Little Paper Shop Monday Challenge
I was looking in my Google reader at the HUNDREDS of posts that I haven't had a chance to look at, much less comment on, and I came across today's Little Paper Shop Blog challenge on Cindy's blog...yayyy! Yayyy, that I found it early so I could play, but not so much yay to what it was....a color challenge-Brilliant Blue, Pixie Pink, Real Red.....huh?? So seriously, I HATE the Bold Brights. I don't know what happened, when I first started stamping I LOVED them, and now I rarely if ever use them, and never, unless forced, do I use more than one at a time. Being a good sport, I decided to try it, but I gotta tell ya, I could just barely make myself use the Pixie Pink. I did color her bows and shoes pink, and there is a little bit in the DP(ok, I think it is Pink Passion-work with me). I stamped my Katie Cupcake on an MFT Perfect Panel and then colored her with my Copics. I also paper pieced her dress with some VERY retired SU paper. She was cut out and embossed with my Cuttlebug and Oval Nesties, and her layer is Real Red-which was cut the same way. My ribbon is from SU, and the buttons are also from SU(Playground).

That's a very nice card, and you did good with the minimum amt of pink. I like the card a lot.
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the color challenge. I played along also this morning and I had a hard time with the pink and red together on a card concept but I think it came out fairly decent.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card Jess!! :)
ReplyDeleteDarling, jessie! Not a fan of the BB myself!!
ReplyDeleteI do not like the brights either but you have done a wonderful job here! Love the paper piecing and piercing!!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, Jessie. When I first started stamping, I didn't think I'd ever use anything but the Soft Subtles, but I have really grown to love Bold Brights. I think you did a spectacular job with these beautiful colors! The red frosting on that pretty blue looks so delish!
ReplyDeleteYou ROCKED these colors! OMGOSH I love it!
ReplyDeleteYou did extremely well for colors you hate! Way to go Jessie!
ReplyDeleteMany Blessings,
M.
How adorable and cute. I think you did a great job with the color combo and your touch of the pink is perfect.
ReplyDeleteAdorable, I love your take on these colors, so sweet.
