Before I get into today's challenge, as this week is a sponsored challenge, I want to introduce this month's sponsor which is Creations by AR. Adela has some awesome templates on her site which I know the "Crazies" have had fun playing with for our challenge this week. I don't have a fancy die cutting machine, and I SUCK at cutting out templates, but the templates come in all formats: PDF, SVG and DXF so that you can use them with your electronic die cutting machines or cut by hand if you don't have a machine. I opted not to use one of her template's for the reason's mentioned about, but they are all FABULOUS!! This week's winner will receive two templates of their choice from Creations by AR.
Adela has also offered our blog readers a 10% discount on all her templates during this challenge so that is from September 17th to September 23rd. All you need to do is use the code: challenge10 when you go through the check out.
If you decide to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C105. Don't forget to come back here and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too.
Ok, so if you made it this far...mostly because I am sure you smelled chocolate, but you are IN FACT at the right blog. I don't do 3-D, in fact, I almost bowed out of this challenge. I tried a template or two in my time, and the whole idea of cutting them out, taking all the time, and then they NOT working the way I want them to the first time makes me nutso, so I avoid them...but this, it came to me in a vision. LOL!!! No templates were harmed in the making of this pumpkin, in fact, it was pretty dang simple. I started by cutting 12- 1"x8" strips of Orange Fizz. I then cut two of the scalloped circles from the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics out of JellyBean Green. I then punched a hole in each end of the strips, and the centers of my circles. I used a large Michael's brad at each end, and put one end of the strips through the top with the circles going on the brad first, then one at the bottom. I then fanned out the strips to make my pumpkin. For my filler, I used some white cardstock, which I cut into 1/4in strips and then crumpled up. I filled the inside with a few Hershey's Miniatures, cause, ya know, chocolate is amazing. I then cut out some swirls with my Fancy Flourish Die-namics and some JellyBean Green cardstock. For my tag, I cut some Echo Park Happy Halloween with my Framed Greetings Die-namics. I then hand cut out a layer of Black Licorice just a tad bigger to give it some more dimension. I then stamped my sentiment from the Tag You're It stamp set. To attach it to my pumpkin, I used some Black Collection Plaid ribbon from MFT.
Well, that is it for me for now! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day! Be sure to pop by and see what all the other Crazies have created!!
