MFT Monday

Hello everyone, hope you are having a happy Monday!! I went to see my nephew yesterday, so I have some new pictures of him at the end of the post. I was there for five hours and I think I held him the entire time, so when I finally let him go, I snapped a few!! But first, my card for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge and the Technique Lovers Challenge. Today's TLC was to watercolor using re-inkers. I personally am too lazy to do this normally, but I have to say that I love the way it turned out. I used my new What's Up Cupcake set from MFT and stamped all the cupcakes and tray with Black Stazon on watercolor paper. I used my Barely Banana and Ruby Red reinkers to color the cupcakes and then stamped the sprinkles in Ruby Red. The paper is from the Basic Grey Cupcake line. All the embellishments are from SU except for the flowers that are by Daisy D. This card is already packaged up and on it's way to one of my favorite stampers, hope she likes it!!
stamps-What's Up Cupcake?
paper-Ruby Red, Barely Banana, watercolor and Basic Grey Cupcake DP
ink-Black Stazon, Ruby Red pad and refill, and Barely Banana refill
tools-silver flowers, daisy d flowers, silver brads, cream grosgrain, Cuttlebug, oval punches, Oval Nestabilities

Okay, and now the fun stuff. Here is Jared in his bassinet when I finally decided to lay him down. You can't tell from the photo, but he is gaining weight like a champ!! Since he came home from the hospital, he has gained a pound!!woohoo!! I love how he sleeps like a person with his little arm kicked out. The other picture is of my DH holding him. I have to tell you, it brings tears to my eyes just to see Jared in his arms. He stares at him in amazement the whole time he holds him. We are both struggling right now with the whole emotional aspect of this, and up until recently, I wasn't sure he felt the same way I did. I love my sister, and I am so happy for her, but it is still hard for me. I will not give up my fight for a child until the day comes that I have one to hold of my own, and it was nice to realize that I wasn't alone. Travis and I even talked about adoption, so it is nice to know that the option is open for him to. Sorry to dump all that on you all, didn't mean to get all deep and emotional on ya!! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!!

  1. You are not alone. In the year after we got married, all 3 of my bridesmaids, my 2 sisters-in-law and 3 cousins were all pregnant at the same time! And I was devastated! After 2-1/2 years of trying (10 months with professional help including 8 rounds of artificial insemination) it was finally my turn!

And it will be your turn too! Hang in there!

  5. great card, Jessie! I think you captured Travis' feelings in that picture. Adoption is admirable (and something near & dear to MY heart) seek God in prayer...He can certainly bless you in that role whether or not you give birth (and you will have the capacity to love him/her just as if not more than if you did) HUGS!

Hang in there, it will happen, one way or another...have faith!! God knows what he is doing and adoption is a fabulous option! 12. Don't give up! 39 years ago my husband & I went through the adoption screening and were just months from having an adopted daughter when I became pregnant!!! I thought my son was a miracle, which would mean I had 2 miracles because I went on to have another child......you never know what's in store for you,

  13. Jessie, never give up hope. I was told by doctors that there would only be a 20% chance for me to ever get pregnant and after many years of nothing, I finally got pregnant at 35 and four years later when we moved to Japan I got pregnant again. You are still young, don't give up hope, you'll be blessed with a little miracle too.

    Hugs,
    Sabrina
