Ways to Use Fabric...
So, I am NOT a sewer, even though I REALLY want to be. My mom is AMAZING at all that stuff, she quilts, she used to make our clothes, she makes the coolest stuff for decorations, she even did all the alterations for my wedding....but not me, I can't sew a straight line. My next stamping purchase is GOING to be a Janome, but until then, I am NOT a sewer(and I may not be one after I get it, but I am going to TRY)!! When I saw today's Ways to Use It challenge, I figured I wouldn't be able to play, but then I remembered these GORGEOUS Cotton Scraps that I got from Crafty Secrets. They are so easy to work with, and although it would be better to sew mine down, I used red line tape to attach it to my Really Rust card stock. I then added some brads to the corners and used my Making Memories edge distressor to rough up the edges of the card stock. For the fabric, I just used my fingernail to give the edge a semi frayed look...not to much, but some. For the Chocolate Chip scalloped layer, I used my long rectangle Nesties, but I didnt' have one that fit perfect, so I cut it in half and overlapped them..you can't even tell!! The DP is from the SU Autumn Vine DSP, and I added some Chocolate Chip and Mustard grosgrain to it. This card was SUPER simple, but Jared is here, so it took a few hours to get it all done, LOL!! Speaking of Jared, today he is 8months old!! Where has the time gone??? Isn't he getting so big and CUTE!! This first picture is him in his Valentines shirt..it says Lovasaurus..too CUTE!! This second picture was what he looked like when I took the blanket off his carseat this morning. ADORABLE!!!
