March Creative Challenge-Die-namics Home Decor

Hey everyone, and welcome to this month's Creative Challenge from My Favorite Things. This month, Joanne has challenged us to make a home decor item using some of our WONDERFUL Die-namics.....I almost died when I saw it. You all know by now, that I don't "do" altered items, so I knew this was going to be hard. In fact, I think I told Joanne(numerous times) that she was trying to kill me, and I MAY have said something about getting an ulcer...so what, I'm a drama queen. Sue me!!! LOL!!

My project DID not kill me, and in fact, I actually kinda like what I made!! I started by getting a frame out of my stash....it's one I found on sale at Kohl's for 80% off...what a deal!! I then covered the back with some Garden Variety paper from Cosmo Cricket. I then added a strip of SU ribbon down the center. My main image is the super cute, Oh Baby à la mode, which I stamped on an X-Press It Blending Card, and then colored with my Copics. It was layered with Crushed Curry and Red Hot.

My sentiment is from the Clearly Sentimental About Parenting set, which I LOVE. I cut it out using the Polka Dot Frame Die-namics, and then hand cut a Red Hot layer around it. To add some interest to the frame, I used the Heart's a Plenty Die-namic, and Button Quartet Die-namic. I cut SEVERAL different pieces of the Garden Variety paper and the card stock colors mentioned above. I added some twine to the buttons, too.

Well, that is it for me for now!! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head to Kim's Blog to see a list of the other designers participating in today's challenge.

  4. Oh you're allright, Jessie! All of us could have told you you'd rise to the occasion and come up with something smashing cos all your work is smashing. :-) I personally, think its awesome! And in a way its better than a card cos people are less likely to throw it out in a month's time. And then if they do you can "smash" your smashing project over their head! lol
