used the SUPER cute new Cupcake Cutie from My Favorite Things new artist, Wendy Burns. She was stamped on X-Press It blending card, and then colored with my Copics. I then layered her with Gumdrop Green cardstock and paper pierced the edges. My paper is from the Simple Stories Childish Things paper pad, which I paired with Pink Lemonade, Berrylicious, Smooth White, and Gumdrop Green cardstock. The border I used is the Wonky Scalloped Border Die-namics, and I added brads, and Pink Lemonade Grosgrain. To finish, I used some Hemp Cord to attach my balloon, and I added a cloud from the Cloud Trio Die-namics.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from this set, and added another balloon. I connected the balloon and the sentiment using my Copic Multiliner pen.

April Creative Challenge

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. 

This month, we were challenged to do some scene building with MFT Stamps and Die-namics.  

Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today. 

For my project tonight, I used several Die-namics to create this super cute scene with the Pure Innocence Tree Swing stamp set...I love this little boy(who if you remember, I named Bob :) )

For my card, I started by stamping Bob and his puppy on X-Press It blending card, and then I colored them both with Copics. They were both cut out to add to my card. I used the Branch with Leaves Die-namics in Hot Fudge and Sour Apple cardstock to hang my Tree Swing off of. The other Die-namics I used to create my scene were the Sunshine Die-namics, which was cut out of Lemon Drop cardstock, Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics, which was cut out of Sour Apple cardstock, and the Cloud Trio Die-namics from Smooth White. 

For the inside, I used the Sheltering Tree and Leaf Trio Die-namics, and another saying from this set. The leaves and branch were cut out of Hot Fudge and Sour APple cardstock. I used the leftover pieces from my Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics, as well.

Shiver Me Timbers/Ship Happens Blog Hop Challenge

I’m sure it comes as NO surprise to all you loyal There She Goes fans, but we couldn’t go without creating a companion set to go along with this SUPER fun set!! Leave it to the Trendsetters to come up with so many FUNNY and AWESOME sentiments that one set just couldn’t hold them all.

TSG203-Wishing You Happiness

It seems I am always running a bit behind lately, but I didn't want another day to pas without posting the card I made featuring one of this month's There She Goes again sets, Blossom By Blossom. It was made for this week's Just Because challenge....to make a card for no specific reason, just because you can. :)

I had a ton of fun making this, and playing around with different diecuts, and my color combo. I used the MFT Fresh Cut Grass in Sour Apple cardstock for my grass, and accented it with some Michael's brads. My flower is an old MFT die, and I used some Kraft Grosgrain from MFT as well. The paper I used is from the MME Life of the Party paper pad, and I used Hot Fudge, Sour Apple, Cotton Candy, and Smooth White cardstock.

KKS175-Tic Tac Toe

For my card, I used the super cute new A Sunshiney Day set. The three items I had to use from the Tic Tac Toe board were eyelets, die cuts, and flowers. I wasn't sure I even owned eyelets any longer, but it turns out I do. I used the Flower and Leaf Trio Die-namics(die and flower) in Pink Lemonade to cut out my flowers, and used three old old old white SU eyelets. My ribbon is Sweet Tooth Grosgrain from MFT, and I used Michael's brads as well. The paper I used is from the Basic Grey Hey Girl paper pad, and I paired it with Hot Fudge, Orange Fizz, Pink Lemonade, and Smooth White cardstock all from MFT.

My other cardstock colors are Smooth White, Orange Fizz,  and Nightshift Blue. I used the First Place Award Die-namics for my sentiment from the Clearly Sentimental about Teaching set. Then I used some MME School Daze paper, along with the Scalloped Ribbon Die-namics, and the Jumbo Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics. My brads are from Michael's.

Release Rewind-Day Two

Hi, everyone! This month MFT is introducing a new event, Release Rewind, that will follow each month’s release. This gives the designers a great opportunity to use some products we might not have gotten around to using during the release. The amazing new MFT products that are available right HERE, right NOW in the MFT Boutique. To get all the details, be sure to stop by the MFT Blog. 

For my set of cards today, I used the gorgeous new Sweet Roses set from Lisa Johnson. I  started with a Smooth White cardstock base.

I then used either Pink Lemonade or Wild Cherry Cardstock and the new Roses and Leaves Die-namics to cut out my flowers, and Gumdrop Green to cut out my leaves. I stamped the line image of the flowers and leaves on the cardstock using either Wild Cherry, Pink Lemonade, and Gumdrop Green ink.

I used the new Mini Album Bracket Stax Die-namics and Black Licorice cardstock to cut out my cardstock panels at the top, and added either a Pink Lemonade or Wild Cherry grosgrain bow. My tags came from the new Blueprints 2 Die-namics, and I used Black Licorice ink and various colors of twine to stamp my sentiment, and accent them.

To finish, I added the new Open Simply Scallop Border Trio Die-namics to the bottom in Black Licorice.

My card insides used a sentiment from the Sweet Roses set in Black Licorice ink.

I then added a stamped flower from the Sweet Roses set in my ink colors over it to accent it.

My paper is from the MME Notable pad, and I also used Banana Split and Fossil cardstock. My embellishments are Blu Raspberry grosgrain, and Michael's brads.

For my  card today, I used the super cute new Mary Mary, Quite Contrary stamp set. She was stamped on X-Press It blending card, and then colored with my Copics. I layered her with Banana Split(Bazzil), Groovy Guava(SU), and Kraft from MFT. I used the same colors on the base, along with some Smooth White cardstock from MFT. My paper is from a MME paper pad, and I used the MFT Circle Stax Die-namics to cut it out. The flowers I have used are from the MFT Mini Rolled Rose Duo Die-namics, and I used my Banana Split and Groovy Guava cardstock. For my embellishments, I used White Twill Ribbon and Michael's brads.

I Pick You...Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks-Day Three

Welcome back to day three of our APRIL Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks!!! Today we are excited to share TWO supah cute new sets by artist Cheryl Alger!!! You'll recognize these characters from previous sets.....Lulu, Lexi and Lucas! And they are just as cute as can be, perfect for springtime!!! These new sets are.......A SUNSHINEY DAY and LET'S DISH THE DIRT!!

My card here uses the new Let's Dish Some Dirt set, which I paired with Wild Cherry, Nightshift Blue, and Smooth White cardstock from MFT, and Banana Split from Bazzil. The patterned paper i Used is from the Lilybee Designs Double Dutch paper pad. I embellished my card with Sweet Tooth Grosgrain from MFT, Michael's brads, a Nightshift Blue button from MFT, and some Hemp Cord.

MFTWSC119-Hi Honey

Hey everyone, and happy Wednesday!! That means it is time for another Wednesday Stamp Club challenge from My Favorite Things! It's MY favorite sketch challenge!

For my card today, I used the super cute new Doodle Garden-Sweet as Can Bee stamp set. I stamped her on X-Press It blending card, colored her with Copics, and then cut her out using my Oval Stax Die-namics. I used parts of the Blueprints 1 Die-namics to create my background using some Black Licorice Cardstock, Smooth White carstock, and Authentique paper. I embellished my card with Black Licorice Grosgrain and Michael's brads. I used the Party Banner Die-namics for my banner at the top. To finish, I used the Sentiment Strips Die-namics to create my sentiment flag.

Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks-Day 1

Guess what???!! It's time for Kraftin' Kimmie's APRIL 2013 RELEASE!!!!! 

We are kicking off the *New* APRIL Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps previews today and of course we're starting off with new TRINKETS!! Today we’d like to introduce you to an awesome new set of ….BFF TRINKETS!!

These circular sentiment stamps have been created and designed by the totally talented Krafty Girl, Nicole Aspinall!! They are made especially to fit in your 1 3/8ths and 1 ¾ inch punches, for quick and easy cutting!!! This month we are releasing the BFF Trinkets set which includes EIGHT trinkets in each set with four of each size and they come as both positive and negative images, so you can use your black or brown ink with the positive stamps and use your coloured inks with the negative ones!! You will get the set as a completely unmounted full sheet of deeply etched grey rubber. They're just PERFECT for all your friendly creations!!!

For my card today, I paired the SUPER cute new BFF Trinkets with the previously released set, Best Fur-iends. I stamped both my Trinket and my Lucas image on X-Press It blending card and then colored them with Copics. Lucas was then layered with Orange Fizz, Kraft, and Hot Fudge cardstock from MFT. I used some paper from the Basic Grey Hey You paper pad, Michael's brads, and Hemp cord from MFT.

April New Product Tour Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of this month's My Favorite Things New Product Tour posts, and if you haven't noticed we have changed the way we are doing things! Be sure to head to the MFT blog for all the important info you will need to participate in this month's release, and to find out how and what you can win....trust me, it's worth the trip!! 

 The new release products will be available at My Favorite Things on April 9th at 10 PM EST!!!

As with every New Product Tour, we are all focusing primarily on one set, and I am using the new Document It-Hello My Name Is set. I decided to make two different projects using this SUPER fun set, the first of which is a scrapbook page of my SUPER cute nephew, Mark. My page measures 6x6, and has a Black Licorice, Orange Fizz, Factory Green, and Smooth White base. I wanted a chance to show off the AWESOME new Orange Fizz and Factory Green inks that are being released this week! I am in LOVE with Factory Green...just sayin'. 

I stamped the main image from Hello My Name Is on Smooth White with Black Licorice, and added my sentiment and stars with Orange Fizz and Factory Green. I used my three cardstock colors, and the Stacking Star Die-namics to create my star embellishments. 

I then used the SUPER adorable new Bottom Line Alphabet Die-namics to  cut out Mark's name....LOVE the new alphabet. LOVE it! It was cut out using Factory Green and Orange Fizz cardstock.

My second project is a card I made using the Hello My Name Is set. I made it for a friend's wedding, and I LOVE it! I used Black Licorice, Electric Red, Pink Lemonade, and Smooth White cardstock along with Echo Park Love Story paper.

My image was stamped with Black Licorice ink, and I added the Happy with Electric Red. I used the new Border It-Mod Borders as an accent in Pink Lemonade. Black Licorice Grosgrain, Michael's brads, and Some hearts from the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics. They were cut out of Electric Red and Pink Lemonade cardstock.

I used the Open Simply Scallop Trio Die-namics to accent my paper, and added the LOVE on top of it with the Bottom Line Alphabet Die-namics.

For the inside, I used a sentiment from the Clearly Sentimental about Love set, and more of the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics hearts. My border is from the Open Simply Scallop  Trio Die-namics.
