My Week Of FUNNNN!!

Okay ladies...I never got around to posting the picture of what I have for ya, but never fear, it is a good one!! I have decided, since this has been such a huge week for me that I will keep this open until midnight tonight, and then I am going to pick three winners, a grand prize and two runners up..one for each day of my wonderful week!! Stay tuned!!

ETA: So, I changed the title of my post, not because I am feeling better about my impending birthday, but because who can say it is a week of torture when you get to be a Dirty Girl!! OH, and by the way....I have now OFFICIALLY met all my stamping goals, wahooo!! Now to come up with some NEW goals!!

So, here lately, I haven't been feeling all that well. I get up in the mornings and it feels as if I have this HUGE weight on my chest. At first, I seriously thought I was sick, and then I realized the REAL reason why I was feeling this way......I turn 30 on Friday......GAGGGGGG!!!!
I have been complaining to anyone who will listen for WEEKS that I can't possibly be 30, that I would like to cancel my birthday due to lack of interest, but inevitably, it is coming. That's when my pal Jodi told me to think of the alternative. She told me to think of all the great things in my life, and not all the things I was worried about(you know, the economy, my inability to have kids, the fact that I haven't reached all my stamping goals) . So, why not celebrate in style, and share it with all of YOU!!!! So, in honor of this horrific occasion, and my upcoming anniversary, I am having a huge blog candy giveaway(my anniversary is the 16th, 4yrs..WOW!!)!! In order to be included in the give away, leave a comment on this post telling me about your most dreaded birthday(doesn't have to be your 30th, just your most dreaded up until this point in your life). The list of FABULOUS stuff you can win is still being compiled, but I will finish it tomorrow and take a picture for you all to see!! Thanks for playing and GOOD LUCK!!

  1. You could just be like me and remain at 29! I think this is my 3rd year at 29...who cares?! I'll be 29 from now on! I wouldn't want my husband to trade me in for a newer model just because I got old!!! :o)

  2. Hard to say what we the toughest, now...there were several in the late 20s that just "sounded" so much older than the previous year! 30, though? That year was the year I had my first child and STARTED stamping!! and this year turning 35 brought a new thril: designing my own stamps :) Sometimes I wish both of these things could happened sooner than later, but it's all part of a big Plan, you know, there is lots of time for you yet...having 5 years of experience under your belt and being on design teams/having a successful blog, I think you're doing great!! hugs

  3. I have never had a problem with age, I have always embraced each age with renewed hope and wonder.....LOL! I'm so full of __IT!! I actually had a few panic attacks about three days before I turned 40....but I got over it! So I'd have to say that 40 was a tiny bit hard for me!!! Especially every time my DD's would say "Mommy, I CAN'T BELIEVE you're 40"!!! Gotta love kids....

  4. My most dreaded thus far would have to have been my 21st. Most people look forward to it, throwing huge parties and having a great time. But I was 8 months pregnant and suffering the worlds worst all day sickness lol Ugh!
Enjoy your birthday! Remember, you're not a year older, just a year better!

  5. I'd have to say my worst year was turning 30 as well. Somewhere along the line I lost 'me'. I was a wife, a mother, living 500 miles away from my extended family and missing my vocation as a school teacher. I was talking to a friend one day about my feelings and her advice was to have an affair to help me out of the doldrums!!! LOL, I wouldn't have any idea HOW to do that. Needless to say, she's no longer a friend and after that kind of experience, I found turning 40 & 50 a snap!!! In the end, you're really only as old as you feel. I recently lost my mum at 92 years of age. We affectionately called her 'Peter Pan' 'cos she never really acted her age or wanted to grow up. My mum was and is my role model, she never let her age stop her from doing things she really wanted to do. If it helps you in any way, you can borrow my mum as your role model too!!! LOL. Forget your age (it's just a number), enjoy your life and have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    Hugz......

  6. My most dreaded is coming up. I am about to turn the big 4 0 come April. I dont feel like I should be 40. LOL seems like everything I am doing is late. I was almost 32 when I had my son, I will be graduating college at 41 I hope, etc. I just dont feel like I should be turning 40. I know how you feel believe me.

  7. My worst birthday was my ex-husband (please note ex) had my family at my apartment while we were dating. Well, the thing is...I didn't want to go home, because ONCE AGAIN, I had enough of this overbearing, controlling, manipulative (ooops, time to stop that). I had never given him a key to my apartment either. Needless to say, after work, I went to the local bar with a friend and she talked me to go home and change so we could go out. I think the surprise ended up being on my family, rather than myself. Plus, I hate surprises...and wouldn't it have been nice if he would of cleaned my apartment before having 30 people in my place. Ok...enough!!

    Congrats to you though.

  8. Ahhh, Jessie, I have never had a bad birthday! I think we are just so blessed to be able to have a birthday.....remember it is just a number lol!

  9. Oh silly Jessie! Don't let it weigh on you! :) I made it past 30 and I am ok. LOL HUGS and Happy Birthday a little early! Wear it as a badge of honor!

  10. Congrats on surviving your 20s! What a crazy decade that is! I have to say, I'm not nearly as bothered by my own birthdays as those of my parents; I don't want to think about them getting older. I hope you have a fabulous birthday and milk it for all it's worth :-)

  11. Awww honey don't sweat 30 - it's a great year!!! It's the year I got married and my life started!! :) Everything just gets better now - your 30's will be awesome!! Now I'm pushing 40 . . . now there's a big number! :)

  12. All the comments so far have been from 'young things' so I'll tell you that I'll be 50 next July. Despite all the 'training' I've tried to give him during our 25 years (in April next year) of marriage, my husband only bothers with my birthdays that end in 0 so I guess that's something good to look forward to lol! Also they do say that birthdays are good for you - as long as you're having a birthday each year you're still alive, so they can't be all bad, can they? Have a very happy birthday and enjoy your 30s.

  13. My most embarassing was my 50th - my daughter planned a surprise party, and my birthday was the weekend of our annual town celebration. My girlfriend and I went up the street to sit and watch the parade. All of a sudden, everyone around my started looking my way and giggling...here came my daughter and granddaughter in their convertible with a huge sign on each side that said "When you see _________, wish her happy 50th!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'd have to say my 40th was the most dreaded. 40! Just couldn't believe it was me. And I was really afraid someone would try to surprise me with something. Just wasn't up for a surprise and I let everyone know and it worked. Just a really nice day. So I suggest we all celebrate life and all it's blessings rather than dread a number.
Thanks for the chance at some candy.

  15. I wasn't too upset by thirty but 40 is going to make me go into a midlife crisis and buy every stamp set I see!!! =) see, I am trying to explain it early for DH LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh, my, this is hard! Looking back, I'll have to say my 56th birthday was the worse cuz I was feeling young & gorjus at 55-years old, then everything went downhill and I started being 'old'.....in body but not in my mind!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Well Jessie I can't say that any of my birthdays were dreaded... I have loved them all!! I am 53 and I just think they have all been fabulous!! I know - no blog candy for me!!!

  18. I'm not looking forward to my next birthday on March 30th. It's my 29th. I'll only be in my twenties for one more year! It's a big thing to think about!

    ReplyDelete
  19. LOL - you think 30 is bad ....LOL -I'm turning 40 - LOL!!! Tell me about it...I can't believe it either....Let's think this way - the 30's are the 20's and 40's are the 30's - sounds good to me - LOL!!!

Seriously - I think I love every age - I embrace it every year!!!

Have a great week!! Hugs ~S~

  20. Happy Birthday, Jessie! My most difficult birthday, without a doubt, was my 40th. I just couldn't wrap my mind around being "so old". I think I cried the entire day. Turns out my 40s have been waaaay better than my 30s. Wish I'd known. Anyway, age is just a number. I hope your birthday turns out to be a great one!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm giggling....30's not bad, I think when you hit 30 people look at you differently, not bad, but it's like they respect you more. It's a maturity thing...I think. My husband has a surprise 30th for me and I loved it!!! I'm pushing 40 soon...wow...now that is something to stess about ;) Hope you have a FABULOUS birthday girl...you have so much to look forward to in life! Best wishes!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I like to think of birthdays as just a number. I often feel that everybody around me (especially my kids!) are getting older, but I really feel the same on the inside - it's all in the way you choose to react. With that being said, turning 40 was "interesting"!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, I hear ya on the 30th. I just turned the big 3-0 in September and it was not good! My son had croup and that was the his worst day. I always thought I would have a fabulous 30th, but there was no "fab" that day:( But on the brighter side, I held my son for the most part of the day, which I guess could be a wonderful birthday in a way:) Hope your 30th is FABULOUS!

  24. My most dreaded BD was not my 25h, 30th, or even my 40th. For me it was my 50th as I realized a few weeks before that not very many people live to be 100 so that meant that I had already lived more than half my life! EEK! Now that I am 59, I have come to terms with it and am looking forward to my 60th. Every BD I have now, I just tell people it means that I am 1 year closer to retirement age!

  25. When I was younger birthdays never bothered me; even turning 50 was just a number. I believe you are as old as you feel. I will be turning 70 in February and that one brings me up short! How did I ever get to be this old??? Just glad I did. My sister and daughters say I don't look or act 70 so that is good enough for me. DH and I will be happily married 47 years next month. Enjoy the years in between and leave the worrying and stress for the big 70!! Life is too short and uncertain to fuss about something we have no control over. Hugs to you.

  26. I turned 58 on Oct 9 and my dear sister (7 years younger) commented that I'm almost 60!! So I pouted for a few minutes then decided there's nothing I can do about it -- plus it's still 2 years away!! Actually I've never worried about any birthdays. I've enjoyed every different phase of my life so far and expect (and hope) to continue enjoying. Don't dread birthdays --just have fun and look forward to what each new year brings. I'm pretty new to stamping -- took me a long time to find this joy!! So you never know what's around the corner. Happy Birthday and have a piece of cake for me!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. As others have said, all birthdays are good because it means you are still alive. I can't remember ever having had an especially bad birthday. In fact several times I thought I was older than I was, so I was the same age for a couple of years in a row. Ha Ha! Well, 65 will be here soon. Ask me after that! No really, I think we all feel the same age on the inside, unless we worry about it. Then we feel older. Every age has it's own benefits. We just have to think positive.

  29. I'm guessing it was 45. I suddenly felt like I had to be the "grown-up" - and if you knew me, you'd understand how laughable that really is! I have always had problems with authority figures and hated being told what to and when to do it. Now it's me telling my kids! YIKES!!! When did this happen? I still feel 18!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Actually I just turned 30 in June. This so far has been the most dreaded! I am okay still but was not looking forward to it! I see wrinkles and lines and skin problems I didnt see before and DIRECTLY corrilate it to my age!! You look good girl! dont be afraid of 30!

    ReplyDelete
  31. For some weird reason I completely freaked at turning 27....nothing a few daquiris didn't fix :) Now I'm 37 and I have to say that I wouldn't want to go back to being in my 20's!! Being in your 30's means that you really have some life experience under your belt...and for me it meant becoming comfortable in my own skin. I can't have kids either, but the older I get the more I appreciate that although I don't have children of my own I can still be a great role model for my nieces and nephews....plus you get all the fun and none of the mess :) Enjoy your birthday Jessie and just think of it as being one year better, not older!

  32. Oh sweet Jessie---do not be sad about turning 30--that is sooo young. You have so much FUN to look forward to....and I dont know what your stamping "goals" might be but you are a fantabulous stamper--amazing in fact so I think you have accomplished that goal!

My toughest birthday thus far was this past year--I turned 35 (no big deal) but what made it NO BIG DEAL was that there was so much stuff going on here that everyone forgot for a day. Sniff! lol! But it ended up being ok and we celebrated a bit late!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh Jessie, 30 is nothing! Personally, I LOVED my thirties. Notice that's past-tense, LOL! I turned 40 last month, and it was by far the hardest to date. (Unless you count the day I called a friend in a panic because I was about to turn 25 and I was not AT ALL where I thought I'd be in life. She casually pointed out that I was only turning 24 and patiently waited while I did the math. LOL.) Enjoy your big week - happy birthday AND happy anniversary. Congrats. And for what it's worth, looking back, I like the 30-something me a lot better than the 20-something me. I wish for you the same, girlfriend! Hugs!!

  34. I think 29 will be my milestone year...then I wont be able to kid myself that 30 is just around the corner!!!
Thanks for the chance to win candy, and the daily inspiration!

  35. Congrats on 4 years :) Time really does fly by, doesn't it?!!

Birthday's as a whole never really bother me, as I live each day to the fullest, enjoy it for all it is worth and say age is simple a number as you are as young as you feel. My DH says I still haven't grown up and I'm 46 now :) I love having kids as I still get to be a kid -- jumped in puddles with my kids when it was bucketing rain, still sled down the hill or even race them if we get snow in a winter, love making sugar cookies and decorating them etc. etc.

That being said, the one birthday that really threw me for a loop was my 30th. I had a great job, owned my own place, had no debt, had a nice car, good income etc. etc., but the one thing that was missing was a husband. I actually had 3 roommates in three years marry while I was their roommate!! Told people they had to pay ME up front for being my roommate as everyone who lived with me got married! I SO wanted to have kids and a family that I ached. I had to totally surrender my dreams to God and let Him do what was best in HIS timing and that wasn't easy! Some of my buddies (7 of them) actually kidnapped me and took me out to dinner and dessert and gave me a dozen long stemmed red roses and a great evening. This evening was the beginning of a wonderful decade in my life!! I met my DH, got married, and had both my kids in my 30's. Amazing what happens when you let go and let God :) I must say, I have enjoyed my 40s even more!! LOVE the wisdom, maturity, self confidence, life experience etc. each year/decade gives me! Yes, there are extra wrinkles, pounds etc., but I still love living every day God gives me, celebrating His love for me, and being able to share the love He puts in my heart with others. So don't let the world's view of aging suck you in -- just remember each day you are getting closer to the woman God created you to be!!! Phew, sorry about that, Jessie, I got on a roll there! Hope I didn't get too preachy on you, just speaking from my heart. LOVE your BLOG and your heart for others. Love your creations and always look forward to new ones. Blessings on you and may this decade bring you some of the desires of your heart. (((hugs)))

  36. My most horrible birthday was when my husband bragged about forgetting it...so bye-bye hubby. Now I only have good birthdays! Happy birthday to you...and many more.

    ReplyDelete
  37. My 40th was probably my worst, but what I'm learning is that being "old" has its rewards...you can do whatever you want and everyone just dismisses it as, "oh, well, you know, she's old". It's tremendously freeing. That saying that you're only as old as you feel is very true, too. So, I'm sure that eventually, you'll only see 30 as a number...no big deal. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well....I am 55 (just until January!) and I can't say any of my birthdays have bothered me--yet! If any do I think it will be 60 or 70. I guess it could be that in my mind I really am not that old...haha. But I have to say my body feels every one of those years. Just remember age is only a number and a state of mind. I actually would not go back to my 20s or 30s for anything.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Believe it or not my 21st birthday was the hardest. I was in my Human Biology Class where the professor said that after 20 your body starts to go downhill. Then, later that day, while playing softball, my BACK went out! Can you believe it! I love my 30s, but I'll admit that 40 will be weird. I'm still going to wish you a happy birthday. I pray that you will know just how loved you are on that day!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hang in there Jessie!!! I was freaked out about turning 30 too... it just seems like a huge turning point . . . but I'll tell you-- now that I'm 34, I don't even remember my age-- I actually have to think about it when asked!!! It is just a number, it is not YOU!!!!

Have a Happy Birthday and celebrate all day long!!

  44. Jessica, I cried on my 30th birthday! Patrick took me to this wonderful Italian restaurant (and we were living in HAWAII!) and I sat there with tears streaming down my face! We had been married for almost 4 years and life felt so perfect...I knew that my 30's would bring huge changes and lots of responsibility that I wasn't sure I was quite ready for! But all those things turned out to be the best things in my life. This year I turned 50!!! I can honestly say it was one of my best birthdays ever. I've learned to celebrate the triumphs (and sometimes even the tragedies) of the previous year and look forward to the next with excitement and anticipation. So chin up GF! It's all good!

  45. My most horrid bday was my 30th bday. I was living with my BF at the time, my family and him, threw me a surprise party and he didn't clean the house, UGH!! It was a disaster and I was mortified. We got there, and pretty much everyone left about 2 hours later. What a party! Hope yours is better!!!

  46. Congratulations on your upcoming event, to be "30" again, would thrill me to pieces, LOL.....however, I am still excited to be 57 right now, you are only as old as you see yourself and truly inside I feel in my mind, 40. My 50th birthday party had to be my most dreaded so far, however, since I plan all my own birthday parties, I made this one extra special, I decided to buy myself anything and everything I wanted, stamp/scrap related, oh my, that bill certainly got enormous, LOL....but I do have all the toys I wanted and since that day, decided each year, I would do that same thing again and again....good excuse to have all the things I want and love, and feel no guilt in getting them.....make a commitment to yourself, or a promise, that you too will do something special for yourself each year and look forward to that time, instead of dreading it.....makes for a much happier time!! Happy B-day!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jessie you are too cute. I have to say that the most dreaded birthday I had was this years, and I'm only 32. It was "dreaded" for no other reason than I kept having this weird dream that something bad would happen to me, but I have to say it's been a wonderful year so far...so don't know where that came from... I actually look forward to and make a HUGE deal of my b-days most years LOL. My 30th was FAB...one of the most fun ever. My hubby gave me a make-your-own-purse party and sent my friends and I downtown to make them, he even paid for my friend's purses!!! My gf's threw me a nice party at home...it was really one of my best bdays, so there is hope for you, my friend!!! :)

  50. OMG! I had a tough time with 25 honestly. Isn't that silly?! 30 didn't bother me...I was married and having a blast (no babies either). 35 was pretty good too...by then I had 2 babies and life is/was good! I'm 36 now and honestly this decade (in my 30's) has been the best (& hardest at times)of my life! You gotta remember..IT ONLY GETS BETTER FROM HERE! Really!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Congrats on your anniversary! My one year is today. =)

My most dreaded birthday was my 24th... not because of my age, necessarily, but because my parents were in the middle of their divorce and it was the first "event" that they wouldn't be together after almost 25 years of marriage.

However, everybody went out of their way to make it really special, even if it wasn't the same as my previous 23...

I hope you have a VERY happy day and remember: 30 is the new 20! At least that's what my Mom tells me everytime she has a birthday... lol.

    ReplyDelete
  52. OH Jessie!! It's really not all that bad!! haha!! I know it sounds trite, but you really ARE only as old as you feel! I'm 37 and most days I feel 20....really! My teenager helps me feel that way too!

I do think I will dread 40 though, 'cause that's OLD. Not sure I can still feel 20 then....maybe 25. It's creeping up and I'm a little frightened now that you mention it....thanks a lot. *giggle*

  53. I dreaded 40 the most! But made it okay, will be 58 in Nov. and dreading 60. Just enjoy every minute of your life!

  54. After going through what I am going through with Todd's grandmother I am realizing that age is just a number. You have to cherish every year that you have here. Sorry, it's just so real right now ya know? But to be totally honest I am dreading 30 too. LOL I am 27 and I am too close for comfort! :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Awwww. I am so sorry you are dreading it. I LOVED my 30's. I think you will too. It is a new chapter in your life that will be filled with great things. I have not had a dreaded birthday YET. But I am 44 and my son announced to his entire class that his dad was 50 and his mom is only 29. I loved it. Have a great birthday. You are a stamping hero in my eyes and it can only get better. 56. I think probably 40 was the worst. It was the first time I actually started noticing those tiny wrinkles. Who knows how long they were there, lol, and it was just a momentary thing and I got over it:) Basically, it's just another day in my life, I don't dwell on it, I just keep on enjoying my life :) Smile and have a happy 30th!

  57. I really dreaded my 35th birthday. I thought I would have been married and had several children by then. Well, I'm turning 50 next month and no husband or children (now I'm old enough to be a grandmother!). I'm not dreading my 50th; yet,I can't really believe I'll be that age. I try to look at the good things in my life. It makes getting older that much better!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ahhh, 30 isnt so bad! Just keep telling yourself it's only a number! You as young as you feel is my theory! It's so funny how we all look at the ages different. I looked forward to turning 30, thought it sounds so mature and oh...classy, lol! BUT, my 40th was my hardest I guess...but I got over it pretty quick!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm kind of dreading turning 31 next month! It's like it's downhill from here and next time I blink, I'll be 40. So enjoy being 30 and Happy Birthday! :)

  62. Jessie my dear, dear girl. I have never and I mean never dreaded a birthday. I believe every year should be a wonderful celebration of our birth. I turned 50 two years ago and literally celebrated the whole month. I have learned with age the wisdom to know that it is better to be grateful for what we have as opposed to looking at what we do not. May you have many more birthdays (dreaded or not) and may God bless you always.

  63. Ok- so maybe I'll be the oldest here. I'm 55 and I do have to say that my 30th birthday was by far the worst! I think there is something that starts a voice inside saying "Hurry up, you haven't got much time left!". but that wasn't really true. Now, what I feel most is that this wasn't quite what I thought it would be like at 55. My baby in college, 3 granddaughters, and I STILL am working- thought maybe I'd be done and off traveling the world by now. 64. wow, you're still a *baby*! my most dreaded bday til now was my 35th. meant i was closer to 40 than 30! ugh! not looking forward to it!! you have lots to be thankful for, never forget that!!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Ok for me it has to be the year before all the big one's. 29 was so bad and then 30 was no big deal. 39 was bad and 40 not so much. So now I have anniversaries of my 30th birthday. I am on my 15th anniversary this year.

    ReplyDelete
  66. You are only as old as you FEEL!!!
I will be 44 in November. I used to dread each year getting older, but now I just thank GOD that my 4 boys stay healthy and that my husband of 19 years keeps putting up with my stamping addiction. Have a great birthday, and don't stress it!!

  67. How cute and sad, Jessie! If it's any consolation, I LOVED my thirties. The jury is still out about the forties, although so far they haven't been too bad. I think turning 41 was harder than 40 because now I'm REALLY in my forties. Happy birthday! And sometimes good things take time . . . .

  68. 30 is so young! I know it's all relative... I'm having a hard time knowing that 40 is a few years away for me! Happy birthday to you!

    ReplyDelete
  69. 30 was the hardest for me too. 40 has come and gone and I'll soon be 50. After 30, age really didn't bother me so much. Weight is a much bigger issue for me!

Thanks for the chance to win your candy!
    Happy birthday!

  70. I have found myself dreading every birthday for a few years now. I am turning 27 this year - that sounds so old to me. But that's life - right? Happy Anniversary! My Anniversary is actually today - #7 and still going strong! :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. I love your blog! I think 60 was the worst. I tried to ignore it, but my Mom kept telling everyone! I was so upset with her, and told her over and over just keep it to yourself. Did she listen? NO! Well I survived and now I am 61. Most of the time I feel like I am still 21 but you can be sure I don't act or dress like 21!

Have a wonderful birthday and anniversary.

  72. Jessie, I have to say my most dreaded birthday was my 30th as well. I sat in my living room all day and cried. It hit me like a ton of bricks. And to top it off, my husband and children never once acknowledged that it was my birthday with a card or anything. After that one, they all came easy and I think I like where I am at each year.

  73. Boy do I feel your pain. My 40th, YIKES, is just a few month away. Probably the worst so far was my 35th. I don't know why, but it really got be down. Good luck with 30. Your friend is right, it is much better than the alternative!

    Happy Birthday and Anniversary!

  74. My worse was probably turning 40. It wasn't so much being 40 as it was there was no celebration. My dh didn't plan a thing! We ended up going to a boat show. How sad is that!!! I was so disappointed to say the least.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I can totally relate to 30, I cried like a baby myself. Then life continues and the last 10 have flown by so fast. See me again in January when I turn 40.. I may have a different perspective then hehe. People ask if my husband and I have kids and I say "nope, Im the kid" and I am! I refuse to grow up, and I only feel "old" when I "think" Im old. I used to be so insecure with myself, and now I see these younger people and think to myself, I am so much more comfortable with myself now. I wouldnt want to be that age again. So dont worry about a thing, have a good cry if you must, and keep on stamping :)

  76. Ah, Jessie.....Age is just a number! I was seven months pregnant when I turned 40. I am healthy, active, and love my job teaching. My "40" baby is now a sophomore and I love going to all his activities and being an important part of his life. Each day is a gift from God. Embrace life....some are not so fortunate!

  77. The only time I remember worrying about my age for about 30 seconds was when I turned 30. However, it's been easy breezy ever since. Now I'm 42 and I love each birthday because each year I become more "me." Hope your day was fabulous!

  78. Jessie, Happy Birthday girlie! 30's not so bad, but at 35 strange things start happening to the body, let me tell ya. I can't remember ever dreading one of my birthdays (other than 40 which is still a few years away) but I was so so emotional when my son turned 5! I was just super sad that he was growing up so fast. Now he'll be 9 soon and I'll be feeling the same way in another year when he'll be 10 probably!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I would have to say even though I'm not 40 till May it is haunting me now!! Turning 40 will be very hard for me. 30 wasn't so bad... but 40! Now my baby is turning six on Saturday and this is very hard for me too. I like to think of him as my baby still and now that he is turning six and in Kindergarden it seems he will grow up weather I want him to or not. :(

  80. I am so behind in my blog reading. I am so sorry to hear that you are sad about turning 30. I like what Jodi told you to do. . .you are ONLY 30, and you have a at least 40 more years to live life and love! The only time I dreaded a birthday was 30, because it just meant I was real grown-up! But then i got over it when Sam through me a surprise b-day. Congrats on being married for 4 years!

  81. If everyone else's birthday stories haven't made you feel better by now, then nothing will. ;) Turning 30 was my most dreaded but turned out to be the most fun! I think my sweet 16 sucked because my high school bf dumped me the night before, I spent my bday crying until I finally shoved a carrot cake in my mouth and felt better. :) 30 is fabulous, trust me!

  82. After 25 and everyone saying that you are 1/4 of a century old, I've never had a problem with age. Even when I turned 55 and someone said you are having a Speed Limit Birthday - I responded with I cannot wait until I reach 75. Please don't worry about age - just be happy that you are healthy, have a wonderful husband and that you are enjoying life! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Jessie, turning 30 is not too bad, I think I celebrated really good. I am always thankful to be 1 year older, I am 35 (soon to be 36)I always make jokes about my age because nobody believes I am 35!!! that is something really good, LOL.

Enjoy your birthday, and Happy Anniversary too!!!

    God bless you

Happy Early birthday-- enjoy it before its gone! :)

Birthdays are just another day. Live each day to the fullest!
I can't say I dreaded any birthdays. I started having children when I was 30. Almost a month ago I celebrated my 55th. Someone said "Now you are the same age as the speed limit!" That did make me think for a minute.
    Enjoy your special day!

  94. Happy Birthday! Don't think of the number just the fact that you made it through another year!! My worst birthday had to be when I turned 19. I had been so sure that once out of high school my life would fall into place. Well, it didn't. I still didn't have a boyfriend, didn't know what to do with my life, and didn't have any great group of friends to celebrate with. Happily, all that has changed and life is good. Thanks for the chance to win some candy. jmniffer

  95. I have to say I really haven't dreaded any birthday but I wasn't looking forward to 30 (already 7 years ago!). However, I have to tell you Jessie, that the 30's have been my best years yet! I think as you grow older that (hopefully) you know your true self. And me personally, am very happy with the person I have become. Have a very beautiful and blessed birthday and ENJOY your 30's!!!!

  97. I just found your blog and i love it! Congrats on your anniversary and happy birthday! Don't sweat 30-it's just a number, plus if you stop having birthdays that means you aren't here to stamp! Now that's something to dread! I haven't had a really bad birthday but I can say that 40 seems so BIG to me. Hopefully it will pass without leaving a bag of wrinkles behind!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oh Jessie! I feel for ya girlie. I hit the big three-oh myself a couple months ago. I was trying to pretend that it wasn't happenin' but nooooo... everyone wants to celebrate it! But hey - super good reason for cake and ice cream! :)

  99. congrats on your well deserved honor at being a dirty girl. I don't remember turning 30 and I promise that someday, if you are lucky, you will look back and remember how young you are. Imagine meeting all your stamping goals! You go girl!

  102. I had dreaded my 50th birthday earlier this year but it didn't turn out too bad after all - I don't feel 50! We say here that 50 is the new 40, 40 is the new 30 and so you'll be just fine as 20 is the new 30 ;) Happy Birthday for the 16th :)

    ReplyDelete
  103. Hmmm...I didn't find 30 to be that bad. I'm turning 34 this year and am not looking forward to 40. That seems like a bigger deal to me - not quite sure why though. Congrats again!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Most dreaded b-day you say...my 40th! On that day, I thought what more could go wrong (other than turning 40). My Mom entered the er and told me she wanted to die. She had been ill for many years, but on that day she broke her tail bone and the pain must have been horrendous, for she had never wanted to give up before. Luckily for me at least, she did not die on my birthday, since I know people who have lost someone on their b-day and how sad that day becomes for them from then on!
Anyway, I got over it (and Mom lived for a couple of more months - love you forever Mom) and I realized that the alternative to having a birthday is not having one. So, I now appreciate them all...no matter what!!! PS Congrats you dirty gal!

  105. There has only been one birthday I've ever dreaded. The year I turned 42. For 8 days every year my sister Marcie and I would be the same age (we were less than a year apart...my BD is on 7/20, and hers 7/28). We lost her to breast cancer when she was 42, in February of 2004. When July came that year, my heart broke yet again because she wasn't there to be 42 with me for those 8 days.

Age is just another number, but 25
was tuff, but I got over it quickly
especially when my two friends took me up in their private
plane and let me be the copilot.
that was fabulous so I forgot about
my birthday an the dreadful 25.
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jessie
    and many More

  107. Hey Jessie, first off Congrats on being a dirty girl. I just read it on Jodi's Blog. Now as for my aging well....I took 40 like a trooper. It did not bother me at all. BUT 41 and now this year 42 are causing me to hyper ventilate a little. I am not feeling as graceful anymore. I think it is going to only get worse for me from now on. UGGGHHHH. Happy Birthday to you!!!!! Enjoy it.

  108. Hey, Jessie!

First of all, Happy Anniversary! Secondly, Happy Birthday! 30 isn't so bad -- really! I'm 42, so I know what I'm talkin' about! There are blessings to be found each day -- so enjoy every moment :)

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  109. Hey Jessie! Girl don't even worry about turning 30. The 30's are the best! Next year I'm, turning 40. YIKES! I just ignore my birthday anymore. Actually, at our house we celebrate the Opening Day of Dove Season, not my birthday on September 1st. Enjoy your birthday! And congrats on being a Dirty Girl. You so deserve it!

    Have a great stamping day!

  112. most dreaded.........18th. i loved school and being a kid and never, never, never wanted to grow up!!!! when my now adult daughter was about 17, she did something very immature and her dad said "when are you going to grow up?!" being the quick thinker that she is to avoid conflict, her answer was, "Well, mom hasn't yet, so, I guess I have a lot of time." her father's answer was "How am I suppose to respond to that??". sooooooooooo... don't worry about turning 30.----- it don't change a thing, just gets you closer to senior citizen discounts! have a great birthday.

  118. Happy Birthday Jessie!

I have to be honest and say that I haven't really dreaded any birthdays yet, but I will be 40 in 3 years and 3 months and I am not too thrilled about that one! But you have to remember it is only a number, it only matters how you feel! So go and celebrate girl!! You are still YOUNG!!

    Happy Birthday hugs to you!!

  119. Well, I remember when I was 39 and I was dreading my 40th birthday. I just wasn't ready to call myself forty and I kept telling everyone I wouldn't be 40. Well, my friends had a party for me and when it came time to celebrate, the person who put on the party thought I was turning 41!! (not 40). All my cards said "Happy 41st Birthday!!". I didn't even have to get used to being 40-- I was already 41!! It was funny though.
    Enjoy your days. Karen

  120. Happy birthday!! Well, I hate to tell you that my most dreaded birthday was my 30th (sorry). Unfortunately, my divorce was finalized just a couple weeks before my 30th. However, I need to leave this on a happy note for you in that my best birthday was the following year. Thanks for the chance to win.

  121. Happy Birthday! Hope it is a great weather weekend for you!

I have to say that this pending birthday of my 36th (DEc 1) is my most dreaded! It means I am closer to 40 than 30 and I haven't done lots of things on my Life to Do List!

    Enjoy!
