It is my week to do the Krafty Tips and Tutes over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog, so I wanted to show you one of the things I get asked the most....how do you get your layers so perfect?!!
I start by cutting my first layer to exactly the size I want it to be. For this tutorial, I started with a 3x4 panel(initial size of panel depends upon what you are layering, but for this tutorial, consider the yellow my "image" or starting panel).
To get my first layer, I cut my next layer at exactly 1/8th of an inch bigger than my first panel. So for this panel, I will be cutting the width to 3 1/8th.
I repeat that process for the length, so for my 4in panel, I cut my first layer at 4 1/8th inches.
If you chose to do another layer, and we all KNOW how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE my layers. I repeat the same process, and cut the next layer exactly an 1/8th bigger than my LAST layer. So for this layer, I will be cutting the width to 3 1/4inches.
I repeat that process for the length, so my length will be 4 1/4 inches.
The most important step of this ENTIRE process is to be sure to carefully lay out your layers BEFORE you glue them down. Make sure they line up properly, because we all know that cutters can be different, and difficult at times. If they line up, go ahead and carefully glue them down.
Well, I hope that answered some questions, and if you have any more, feel free to email me at Jessi96@yahoo.com!!
Thanks for stoppng by, and have a Krafty Day!!
