Hey everyone, guess what time it is?? CREATIVE CHALLENGE TIME!
In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're On a Roll! Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge!
This month's challenge, called, On a Roll, is all about rolled flowers, or rolled paper(or felt in my case). Basically, we are playing with the GORGEOUS rolled flower Die-namics from MFT. I specifically decided to play along with this challenge BECAUSE I am SCARED of my flower dies...it's true. So, my tip to you, and listen closely....USE FELT FIRST! I tried SEVERAL different roses, in all 4 sizes, the daisy, all of it, with paper to NO avail....nothing looked right. I KNEW I needed more practice, so Puff Cloud White Felt from MFT to the rescue. My camera is on it's last leg, so I don't have step by step photos, but start from the outside of the flower die, and roll into the center where the big tag is. Use it to secure the bottom of your flower using a glue dot, or other adhesive. To make my flowers actually look like daisies(think PUFF BALLS from the last time I used it, OIY), I added some old MFT Spring buttons with some Blossom Twine. Those were also adhered with glue dots.
My image is the super cute Pure Innocence-Aim High. My sentiment is from the PI- Waterlily set. I stamped her on an X-Press It blending card, and then colored her with my Copics. She was then layered with Berrylicious, Orange Fizz, and Cotton Candy. I paired her with some Echo Park Sweet Summertime paper. It was used in the background, as well as to paper piece the kite. My ribbon is from SU, brads are from American Crafts, and my spiral clip is from Creative Express. I used the Small Open Scalloped Border Die-namics, as well.
Well, that is it for me for now! Thanks for stopping by, and have a GREAT day! Be sure to head to Kim's blog for a look at all the other designers "On a Roll" cards!!
HUGS!!!
