Peace, Love, Literature....

Usually I post on Thursday's with my card for the My Favorite Things sketch...but I am keeping my nephew right now and just never got a chance to get a card done using it. So instead, I am going to show you a little something I made using my new FAVORITE stamp set, I {heart} Books!! I am an avid reader, and although I love a good story, I absolutely refuse to read the same book twice. My mom, sister, grandma, friends, can all read the same book over and over again, but if I have read it, I don't want to read it again. Strange, I know. Well, I am pretty fond of a certain few authors, and I keep running into books at different places and I am never sure if I have read them or not. My step mom has the same problem, and to keep herself from re-buying a book that she already owns, she now keeps a list in a notebook by author of exactly what books she has purchased so that she is sure to not buy them twice......GENIUS!!!
I mean seriously, that is brilliant if you ask me!! So, when I saw this month's new set, I KNEW that I had to make myself a notebook to do the very same in! I used some retired Washington Apple DSP, and paired it with Riding Hood Red, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie. I used my Cuttlebug and Oval nesties to cut out the sentiment and it's layers. My main image was stamped on an MFT Perfect Panel, and then I colored it with my Copics. My buttons are from Basic Grey. For the spirals at the top, I used SU ribbons to decorate them...cute, huh!!
Well, that is it for me now...better head to bed(I am writing this Wednesday night) because Jared will be up early and I don't want to be exhausted!! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
Don't forget, the new MFT Kits are on sale!!
Also, this week’s spotlight with My Favorite Things is on the pearlescent watercolors and Copic markers.

  4. this set is totally on my wish list since I love to read too! I'm with you, not a fan of re-reading a book. what a fun idea to keep track! I'm cheap when it comes to books though, I only buy when they're super cheap because I'd rather borrow from the library or a friend! I wish I'd gotten some of this paper before SU! retired it!

  6. Fabulous idea, Jessie! We are avid readers, too. My DH always seems to remember what we've read, but I have a tendency to forget. I just love all the buttons and ribbon you coordinated with that dp. This is so pretty!
