I think I hit the wrong button, and it posted just a title first. So if you happened to get here, in between times, forgive me, I am somewhat computer challenged. Someone asked me today if there was any way to subscribe to my blog to get updates, and I actually have no clue!! Help any of you bloggers out there, I told her I would look into it and see if I can add a link or something, but I don't really even know if there is one. I will probably do what I always do....go to my favorite blogs and see what they have done. Luckily, I usually can figure stuff out pretty easy, but now always. I probably know more than I think I do, but who knows, it may be true, I may be computer illeterate!!! SO saddddddddddd!!
This card today is for the Technique Lovers Challenge over on SCS which was to use different patterns on the same card, something I already do, so this was way easy for me. I do remember a time when you couldn't put polka dots with stripes or flowers with, but thank goodness times have changed. I will say, and not to the fault of the hostess or anyone else, but it is my least favorite of all the challenges. But being the proper challenge addict, I try to participate unless it is something that I don't need or can't use. I am a hobby demo, which means, I am a SU demo just to get the discount. I have never been good speaking in front of crowds, so I have only done one party. It was a huge success and they all loved it, but I think I got an ulcer from it!!! I shake the whole time I am trying to demo something, it is embarassing. After the first one, I stopped doing it. So when they have projects for the challenges, I tend not to do them, cause I pretty much know I won't use whatever it is. I do however like knowing that if I ever need them, they are all there together. But anyway, back to the card!!! I started with a Bashful Blue base in standard A2 size. I then layered So Saffron and Whisper White. I then cut a 1 1/2 in by 3 3/4 in panel from the Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink dsp in the prints pack, which is a hostess gift at level 1 for SU(the best option they have ever had if you ask me). The other panel is from my Certainly Celery DSP. Each one is layered with the same cardstock color as the DP. By the way, each layer on this card goes up 1/8th inch instead of 1/4 like I normally do, it just worked better that way on this one. I put a white brad in all four corners before I adhered all this to the Bashful Blue base because I hate having ribbon or brads sticking through to the main card. I also did the ribbon before I glued it down. I went a little overboard with the ribbon on this one, but I LOVE ribbon. It has celery, pink, blue and apricot grosgrain. The main image is layered with all the colors and was colored with my SU markers and then blended with my aquapainter. The frog, flower and watter ripple are all from Melanie Muenchinger's fabulous set, Just So Hoppy . The grass is from Rubber Stampede, isn't it perfect for this kind of scene. The stem on the flower was hand drawn in by me, trust me in this, if I can do it, anyone can. I stamped all of this in black stazon on Whisper White cardstock. I did put a little white gel pen on the frogs eyes, the flower and the spots on the back, to make them pop a little more.
Well, that is all for now, if you have any questions, feel free to PM on splitcoast, leave a comment, or email me!! Thanks and have a good day!!
